Away with work and it was decided that Chinese was the order of the evening. Had a quick look on Google and this place popped up as being an all you can eat but the food is freshly cooked to order. So off we went, a 5 minute drive and found parking behind the restaurant which gives an hours free parking but after 7pm it's free. We arrived at 6pm so got the hours free and went in. We hadn't booked and it was busy, but the lovely staff managed to fit us in and explained how it worked and off we went. Honestly I've never been in a Chinese restaurant where the quality of the food was so good and served so quickly. Everything was hot & tasty, and top notch. The staff were just brilliant, especially the lady with the glasses who recommended the hot and sour soup and it truly was lovely. If you're in the area, give it a go, you won't be disappointed. š„

Came here to try the buffet for Ā£24 it was most enjoyable
Rating: 4 / 5
Visited this restaurant on a Sunday, early evening with 2 friends. Was immediately struck by how noisy it was by the little children who were also dining there. Unfortunately, for the first hour, our conversation was interrupted by absolute screeching. However, the service was impeccable, the staff were quick, attentive and friendly and the food was very good. This is " Eat as much as you like" restaurant for one set price and we all thought we'd ordered plenty as we were all very full but the waiters kept saying, "do you want to order more" ? We did find room for a sweet and this is charged extra for. The whole experience was a good one only let down by the noisy kids but would go back again but perhaps at a later time in the evening š

A great buffet at Ā£25 per person on a Saturday or Ā£24 any other day of the week. The food was great, especially the salt shrimp. It was westernised Chinese food as opposed to authentic/traditional cuisine, which is the only reason that I can't give 5 stars. Moon in moon is a great restaurant, and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend you visit!

Rating: 4.4 (242) Price Level:
A right little boozer where the staff and the locals both seem welcoming and friendly. Not a big place, by any stretch of the imagination, but cosy all the same. Food is available from outside eatery they seem to have a deal with. The Guinness was excellent as was the Brakspear Gravity.
Rating: 5 / 5
Lovely pub, rules are quite simple and clear and it doesnāt help when people turn up with beer in plastic glasses from other bars. Says it all really!! Maybe certain people shouldnāt be so liberal in calling others racist or facist, I think thatās a slander offence too or does it only apply one way?

A community meeting place with an outdoor beer garden and lots of other amenities, the toilets are spotlessly clean and the staff are polite and competent. Definitely a pub to visit whilst in Sunbury village, you won't be disappointed!

What a great place! Only dropped in randomly but will definitely be back when I can. Love the food, staff are crazy but I like that. Coffee out of this world.

Working in the local area, i found Little Italy, walked in at 4.45pm and was greated with a smile ! Food was to take away and was very nice, especially the lemon cake. Overall a very nice experience.

Ordered the Italian breakfast. Service was quick and attentive. Small local cafe, good value for money. Would recommend some music playing in the background to generate some atmosphere.

Don't let this tiny corner cafe deceive you. It serves amazing desserts, gelato and coffee. Its our favourite cafe in the village. We love the warmth you bring to the little village.

Staff always so friendly and welcoming. Reasonably priced and good food. It's a small family run pub so you really feel cosy and looked after. Tracey is amazing and Tony the Landlord is just so affable and really ensures your wellbeing and comfort. Beer garden is lovely in summer and being closed off, it is great for kids! Will be visiting this little gem a lot!
Rating: 4 / 5
This quaint little pub is well worth a visit if you're in the area and want a quick refresher. Popped in after the colour run and they were very hospitable and friendly. The service was a little slow but I do think they were overwhelmed by the amount of people that chose to come by after the run, I dont think slow service is the norm here. We really enjoyed our drink in the beer garden, should I ever be out that way again I'll definitely stop by!

The Hare & Hounds Sunbury on Thames

Rating: 4.2 (420) Price Level:
Our first time in this pub. Went looking for a vegetarian Sunday Roast. Never easy to find & almost always disappointing. Not in this case though! The veggie Roast here was great! served with 4 veg, nicely cooked, lovely seasoned roast potatoes & Yorkshire puddings. They had all the meat options too.
Rating: 5 / 5
thank you to Donald, Kirsty and the team. We had our baby shower here, and I came in a couple of times before the event to confirm arrangements, they always had time for me. On the day we were able to move the furniture about to suit our decor, and the service was great. Everyone had a great time, and the private garden to the function room keeps you separate from the rest of the pub. Great location for a function. Thank you

The Hare and Hounds in Sunbury is a gem of a pub! From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for enjoying a pint. The staff were friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. The beer selection was top-notch, and the pint I had was just what I needed to unwind. I highly recommend this pub for anyone looking for a great place to relax and enjoy a drink. Iāll definitely be back!
Rating: 4 / 5
Enjoyable Sunday dinner. Easy to book and then alter our booking as we were earlier than expected. Good sized dinner, all had the beef. Parsnips and sprouts touch harder than we like but that's a personal choice. Good selection of beers on tap plus alcohol free Guinness š. All at good prices and service. Would recommend it.
Rating: 4 / 5
The Sunday roast was good quality food but was served up luke warm. We had the meals replaced with no problem. Was confused why it was served up like this as it wasn't busy while we were there.

