Filters English Most recent Lesley B Lesley B Isle of Sheppey 145 contributions Wondrful Little Italian Café Nov 2024 • couples Staying locally on the South Downs, we couldn't decide where to go on an unexpectedly cold & snowy day. Eventually we chose to stay close by and visit this fabulous quaint and quirky little Italian Café. It was on our list of 'must visit' while in the area, so what better time to go. We arrived around 2pm and was pleased to find that we could get a table. Warm, cosy and welcoming, a lovely young man gave us a choice of tables. All members of staff were friendly, helpful and super efficient. The menu has a lovely selection of Italian dishes to choose from. My husband chose the focaccia toastie with baby-leaf salad, parmesan shavings and balsamic dressing. It was stuffed with Prosciutto, mozzarella, pistachio pesto, and rocket. I chose the balsamic mushrooms and canallini beans with rocket, burrata and a slice of toasted sourdough 😋 both were absolutely delicious. The coffee and chai latte went down well too, especially our second cup which were accompanied by amaretto, pistachio and almond sweet treats. We would highly recommend visiting thus wonderful cafe should you find yourself in the area, we will definitely be returning on our next visit to West Sussex. Thank you La Follia

Stopped by for the first time when out on my bike. Very cheerful welcome and an excellent coffee and flapjack. Very interesting interior because La Follia also shares the space with a small furniture outlet. I don't mean that the furniture is small, I mean the the furniture area is small ha ha. I very much enjoyed my stop and will drive back out to South Harting with my wife because we so like finding new and interesting places for our morning coffee

Such a lovely new gem in South Harting ✨🙌🏼 really romantic la vie est belle feel to this “little slice of Italy” cafe with lots to beautiful attention to detail to be distracted by during your visit, as this newly opened cafe is merged with the very loved Lamb and Newt shop - if you know, you know !! 🦎🩷 I ordered the original bruschetta and pistachio cornetto (croissant) and cappuccino ☕️ 🥐 …which were simply perfect and so tasty. Looking forward to going back again soon and highly recommend to anyone looking to be the first to discover the next best spot in south Harting 🧚🏽🧚🏽

Best cafe I’ve been to in a while! Great food, great coffee, and great service! Everything was of quality and the place itself was very ambiant!

Wow what incredible food! It is so fresh, tastes incredible, and I want to go back already! Highly recommend, gluten free and vegan options are available too. Can’t wait to visit again!

I was on my way to the vet a couple of doors down when I first walked past this cantina. The smell of fresh, tasty food, when they'd not long been open, was so good that I decided to pop in after the vet, and I'm really glad I did 😀 I had the pan-fried mackerel with Latin rice and salsa Verde, and it was excellent 👌 I spoke to the chef, and she told me that everything is made on the premises, even the jam, that's made in small batches 😀 I don't live in Petersfield, so now I'm going to have to find more reasons to go there!

Cosy cafe with welcoming staff. Cuisine is spanish/latin. Had breakfast. The food is simple but delicious- I had 'Sumak eggs' which was fried eggs, flat bread and a yoghurt sauce. The tables include hot sauce which you can add to spice things up. I recommend giving it a try if your dish allows, since it isn't the sort of sauce that blows your head off. I had a sausage with my meal and that made it feel more complete. They have some nice theming- spanish-style art and cutlery that comes in a antique-style long-handle coffee pitcher. Only downside is the chairs are a bit uncomfortable due to their low back rests.

What a lovely lovely place ! The atmosphere was 10/10 and cosy room and decor makes the place ! The service was beautiful and the girls working were very friendly! The food was outstanding. They made my birthday dinner beautifully ! Highly highly recommend! The scallops were incredible 👌🏼

Was going to Petersfield for a totally different reason. Surprised my partner with a spontaneous lunch time meal. Found this awesome restaurant with outstanding food. The food was fresh with quality ingredients. Anastasila was very accommodating. Go give this place a try, you wont be disappointed.

This was our first time at Restaurant Six and it won't be our last. Menu options were terrific making it hard to choose and the food that arrived was top notch. My only negative is that we were seated in their small dining room upstairs and this is so dimly lit reading the menu and seeing what you were eating meant carefully positioning the table light.

Fabulous tasting menu, each course kept getting better. The wine pairing with it was very nice. With notice they were able to adapt for my allergies and it was fabulous food. Staff were so helpful and charming. They obviously have a passion for their food. Lovely cosy setting in an old building. We will definitely be back.

Very lovely brunch place we discovered on our roadtrip. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. We had the avocado on toast and fried chicken and pancakes and it was lovely and tasty - very good prices too. Highly recommended.

This is a modern cafe done right. In its popularity we had to wait for a seat to be available, but following the download of an app we could easily go away and shop and be notified when a table became available. At the end of our meal we were also able to use the QR code to view our table’s bill and select our own items to pay, saving us time and hassle. The food was equally as amazing, and the staff were lovely. Will absolutely be returning.

We went based on the reviews, as other reviews have stated there are no reservations offered but when we arrived and told it would be about 20 minutes wait, which we were happy with, they take your name and mobile number and add you to a wait list and you get a text when the table is ready, the system works well. We both had the American breakfast and it was nice, the pancake is very thick, the tater tots are mini hash browns but there are too many of them. We would return, there are other branches we'll try but will try something else on the menu. Staff here were excellent.

3 weeks ago we paid Josie’s a visit for my second time I was again astonished by the amazing food and service! The prices are excellent especially the coffee it’s without a doubt the best coffee in town, I even mentioned to girl working I’m surprised about the price because it’s incredibly cheap and is very nice! We will be back!

