Great pub, we went on a freezing winter day with a foot of snow either side of the road. The pub was open, welcoming and served us good food. Open fire in the hearth and a lovely old building, what more could you ask for. The food is good, standard pub dishes, but it was all very nice. Better than we had expected from the rating on here. Decent sized portions too. Recommend the mixed grill.
Lovely food, great service, toilets immaculate. It was cold though and fire wasn't doing anything to warm us. However it was just after lunchtime and only several people there.
Visted on Thursday for an evening meal. The food was lovely, and the girl serving was an absolute delight to talk to. Her customer service was brilliant. The pub looks amazing inside and out, and the location is just stunning. Great choice of ales on draft too. Will definitely be back. Steak night sounds amazing 😀 And they do Pie and a Pint,what's not to love?
I stayed here for a week whilst on business, recently. Mark, Donna and their staff are lovely and couldn't do enough to help. The room was clean and tidy, the bed incredibly comfortable. This pub has an excellent selection of real ales, beers and lagers that will suit all tastes. The chef is a star, the food excellent. I can heartily recommend Pie and Pint Night! There is plenty of parking, too. The only downside was I couldn't get out with my walking boots and a map. I've given five stars all round as it fully deserves top marks. Excellent value for money and in an enviable position. Thank you everyone.
