I can't rate this Kumon centre highly enough. After reading an article about women not doing as well in the workplace because they lack confidence in maths and figures I wanted to ensure I equipped my daughter with maths confidence.
She was an average maths student struggling a little with multiplications etc I could see as maths got tougher at school she would start to fall behind so I looked at ways to help her - Kumon!
Carol the tutor is amazing at what she does! My daughter has been going here for almost a year now and her maths has improved so much. She is now flying through long multiplications. She has been moved into top set maths at school too!
She completes a math paper everyday which takes about 20 minutes and goes to the centre once a week. Sometimes she doesn't want to do the paper but of course has to, so this too is a good lesson that daily practice leads to confidence and results.
If you are thinking of a maths programme I would highly recommend Kumon and this particular centre run by Carol!

UPDATE - my daughter was 12ish when she started Kumon. And she did it for several years. She is now 19. She went on to do a Maths A-level in Statistics and aced it. I never thought in a million years that my daughter would be doing a maths A-level! Proud! I’m 100% certain that it was the confidence that Carol and Kumon gave her that supported her doing better at school and progressing. Thanks Carol!

My son who is 6 years old has been taking Kumon math lessons for 1,5 years now. He always loved numbers and I wanted to support him a bit more. He struggled with short attention span and staying focused for a period of time. I think doing Kumon math daily helped immensely with some focus time, self-discipline and to build his confidence. Alessandra, his instructor is brilliant, she managed to get him excited about daily math, he looks forward to her encouraging messages on his Kumon connect app. Alessandra introduced paperless homework (lifesaver for parents), also managed to secure a lovely venue space for children to attend weekly. I’m very happy with our instructor, venue and I strongly recommend it to all parents who want to help and nurture their kids math skills.

We have been doing Kumon with Carol for 2 years plus and the transformation has been amazing. My daughter went from tears and sulks to dreaming about it!! She even declared last week that it “was quite cool actually” and has made maths at school so easy! It has also increased her confidence, she has loved and flourished from the challenge and has transferred the discipline she has learned from Kumon to her homework and school work. It has made her feel empowered and responsible for her learning. All that at 6 years old!

This is thanks to Carol for her patient and empathetic teaching style whilst still demanding commitment and performance from the student. Even during lockdown, it help provide much needed structure.

Having worked with Alessandra for over a month, I was pleasantly surprised with how easygoing she is. The environment she creates makes being at Kumon enjoyable rather than a chore. This approach brings out the best from myself as a worker.

Since Alessandra started with our group I have seen a huge improvement with my son.
In the past he would cry and/or sulk everytime he sat down to do his kumon work, but now it is a part of his routine and he is so proud of himself when he does well.

The change in venue has been great for not only the children but also for us parents.
The last venue was very dark, dismal and cold without adequate toilet facilities. The Jean Stokes building is bright, airy, clean and it's a much better working environment for him.

Thank you Alessandra and Kumon for everything that you've done to provide a safe, friendly and professional working environment. It's always a joy for all of us to see her smiling face every week!
