I looked for an essay writing summer tutor for my children as I feel the English system does not focus on teaching children how to present analytical thinking in written form but rather mainly on content. It seems to be assumed that the children will find their way to writing good essays (and clearly many do). However, coming from the American system, in which the process of HOW to write a good essay is taught almost as a standalone subject, I felt that my children would be best served going into a writing task with the strongest possible toolset so that the ideas and ultimately what to write would become their only challenge. I completed the Essay Crash Course during the summer before my final year at university. I hugely benefited from the process as I learned skills to finally understand what a university essay demands in order to achieve a first. This course closed the huge gap in teaching how to write a university level essay. I now feel equipped to complete my final year and hope to increase my marks from a 2:1 to a first as a result of the valuable tools learned during the course.