The Red Lion Shepperton
16 Russell Rd, Shepperton TW17 9HX, UK | Pub P: 01932 244526
Rating: 4.3 (1072) Price Level:
A fantastic place for food or just a drink. The space is beautiful and varied in layout. Staff are very welcoming and enjoy having dogs indoors too. Food was delicious and freshly made. Staff are so professional and caring. I love this place and can't wait to come back again

Great pub with amazing classic pub food. Our party opted for roast dinners and the food did not disappoint, it was dinner as expected. The portions were really good size and the beef slices were cooked to perfection (medium rare) with crispy roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pud. Root vegetables are served speratly and they all we prepared really good. Desserts also were amazing. There is a kids menu also for under 14 with classic pub options. Highly recommended.

I visited The Red Lion on Saturday 20th July 2024. My Mum has a lifelong friend who lives nearby, so we chose the Red Lion so that they could catch up and celebrate their recent coming of age birthdays of 90 years! The staff were fantastic. So attentive, friendly and caring. They truly helped make this a special occasion for these ladies. Happy Birthday was sung, the atmosphere & setting was lovely, and food was great. I cannot thank the team enough for creating such a wonderful memorable day.
Rating: 4 / 5
The waiter was lovely and super chilled and was helpful. And a good atmosphere for Sunday lunch. My chicken with trimmings (Ā£20) was okay. I had much better Sunday roast in other places. Good location as you can go for a nice walk along the Thames after. I would recommend the pub!

The Phoenix Sunbury-on-Thames
26-28 Thames St, Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 6AF, UK | Pub P: 01932 785358
Rating: 4.3 (503) Price Level:
Great unpretentious pub with nice food and pleasant staff. I made two visits - on the first night I hadBrakespere ale which was pretty average. There was Directors available but itās a bit strong for driving. I turned to Guinness, which was excellent.
Rating: 4 / 5
We fancied tapas and our usual venue was booked solid at lunch time. A quick Google search for tapas found the Phoenix, plus it was by the river. They don't take bookings but upon arrival we found several suitable tables outside. The tapas menu was limited but what we ordered was very tasty, they had one of my favourite tapas; shallow fried chorizo in olive oil. If eating outside, you order and pay for food and drink at the outside bar.

Amazing food with a good variety. Will be visiting again, great pub with a river view Good value for money
Rating: 5 / 5
Popped in for a drink on the terrace. Good selection of beers on draught. We sat outside on the front terrace benches. Plenty of space with a convenient outside bar. Staff are all friendly and efficient.

Iāve given this pub 5-Stars for a number of reasons. Firstly, itās a proper old-Skool pub which is refreshing amongst all the fake chain pubs. Secondly itās a great location, large beer garden thatās a cracking spot on the river, with benches right down to the water. Thirdly, good choice of drinks always served quickly which is becoming a rarity with hospitality staff in such short supply since Covid. And last but not least, the food is excellent too. We took my little boy for lunch last weekend, his portion of nuggets, chips and peas was spot on. We had tapas which was lovely, weāll definitely be frequenting more often.

The Swan
50 Manor Rd, Walton-on-Thames KT12 2PF, UK | Pub P: 01932 225964
Rating: 4.3 (1403) Price Level:
Really nice gastro pub by the riverside. The food us good the service is spot on and the pub itself is modern classic. So what more of an excuse do you need to pop down for a family Sunday lunch. Oh and it's right next to the river - with a garden that overlooks the swans, ducks and geese floating by. Just remember to book ahead if you go at a busy time of day/week.

Iām loving the new ambiance, it feels like the place is at last living up to its provenance, I donāt know who to thank but finally there is a local for locals with fun and kindness . Wendy is a fantastic asset old school for all the right reasons . Thank you swan , (Iām the one that likes the seat by the fire!) Xxxx

Fabulous location next to Thames at Walton. Plenty of seating inside and out. Usual pub grub on menu. Spotted something different: crab and prawn tagliatelle arrabiatta which I chose. It was an interesting dish, unfortunately there was very little crab, still it was a worthy effort at something out of the run of the mill. The guy who had the soup was very happy. The guy who had cumberland sausage complained that they contained too much bread. I can't verify. Very pleasant garden area, helpful staff. Recommended for lunch with or without children.

