I really like this veterinary practice in Risdale Road, they are very caring and thorough each and every time .

Superb service for our rescue cat. All the staff are friendly and welcoming, taking good care of our cat. Appointments are easy to book online and we feel that our pet is in the best hands. 100% recommended.

I booked my consultation very easily online. It is a very friendly practice towards both pets and their owners. I and my cat were made very welcome when we arrived. After a short wait the vet came out to take us into the treatment room. This was a routine checkup but the consultation was very thorough, and the vet explained everything she was doing, and my cat stayed very calm throughout.

Very professional and helpful. The doctor was very patient and kind . I was nervous for my dog's first visit but I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely recommend.

I have been using Avenues for about 20 years for all my pets. They are so kind and even my reactive dog is happy and doesn’t react to any of the staff. Always made to welcome and they have been really helpful with insurance claims. They genuinely care and have the best advice.

Really lovely vets here. We had been taking our dog here since we got him 7 years ago and being a Frenchie had no end of problems. They have always been superb and accommodating and not just there to take your money. The animals best interest really are at heart. The vet we usually saw left recently but saw a guy called Antonio who helped us immensely with kindness and compassion in the awful circumstances of having to have our beloved boy put to sleep. The reception staff are very busy but always helpful and polite and happy to help. I highly recommend Companion Care. Thank you all x

Ever since we moved into the area with our little Jack Russell called Ronnie, everyone at Medivet have been absolutely phenomenal. From his 6-month check-ups to his quarterly flea and worming treatments as well as any ad-hoc/emergency visits we've needed them for. All the staff are absolutely incredible from helping us process pet insurance claims as well as ensuring that Ronnie is absolutely adored even though he'd prefer to be somewhere else!

Transferred to Medivet very recently, very happy with the practice, lovely helpful and friendly staff. Bertie health taken very seriously, would highly recommend.

Friendly and caring vets. Make you feel confident in the care provided and don't push treatments and tests that are not necessary as happened with our previous vet. Very happy with them.

These people can't be praised enough. The staff are all friendly and professional. The location is a bit out of the way but is a lovely setting. But most of all they are proper vets more concerned about the welfare of the animals above all else. I refuse to take my pets anywhere else. So should you.

I’ve been to a number of vets throughout the years and Hope have set the bar incredibly high. Took our new puppy there after bringing him home at 8 weeks. Every interaction I have had with Hope Vets has been excellent. As a first time dog owner, the team at Hope Vets have been so helpful, and provided reassurance and guidance when needed. No question is too silly or unimportant to them. I can't underline how nice it is to be dealing with such people. Our pup is very young and was invited to Hope Vets free puppy socialisation classes. The format of the classes is quite informal, which makes for a nice and chilled atmosphere. Three sessions are provided, taking between 30-60 mins depending on the energy levels of the pups. This was an excellent opportunity to help our puppy get used to meeting other dogs in a safe environment. Gentle encouragement, toys and even some yummy treats were provided. It was also an opportunity to meet with owner puppy owners to exchange stories and advice. Quick shout out to Lizzy who was running the classes, we found them very useful! I cannot fault the facilities or services provided. Aside from the socialisation classes, our pup's first check up was also stress free and informative. On site you can find ample parking. Inside, it's also possible to browse a small selection of Kong toys, lickimats, and pet food. Prices are all reasonable.

Have been with them for about a year now but today my French bulldog had her tooth out and they were so thorough and have provided me with so much information! Thank you for making Binky feel safe and for reassuring myself!

Lovely & compassionate staff. We had to use them recently for our bulldog who’s experiencing some eye problems. The service we received here was amazing and you can tell how much they care for your animal. Such a wonderful practice. All staff are so welcoming and compassionate. We have had 2 dogs as ‘clients’ of theirs and you can tell they truly love animals. This is so important as they always have their best interests in mind in all that they do!

I cannot express how highly I valued the care, attention and empathy I received from this superb local vets. Vets for Pets in Hemel Hempstead cared for my very much loved 14yo cat when she had a lump removed before Christmas 2020. I was very worried, but the vet, Javier Bernal reassured me from beginning to end of her treatment. From the initial consultation and the news it didn't look good - Javier took the time to talk to me with such great empathy - I can tell he really loves cats. He was clear and completely upfront about my costing options and the route for treatment - and made me feel 100% confident that he was doing everything possible to help my little cat I am so grateful to Javier and the team at Vets for Pets Hemel. They worked with me to find the best and most cost effective solution for my cat given my personal circumstances and at all times I felt supported in making tough decisions. They do FANTASTIC local work for pets, and at reasonable prices. I didn't at any point feel pressured, judged or out of control with the costs. After a successful biopsy, my little cat is now home and recovering beautifully and back to her soppy self. I couldn't have asked for a better team to take care of her. Javier is an incredibly thorough and kind vet. We are so grateful that our cat is under his guidance and care. Receptionists are also lovely and have always treated us with kindness and respect.

I had to put my poor cat down here a few weeks ago. It was really traumatic and heartbreaking, but everyone here was so nice. I just wanted to say thank you so so much, for being so lovely and supportive. That was a really horrible day for me and you were all so nice. Had a very poorly dog this week and Barton Lodge looked after her with great care and compassion. The Vets and nurses are exceptional. Christina the vet was fantastic and very caring. All the staff get 10/10 from Tavi the cavapoo. Thank you all very much

I can thoroughly recommend this practice, which we have been using for four years with our cat. The reception staff are kind and helpful and the vet and vet nursing staff are caring and thorough. It feels like a small practice in the way that the staff get to know you and your pet. The range of services and payment plans they provide are useful, and the 24 hour vet service in Watford is also fantastic. Thank you.

Vet station vet was really good with my tuxy boy recently when he needed a little check up for some flea meds; she also administered a worming tablet - which is some feat as he can be a spicy boy! With this vet (our first time seeing her), the down the throat part was over in seconds and just left my boy swishing his tail a little 😺 Match 20th 2025: Update - Marissa the vet is always lovely and yesterday seeing her again with my Tuxy boy cat and how she so easily administers his worming tablet, was a pleasure to see! She always makes time for a chat and catch up plus to check on how my cat is doing after having had x9 teeth out last year! The Vet Station are friendly kind professional and do not try to charge ‘extras’. Best vets ever ~ thank you!"

Amazing experience! I’m so glad I decided to move my dog at the Vet Station. You can tell they are truly caring about our little pets. My frenchie had stomach issues and Martin helped us solve the issue, within a few days he was almost 100% recovered. Also, he felt really relaxed comparing to how he was at the previous vet. The registration process is really easy and the treatments are not overpriced. The lady at the reception is really nice as well. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now.
