As a secondary teacher, I can wholeheartedly recommend Lee. His statistical approach is very reassuring to parents, and he knows his stuff! He also has a pragmatic approach to teaching 10 year old boys, and knows that a lollipop can go a long way towards motivating them. My son enjoyed his tuition, despite not being a school- lover. We also saw an improvement in his school performance which I have no doubt is owing to the tuition over the year.

My daughter attended the 11+ tutoring in year5, from the first day she loved the sessions. Her abilities and confidence grew throughout the year, the support and belief showed by Lee helped immensely. Great advice on exam techniques, what to expect on the day and a big plus was the children being able to attend mock exams in a very similar set up to what they experience on the day with individually focussed feedback. Can’t recommend Lee and the team at Brighter Minds enough, whatever the outcome, what the children gain through their experience will stand them in good stead for the future.

My daughter missed out on lots of school through covid and was falling behind, she had anxiety about any after school activities but Emily is so caring, softly spoken she really connected with Jessica and now Jessica would prefer learning with Emily then going to school. We enlisted Emily's service as The Reading Doctor to help our 8 year old with reading and spelling. School had noticed that they needed some extra support, and so, alongside doing more at home, we found Emily - and we are so glad we did! Emily took time to listen to what we needed, and develop an individual plan for our child. The reading room in her garden is cozy, warm, and made for learning and fun. Our child particularly enjoyed the games inbetween tasks, too. Emily's calm, patient and caring manner is ideal to help children along with reading and spelling, and she instils confidence and self-belief too. We started with Emily in November last year, and are finishing now in February. This is earlier than anticipated because our child has gone up to the required level at school and is a confident, happy reader! Thank you, Emily!

We couldn’t be more grateful to Pete and Franny for their exceptional support in helping our son prepare for the 11+ exam. He began attending their weekly hubs in the September of Year 5 and also participated in their mock tests and intensive coaching sessions during the holidays. What a wonderful tutor! Full of enthusiasm and energy. He is a natural and passionate teacher explaining complex mathematical formula in a simple language that was set just right for my child. He was incredibly knowledgeable and up to date with the curriculum and content of different exam boards. He would always give 100% in each and every session. Leaving homework and tailoring each session to the students requirements. We had sessions once a fortnight to facilitate our budget which Damian was more than happy to accommodate. Nothing was ever too much trouble. An incredible tutor who I would always feel comfortable with in our home!

Damian has been an invaluable part of my son’s EOTAS education for the past 4 years and at times I don’t know what we would have done without him. He has taken my son from not being engaged at all to actively enjoying lessons. He has taken time to understand him and how to get the best from him. Jane tutored both my sons from years 4-6 and I would highly recommend her. She is calm, professional & organised and excelled in developing the boys’ confidence. I cannot thank Jane enough for all the help with maths she has given my daughter over quite a few years now . Jane is the only person who has the ability to make maths understandable, particularly for those children who struggle to make any sense of it . Jane has tutored 2 of my children for the 11+ grammar school exams and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Both of my children lacked confidence in their ability and Jane made the lessons fun and something they both looked forward to.
