I contacted John via Trust A Trader and I couldn't be happier with the service provided. John was helpful from the get go. He was very clear with what was needed and the cost was very reasonable. We are able to agree a date for the works quite quickly! On the day his team were friendly, they talked me through what they were doing at each stage, showed me the end finish and made some further changes on request. They safely removed old sleepers and replaced with new without any damage to the surrounding areas. It looks great. I would highly recommend John and his team.

John and his team at Greens Gardening were fantastic from start to finish. Me and my neighbours needed a new fence after a recent storm. John was able to fit us in within a week and completed the whole job in less than a day. The team were incredibly professional and polite. John & the team knew exactly what needed doing in fixing my fence, which required timber posts with added cement foundations. I’d had problems with a previous company. We also added a gate at the rear end and the guys did a few extra bits in clearing some stuff away. Very responsive on the communication side which is an added extra. Lovely little spot, unassuming amongst the big City buildings. Site of the old St Pancras church, this is a loving commemorative area with beautiful wood carvings on benches. Peaceful and elegant.

Take a closer look at the wood-carving. Can you name all five of the characters being stewed in the pot? And do us all a favour and pick up any litter, eh?

Hidden away in the back streets near Bank station, this little gem is a lovely place to contemplate life, eat lunch or just stop and sit for a wile. The carved seats are parts of the pews from the old church which add a lovely ambiance to the setting.

Pocket park with intriguing wood carving by city and guilds students. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Super impressed with Asen's professionalism and the quality of work of his team in replacing our back garden fence which was destroyed by foxes and storms (see before & after photos). Asen was clear and prompt in his communication throughout, managed expectations well and delivered on commitments. The team was efficient in their work (completed the work in a bit over half a day), considerate of the house (covered the floor to protect it whilst moving the material in and out of the house) and very tidy - they even tidied up the garden on the way out! St George's Gardens is a peaceful green space in central London, offering a unique blend of history and tranquility. Originally an 18th-century burial ground, it’s now a public park with winding paths, mature trees, and benches, perfect for a quiet break from the city’s usual pace. The garden’s history adds a reflective atmosphere, with ivy-covered tombstones, monuments, and inscriptions that give a glimpse into London’s past. It’s a charming spot for a gentle walk, a lunch break, or simply a moment to recharge, with plenty of shaded areas under the trees. Throughout the year, the gardens have their own seasonal beauty, with blooming flowers in spring and autumn colors adding warmth to the historic scenery. It’s a hidden gem for anyone looking for a calm, thoughtful space in the heart of London – an ideal retreat for city dwellers and visitors alike.

Another of London's old burial grounds that has survived to become a green open space. We should be pleased that London has so many . Many of them are only known to the local residents or nearby workers & see far less footfall from tourists. St. George's was one of the first of London's graveyards to serve that purpose without actually being attached to a church ( 1713 ). By the mid 19th c it was full & became a garden. There are decorative wrought iron gateways at both ends of the garden with information boards which are worth reading. Plenty of benches to sit on , the lawns are studded with chest tombs & in one corner an obelisk. Also headstones up against the walls. There is an old drinking fountain near some seating bays which are more secluded due to surrounding , clipped hedging. Also a statue of Euterpe, the Muse of instrumental music. Usual mix of users when I visited ; dog walkers , people socialising or reading plus the inevitable professional drinkers , dope smokers & addicts that habitually use these little gardens. Although a very pleasant spot it is somewhat scruffy , weedy & litter in some parts. One side borders some rather dismal buidings that may be attached to the adjacent Coram's Fields & metal barriers block access to the very edge of the gardens. Here is a tangle of undergrowth & ivy sprinkled with litter. In one place an ornamental urn sits sits on a pedestal.

The ‘gardens’ and ‘graveyard’ are somewhat inseparable. In winter it looks a bit bare, but the seeds of spring are evident. Enter either via the stairs to the church or the semi-steep road into the gardens. Seemingly recently re-tarmaced, there isn’t a clear distinction between road and path (which are wide enough for a vehicle). As it’s black, it seems a bit like walking on a road around trees. However, as you go round the back of the church it becomes much more path-like, winding and you see more headstones. The graves are surprising and leave you with questions: what/who is that odd block under a stone cover with a fence around it? Why are those grave stones so close together by the tree? What about those other ones in the corner that look like dominoes? Take those questions into the church and the displays on the left answer them all! Sadly the big tree growing around the gravestones has fallen over and been surrounded with fencing - presumably as the council figures out how to safely and respectfully remove it and who pays. There are also some funky trees to enjoy - how on earth did they grow like they were spirals? One even seems to be resting an arm on a tomb. It’s worth 20 minutes of walking around and is -I’m sure- a lovely place for lunch in warmer weather. Much of the gardens is grave/tomb free, in case that worries you. Kids are most welcome, even school groups, all easily able to respecting the space.

A really simple park with a church, a few tombstones, a sundial, and a nice grassy path around the grounds. Worth visiting, but not much to write home about.

Gorgeous! I was looking for things to do around Kings Cross and saw this on the map. With limited service, I couldn’t look up too much about it, and it was such a lovely surprise! Absolutely beautiful spot. Well-paved pathways- a woman in a wheelchair and her caretaker were having what looked like a lovely conversation, so it’s friendly to all varieties of human movement. So sad to see the Hardy Tree has fallen, but it laying on the ground with its plethora of gravestones surrounding it seems symbolic of this beautiful, serene ground.
