The Best Cafes in Ramsgate, Kent, United Kingdom (2025)

I popped here on my own (without any children!) to take an hour for myself after a very hectic and stressful week. It’s small and cosy but also gives off elegant vibes - it feels like it would be great for all sorts of occasions from parties to date night, to drinks and dinner with friends. I went for a mocha and they were accommodating with my specific order (easy on the coffee and more on the chocolate) which was appreciated, plus I’d heard they do great coffees and they seem to take it seriously which is great. I ordered the sourdough and seaweed butter which was hearty - too much for me to eat on my own! I was worried that I’d still be hungry as I ordered a small plate - the crab tagliatelle - but it was perfect. Crab tagliatelle is one to order for sure. Buttery, generous amounts of crab, enough chilli to balance it out and the pasta was excellent. It’s Saturday early afternoon and the weather is terrible. It’s not busy at all, which I just don’t understand as this is the first place I’d run to for lunch on a day like today!

We stopped by here today after the last day of school. My glass of wine was exactly what I wanted. The staff were friendly and helpful; they happily made my kids a "cocktail" which they were delighted at. The truffle humous was delicious. We also utilised the Star Wars cards and other board games. Love Seabird, we will be back 😁👍🏻

Popped in for coffee whilst visiting Ramsgate and loved the evening menu so booked and returned same day. The food was exceptional and great service. Will return when in the area again.

Well, what an excellent find in Ramsgate. Great coffee. No parking, yet that’s not the fault of ‘The Wooden Box’. Atmosphere relaxing for food or drink. Well worth a visit if on the go.

Found this cafe on the way to the Micro museum. When we went in we were made to feel really welcome and was happy to rearrange the furniture etc. Lovely choice of food and it was delicious. Noticed they are dog friendly and it was lovely to see the artwork too. I highly recommend this cafe, and when I come back to Ramsgate I will be returning. Great hospitality, clean and tidy and lovely food. 😀

Absolutely lovely cafe, spent about 2hrs here today with 2 friends. Had a wonderful time with great atmosphere and delicious food. Both boys serving us were polite and very nice. All members of my party agreed this is a brilliant little gem.

Fantastic venue. A lovely welcome and friendly staff. Delicious drinks (they make a fab Margarita!) and excellent service. Was lucky enough to see Josh Savage play on his tour. The intimacy and acoustics watching a live performance like this is pretty magical here. Highly recommended!

A charming little eatery on the edge of the developing Addington Street scene... the artwork alone is reason enough to pay a visit, although the hand picked selection of interesting and offbeat wines is another... the stunning outdoor courtyard is a must if the sun is shining... Eats n Beats is not to be missed, trust me...

Stumbled, literally, across this charming Bistro. Van Morrison hit us on the playlist which carried on with Steely Dan, James Taylor, Joni Mitchel, CSN&Young amongst others. The soundtrack of my youth. Excellent brunch of full English. Veggie options were available. The Observer was on the table to browse. Service polite and engaging without being intrusive. Lovely way while away a morning/early afternoon.

There are many good things I can say about this place. At the top of the list is the super-friendly host. She will make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The interior itself is very cozy, with some space downstairs as well. I was here on a quiet day, but I can imagine this place buzzing with energy when full. As for the food, I had the best English breakfast I've had in the UK here. The ingredients were of good quality and cooked to perfection. It definitely filled me up. The cakes were great too; the Brazilian Carrot Cake is a must-try. I was told the menu will be expanded in due course, so I'm really looking forward to it. Will most certainly return when I'm next in the area.

10/10 full English breakfast. Cute courtyard to sit in and really friendly and welcoming team. Only small comment is the coffee could have been stronger but a great place for a top quality brunch in Thanet

The couple that run it are really lovely people, the customer service is top notch and the food is even better once you try their sausage and egg muffin breakfast you'll never want to go anywhere else! You can get breakfast deals up to 11am try it

I have been coming to Coles for around 2 years now at least twice a week and wouldn't go anywhere else for a chit chat, coffee or food locally. I think it's important to support local small businesses and love this cafe. The food is amazing and the staff are friendly and warming. There is always repeat custom and there is always new faces through the door. The range of food is varied and there is something fot everyone. The portion sizes are a very good size as they don't want you to go hungry. If you want a new local cafe or to try something new go to Cole's

A great pie and mash... Definitely recommend it. Real mash and tasty pie.

Was in the area and tempted in when I saw pie and mash was their speciality. Got it to take away but saw others eating in there. I was not disappointed and would certainly go there again. Pleasant people and their other menu options looked good too.

