Acorn replaced three large and unusually shaped windows in a conservation area. They submitted the details of the planning application and dealt with enquiries from officials of the district council. They drew up detailed plans and kept us informed at every stage. When the time came for the work itself a highly trained and skilled carpenter came and worked for four days, overcoming some difficult adjustments on our listed building. The result was great satisfaction with the quality of work and their attention to detail in every aspect of the project. The wonderful carpenter who came was a delight to have around and explained every stage of his work. I cannot speak too highly of the service and the result.

Couldn't recommend Derek enough. He is a true craftsman and a pleasure to do business with. Absolutely brilliant at communicating everything clearly, and was very quick at designing and fitting the cupboards just how we wanted them. He was also very honest and transparent about payment. I will definitely be getting him to design more for our house in the future, the shelves and cupboards are great.

We cannot believe our luck in stumbling across Derek on FB whilst looking for a carpenter. From the very first email to the last brush of paint Derek has been utterly outstanding. Everything he does is with love, care and total precision which is only narrowly beaten by his knowledge and expertise. He is the epitome of excellence and we couldn’t have asked for more. Derek’s work is simply flawless and we cannot recommend him enough.

I had a hideous 50's built in wardrobe that needed replacing, Derek made suggestions and sketches of what I wanted, measured up, built and delivered it, all flawlessly painted to my specs two weeks later, he had it all fitted and finished in a day, you would never know any work had been done, everything was spotless. Absolutely delighted. (I should add I'm his brother so you won't trust me but check out the other reviews...!!)

I asked Chris if he could fit a couple of doors for me. He made some really good suggestions as well as having reasonable rates. Chris is a brilliant carpenter, really reliable and always leaves the job clean and tidy. I am really glad I found him and am looking forward to finding more projects for him.

We asked Chris to replace our banister rail. He turned up when he said he would to measure and estimate and again to complete the work He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Good quality materials, a job well done.

Chris is a brilliant, professional individual and his work is not only stunningly looking but his work ethics are perfect! He has done several jobs for us including a custom airing cupboard! Chris did a great job for me. Made bespoke cabinets for my living room and then I had him back to put new decking in my back garden. His work was excellent both times, and very reasonable in terms of cost.

Our new apartment came with a difficult design challenge; the radiator was positioned right underneath where the TV needed to be. We knew our only option was to get something bespoke made, which not only looked great, matching the styling of our living room, but also hid the radiator, whilst allowing it to still function and fully vent its heat, as well as a slatted wall feature with shelves. Jake was without question the right man for the job, demonstrating his expertise and professionalism from the outset. He was always friendly, punctual, easily contactable, and really professional throughout the entire process. Jake carefully guided us through the design phase, ensuring that we were involved in every decision. He created detailed 3D drawings that allowed us to visualize the project and make any necessary adjustments before the actual build commenced. This collaborative approach was highly appreciated and ensured that the final product would meet our exact specifications. He presented us with many different options for types of wood and treatments, helping us to select the best materials that would complement our living room's décor. The final build looked exactly like the 3D drawings, which was incredibly satisfying. The quality of the build and the finish exceeded our expectations; it looks amazing and seamlessly integrates with the rest of our living space. We couldn't be happier with Jake's work. The bespoke TV cabinet not only solved our radiator issue but also added a beautiful, functional piece of furniture to our home. We would definitely use his services again and cannot recommend him more highly to anyone looking for a skilled carpenter who can deliver exceptional bespoke solutions.

It was hard to get into Jake’s diary with our project. However, Jake is one of the best tradespersons that has ever come through our doors. He was very patient with our search for the exact product we wanted, requesting multiple samples and bringing them for review. The execution was smooth, tidy, clean and very neat. Top quality finishing. And just a great character to work with plus incredibly diligent - staying till 7pm on a Friday to complete a section of work. Highly recommended for sure!

I have used Arrow Carpentry and Joinery twice now. Both Jack and Lee have been excellent. Their workmanship is top notch. I recently had some building work done, and my builders commented on how good their work was, and wanted their number. Compeditive pricing, punctual, and tidy. Also decent friendly chaps. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The quality of the Windows that I received from Ted really couldn't be beaten. Plus excellent service and communication during the in the initial measuring and specification, then into fitting. They have absolutely transformed my build, have already had appreciative comments from neighbors and I have no doubt they will outlast me and with care, those that follow. I can certainly recommend Ted and would use his services again.

Ted came to our rescue as we were let down by our staircase fitter half way through installation. His work and attention to detail is of an extreme high quality. Our stairs look stunning after he completed the work which included fitting glass panels. Highly recommend.

Ted built a cupboard for us to house our boiler and hot water tank. It was in a tricky spot with sloping ceilings and very few straight lines in a very old house. Ted did an amazing job to a really high standard, worked quickly, and always cheerful. Really happy with the work done!

Ted has worked with us for three projects over the last year, 2024, a library, dressing room and media wall. These have been completed to an exceptional standard. We love so many of the details, particularly the attention to detail, the use of led integral lighting and the use of real woods. Ted came to visit to ensure he understood the brief, sent us drawings and ideas and then came to install on the dates he had promised. This is a rare thing with contractors, being on time, on budget and very helpful. Ted ensured the area he had been working was tidy and safe at the end of every day. Furthermore, even if the weather was atrocious, he turned up! He brought with him a tent to work outside on cutting and plaining so there was limited mess inside. We cannot commend Ted highly enough. He has delivered what we wanted with thought, creativity and care about our projects. Thank you Ted!

Jon purpose built some storage for us, hung two doors and plastered my son’s room. We were very happy with all the work carried out. Jon originally did a lot of work on our house ten years ago- laying flooring and fitting our kitchen- and even now the work still looks good, it was a no- brainer to get him back to do these new jobs. Jon is polite, helpful with suggestions and kept to time. I will be asking Jon to complete further work for us.

Absolutely over the moon with the work jon has just done for me. He divided a bedroom without having to remove the window. I couldn’t really vision it but jon made me feel confident that it could be done. And it really could. Jon was professional, tidy, got it done in the time frame he said, even put up with some of my fussiness 😬. Quote was good. Jon did an amazing job on my new kitchen which involved dismantling my old kitchen and appliances, stripping the tiles, plasterboarding the walls and ceiling, assembling the flat packed kitchen cabinets, worktops, tiling both worktop surfaces and floor and replacing and fitting a new kitchen door. Jon worked to an exceptional standard and his impeccable timekeeping, professionalism, keen eye to detail and his quality of work was second to one. From the moment he submitted his quote for my kitchen to final completion three weeks later, he worked tirelessly to bring my dream kitchen to its reality, and not forgetting the brilliant team working with Rob the electrician to complete the kitchen which has brought such positive reactions from friends and family!