5 of us had Christmas lunch at the Swan. The pub was dressed beautifully and had a wonderful Christmas feel. We were seated promptly and drinks orders taken. Although we made it explicitly clear no pork on the booking form, and again when we arrived with the waitress. All 4/5 meals came out with pigs in blankets. The staff were over apologetic and sent our meals back, all of which were replaced in a timely manner. The food was delicious, well presented everyone cleared their plates. Only negative would be the cold Yorkshireās puddings. The staff were attentive, courteous and all in good spirit.

Popped in for a bite to eat. The scotch egg and sausage roll were really lovely and fresh. Wendy our waitress was friendly and attentive and we had some pleasant conversation and laughs. Will definitely be returning to try the food on the main menu when we have more time.

The Running Horse
Groveley Rd, Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 7LB, UK | Bar & Grill P: 020 8890 3932
Rating: 4 (556) Price Level:
Just come back to the Running Horse for a bite to eat as we have the Sizzlers App so we had a discount for our whole order after using our app each time we come in, Remi was the chef today and every single bite of our food was delicious, Iāve taken a few pics but weād already started eating it as it was so nice! So lovely, so filling, everything was hot, the wings were the best, so crunchy, lovely sauces that came with it too! Thoroughly recommend!! The staff behind the bar, Ed and Jason were very helpful (and patient as we had our children with us making everything longer!)
Rating: 5 / 5
We came to the Running Horse yesterday (Sunday 19th January) where had a family get together. The staff were great, very knowledgeable about the menu & allergy information. The food came out quickly despite being a large table & all was really well cooked, no complaints from anyone. We have booked again for April. Very impressed
Rating: 5 / 5
First time visitor to The Running Horse, came in Sunday (30th June) afternoon / evening time to watch the football with a few drinks, and have some food. Genuine welcome feeling from start to finish, with all the staff friendly and happy to help with anything needed. Loads of space inside and out, perfect for when the suns out for a bit to chill in the quiet garden with a cold pint in hand. Lots of seats reserved for the England game, but equally loads free so had no problem at all getting a top spot to watch and chill for a few hours. Ordering at the bar and through the app - both just as good and no problems at all using either - quick service on both so no complaints at all. Had the classic grilled chicken burger with fries - was hot, fresh and full of flavour - great price at Ā£7.49! I review quite a few places on Google, and should point out this is not a stuck-up high end posh pub so isn't going to be to everyone's taste. Personally - I love it here, down to earth friendly people with good prices. Conclusion: 5* all round. Will definitely return!
Rating: 5 / 5
Lovely friendly staff, food was very nice and very reasonably priced. Even when I asked for more mayo, the waiter came out with a brand new bottle that I had to take the cover off, so I knew it was the real mayo and not bulk poured into the brand bottle.

Had my mum's wake her and twice as many people turned up. The staff threw more tables together and made us feel very welcome. All food was on time, hot and tasty. The drinks flowed and a celebration of life was great.

We recently celebrated our friendās birthday at Delhi Chef, and it was an unforgettable experience. This restaurant offers an exceptional array of authentic Indian dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The warm ambiance and friendly, knowledgeable staff made the celebration even more special. We started with the aloo tiki with chickpeas, which was perfectly spiced and flavourful. The veg noodles were a delightful surprise, with a great mix of vegetables and spices. The pav bhaji was rich and buttery, a classic comfort food done right. The roti and naan were soft and fresh, perfect for scooping up the delicious dal, which was creamy and satisfying. The kadai chicken stood out with its tender pieces of chicken and robust, spicy sauce. The chili paneer was another highlight, offering a perfect balance of heat and tang. We also enjoyed the poppadoms, which were crispy and came with a variety of tasty chutneys. Overall, Delhi Chef exceeded our expectations. The authentic flavours, generous portions, and reasonable prices made for an excellent dining experience. I highly recommend Delhi Chef for anyone seeking a fantastic Indian meal and a great place to celebrate special occasions.

Fab authentic cuisine. I've been here a few times now and everytime the food has been amazing! Such a great menu and good service. Very polite and welcoming. Good food portions indeed! I love the indoor setting and the plates they serve in. Will be coming back for sure. Went here for our work Christmas do today and we all had a blast! We ordered several veg and meat options, thali's drinks, all went down a treat. Even got a chicken tikka and paneer curry takeaway which the kids loved! Good value for money too. :-)