I had a Belgian Hot choc here and it was absolutely beautiful and the nicest I have ever tasted!! We had a toasted sandwich which was delicious and served with salad, balsamic and tortilla crisps. The service was excellent and very friendly and the atmosphere was great. I cannot wait to go back. Beautiful views of the harbour.

A wonderful place, with accents, design and music Latino & Retro 80', 90'. Friendly and qualified staff. Extremely affordable prices. Also here you can find unique pralines handmade by the owner.I recommend this place with a great view of Ramsgate marina. Pets are welcome. Large terrace full of flowers.

I recently visited this charming café in Ramsgate and had an experience that was too good not to share. We just popped out to have a look around the area and as it was getting on for lunchtime we decided to find somewhere to eat. Well we come across Riley's cafe and what a fantastic gem of a place, lovely and clean and the staff were excellent. I fancied a full English and the other half had a baked potato with tuna. The meals were huge and absolutely delicious too, extremely good value in very pleasant surroundings. If I could give it more stars I would.

Nice coffee. The cheese scones were lovely. Went back for the veggie breakfast the following day. It was okay tbh. Good service though

Well what can we say!…..reluctant to leave a review as don’t want everyone knowing about this absolute gem! This is one our favourite places….we sometimes go twice at the weekend and have started cycling there midweek too. The food is quality…really unique, tasty and always beautifully presented. The drinks are yum too and the staff are so friendly and always ask us how are food was as they are keen to get feedback to improve. It really is a great place where you can cycle/walk to in your sports wear or dress up a little and enjoy a wonderful dining experience ….informal yet a really great ambiance. Highly recommend and on par with cafes/bars/restaurants In London….everything has been thought of….the chef knows what he/she is doing. One of the nicest places I have been to in a long time…..we look forward to our weekends so we can visit Njord.

Massive shout out to this place - I'm a wheelchair user due to Interstitial lung disease and neuropathy in my feet so accessible places are important to me, I can walk but have maybe a 10/20 meter range. We parked up (free parking) and we decided that seeing as the cafe was literally over the road we didn't need to take my chair (she already had lifted it in and out of the car a few times). I stopped to rest against the wall outside as she parked to catch my breath (stoney/uneven car park opposite) and the lovely cafe lady actually came out to check I was ok! They absolutly went above and beyond and everything from food to service was spot on.We had the Meze platters. My friend is vegan and was going to skip the Tzatziki as normally it's made with yogurt but the lady made a few phone calls then told us it was made with vegan yogurt. Absolutely will be going back. 10/10 would recommend. Go here, you won't regret it.

Really warm welcome by all the staff. Lovely coffee. I would like to score this higher, but at the time of this review they were not offering a substantial food menu. The staff have said it is a new cafe and the menu is under development. However, the food we did have was very high quality. We got a Pan au Chocolat for my son and it was huge! He said it was very tasty. I had the vegan sausage roll which was very good. My wife had the lamb pasty, which was nice too. I would like to revisit next time I'm in the area to check out the improved food menu.

Quick stop off after a walk. The person serving was very polite acknowledged we were waiting while serving another customer. Took our order and offered to bring it over to us (we decided to sit outside as we had a dog). Lots of outdoor seating for my party 3 adults 2 children and 🐾. We all had cake 🍰 which was delicious 😋 washed this down with some beautifully made coffee. We will definitely be back to sample some of the other items ( the menu looked extensive with lots to try)

Great value Cafe serving decent food, well cooked and served with a smile. We had an omelette each, mine with chips, and my Dad's with a freshly prepared salad...plus coffee...for £15

Fantastic place for a full breakfast. Food is always cooked to perfection. Staff are lovely and very competitive prices Update: We went on a Sunday to try the roast, 3 seperates were ordered ( chicken, pork and beef). All came out together and all were piping hot and were absolutely lovely. Now we are torn for roast or breakfast next time we go

I have Been two times now, and both times have had lovely service, lovely cooked food, even the jacket potato and salad was lovely my mum loved that especially as you got the offer of beetroot aswell. I had today the mega breakfast with additional black pudding 7. 50 all in. Great value. great service, always welcomed with a hello and how are you. Also has in place covid adhearance for people worried about that with sanitisation before you enter and screens around the counter. Roasts look good too aswell lovely veg, meat, Yorkshire aswell as fresh milkshakes that I see everyone having when in there. Must try one next time 👍 give it ago it will become like me my go to cafe 👌👍