Great atmosphere, steady service with every cup of coffee handled with care and love. Great team always happy to help, especially with making a decision on what to chose out of the vast delicious pastries and bread that has been baked fresh everyday. Especially love the happy hour with 30% off on pastries and bread during the last hour before close. Will keep visiting 😊

Great place to sit and watch the world go by. The coffee is excellent and the cheese buns are lovely will defo be back.

Chris, Gaby & team are a pleasure to see on a daily basis. Best oat latte in town! Sourdough is ace too. Would fully recommend to one and all. Super kind to kids and dogs, too!

A Saturday morning visit to one of our favourite bakeries. The sticky buns here are very good, high quality and lovingly made. We picked a cinnamon bun and a lemon and raspberry. Both excellent, tasty and not too sweet. The cappuccino was also very nice, super hot and of good strength. Overall, this place is always worth a visit, especially if you fancy picking up one of their specialty loaves on the way out too, sliced or unsliced, take your pick.

Love this little gem for breakfast, best coffee in Petersfield with quality breakfast ingredients used. Also had dinner there, excellent.

Absolutely beautiful dinner this evening. Lovely blankets and hot water bottles to keep us warm. Large sun umbrella to keep us dry. Our 3 course meal was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious - beautifully complimented by wine. Lovely, friendly service and atmosphere. We really can't wait until the indoor Restaurant is permitted to open and are already planning our next visit. Huge thanks to Paul & Georgie for a lovely evening!

Great little find in the heart of Petersfield. Offering a nice menu with plenty of locally sourced products. Great food,nicely presented with good service.

Our family visited last night based on a recommendation from a former colleague. I think the magic begins as soon as you walk through the door. The decor and atmosphere is refreshingly unique and makes you feel at home. Brilliant choices on the menu and it’s even better than you imagine, when it arrives on your plate. Will one hundred percent make this my go to place in Petersfield and will recommend far and wide.

Went to Megs Kitchen for lunch earlier, staff are very friendly and a good selection of food choices. The cakes are delicious, would recommend. The only down side was there was not any baby changing facilities, however the toilet was very clean. Looking forward to returning.

This is the third time we have visited Meg’s Kitchen while we have been visiting Petersfield. The coffee is excellent, the service friendly and efficient, and the scones and cakes that we have had have all been fresh and light. It is in a great location beside the car park so very easy to pop in. Thoroughly recommended by myself and my husband. We will use it again.

Had a lovely time at Meg's kitchen today. The staff were so kind and helpful to my two young children. They also loved the attention! Such a lovely experience. We had the smashed avocado bagel and two of the kids picnic boxes. Thank you

I was extremely pleased with this place and I am so glad that I decided to venture inside this shop. The members of staff were absolutely wonderful and helpful. They were all keen to assist. They were exceptionally enthusiastic and friendly. There are also smoothies available. The Green Goddess was lovely. The freshly-made items behind the counter were labelled clearly as "vegetarian" or "vegan," which was helpful. Everything looked so delicious and healthy. I recommend Madeleine's Kitchen 100% and many thanks to the lovely members of staff who made our visit so pleasant. ***We attended this place again in February 2022. It was extremely crowded and once again, there were many delicious and fresh items from which to choose. I took some photographs of these items. Once again, the members of staff took lots of pride in their work and were able to make good recommendations.***

We were welcomed in a friendly professional smiling manner. It was warm and inviting. We did not have to wait long for our delicious hot coffee and large glasses of water. The fish and chips arrived promptly, generous helping for ‘small’, not that we minded! It was piping hot and really tasty, lovely fat crispy chips and nice fish, with a choice of mushy peas or fresh peas. Reasonably priced, we’ll be back Lou and Mutti

A lovely little bar situated at the bottom of the High Street, serving light bites/snacks inc' burgers, wings etc.with both hot & cold drinks. A small but substantial bar also includes 3 locally sourced cask ales & several keg craft varieties. On my several visits I have found the ale to be in excellent condition & temperature. Other than the excellent cakes, I didn't try the food so cannot comment, although if appearances count for anything it did look good. If you're a real ale/ craft ale drinker this place is definitely worth a visit. Recommended. Update: 15/2/24 I visited to day & im pleased to report that the high standards are still being maintained. The toilets were clean, that bar & outside areas were likewise. The only downside for me (which is a personal preference) was the cask ales, which we're all too traditional & malty. I'd personally prefer a more hoppy variety. That said they we're all well kept & in good condition. Applause to the team for their consistancy

Amazing establishment. Food was so delicious and piping hot. Latte was one of the best I've ever had. Staff were very inviting and attentive. Amazing. Would recommend to anyone wanting a character filled pub with homemade qualities. Perfect evening. Thanks Townhouse!

Had a weekday lunch for two and wasn't disappointed. The food was fab, good portion sizes, and reasonably priced. Staff were cool and efficient under pressure. We ate the snide but there are plenty of outside seating. Would highly recommend l.

Lovely Tea Room with a lovely view. Staff were cheerful, the place was very clean, the food was delicious. It has a lovely big garden for summer visits and big windows to look out on a great view for the winter. Reasonable prices too.

A definite must if you in the local area. Loads of parking in an ideal location. Nice menu with lots of choice. I opted for the egg mayo with a little salad. Great coffee. Thank you

Halloween afternoon tea for the children. Very popular at lunchtime. All food served was to a good standard. Very pleasant service.
