This company was recommended to me by several friends and I highly recommend them too. I have been using Acorn Tutors for over a year to support my children (12 and 10) with Maths and Literacy. Aim Higher has honestly been one of the most helpful teaching experiences that I have ever had. At the start of my first year in 6th form I was struggling with my A level Mathematics, and decided that tuition would be helpful. Initially expecting the typical homework setting tuition experience, I was pleasantly surprised by a structured, and well thought out teaching plan to guide me through the course. Whilst learning at school is great, often it can feel rather impersonal and distant. For me this created difficulty as I personally work much better with a more direct and personal teaching style. AHTS provides a tailored and flexible tuition style and I feel that not only did it greatly help with my academic grades, but also facillitated the development of core skills such as time management, the ability to structure and space out work, and generally grow my ability to work as an independent learner. I have been attending aim higher tuition from year 11 for maths and I would say it is one of the best tuition services. Uzair helped me attain a grade 8 in maths GCSE (from a grade 6 in my mocks), and an A prediction for maths A Level. He explains and teaches very hard topics clearly and goes through difficult examples step-by-step which really built up my exam technique. Although tuition was online for several months, I still found it very helpful. In general, I found the teaching is at a very high standard and this service is a very good value for money. I definitely recommend this tuition to anyone taking GCSE or A level maths.

Aldo (chemistry and physics) and Siddharth (maths) are unbelievable. I rang Aldo in the summer before our twins' GCSEs for tutoring with them. Aldo and Siddharth have been an incredibly positive force in our lives - the twins' scores have gone up, but moreover their confidence, their study patterns, their approach to learning has soared. We have a weekly schedule of learning that the twins follow and I can say that Aldo and Siddharth are absolutely the best decision we have made regarding tutoring. My daughters have had tutoring since 2018 from Target Tutoring where they have progressed over the years with excellent tutoring and guidance from Janet. Term by term, I have seen my daughters achieve great results from Janet's teaching methods and also her attention to detail has played an important role in their progression. My wife and I engaged Janet's Target Tutoring services for our daughter commencing from January 2020.  The primary aim was to prepare her for entrance exams for 3 independent schools to be taken in January 2021 but also to supplement her ongoing Year 5 education as well. My daughter enjoyed the sessions immensely and these have helped her both develop her academic abilities across the board and grow in confidence as a result.  Janet works very well in creating a team environment in her tutoring, as my daughter felt supported throughout her sessions.  We also found Janet to be excellent at communicating throughout the disruption wrought by the pandemic, keeping us updated and also working with children, when she was able to, to the safest possible environment.  Outside of these periods of disruption, Janet was adept at concentrating on key areas given sessions were lost to lockdown and also having a regular dialogue (being very responsive on email) as to the aims and objectives of sessions. My daughter found the expert guidance on entrance exam preparation to be especially valuable, particularly with regards to number codes and English comprehension, which feature very strongly in most entrance exams and can often prove challenging to children   My daughter's ability to solve number code puzzles logically and quickly is truly impressive. In terms of Janet's tutoring, the proof is in the pudding, as they say: my daughter received offers from all 3 schools and commences her secondary education at her first choice school in September 2021.  As you would expect, my family cannot recommend Janet highly enough.

She started in year 5 and I was a bit concerned as a lot of the children start much earlier, given the level of competition. Monica has been extremely approachable from the onset. She has been so supportive, she willingly gave my daughter all the extra time she needed so that she can come up to speed. She is very positive, encouraging and motivating to the children while also maintaining the level of discipline required. We had tried two other very renowned classes in the Earley area but my daughter did not enjoy as their style of teaching was not engaging enough and they failed to understand each child and their potential.
