“Firstly, the owners are so lovely! We stopped by for lunch and were so well looked after and kind of felt like we had just popped round to a friend’s house! The food/atmosphere was excellent and versatile - the homemade pizza bread on the sandwich was incredible. You can tell it’s a family run establishment with passion and good quality control for what is on offer. A new local spot for us and highly recommend!”

“So happy to come across this pleasant little coffee shop in Canterbury. It is set in an ancient, characterful building close to the cathedral. Happily, the owners have resisted the urge to formulate a brightly lit tourist trap and have instead, taken the time to create a coffee shop with a beautiful ambiance, kind staff and quality ingredients. Prices are reasonable and the quality and colour of the cups and plates speaks of an attention to detail and care for their customers. Some nice views from the windows of the beautiful city of Canterbury. A well deserved 5 stars.”

“Their cherry pie is the best dessert I have ever had in my entire life and I am not exaggerating that. I passed by this cafe and spotted the cake & pie display through their window. It looked so good that I turned right around and went in and ordered a cappuccino (they did not judge me for ordering one at 4pm, very kind of them) and the glorious cherry lattice pie. I can taste it even now months later as I write this review. I see it in my dreams. It was unlike the syrupy, overly sweet pies that tend to be the norm in America. It was tart and dense and the crust was rich and buttery and soft. It was so beautiful it looked like one of the pies you would see sitting on a windowsill in a children’s book. I have never written a love letter to a pie before but I am writing one now because that is what this pie inspired in me. After that life-changing slice I got a second one to go, and the box made the journey to the evening church service at the cathedral and on to the train station and all the way back to London as I could not bear the thought of not having a slice of this pie to look forward to, as I sadly must do now. I live in the US so the only solution is to make it myself. I have been looking for a recipe for months but haven’t yet found one that comes close. If you are luckier than me and are in Canterbury or will be in Canterbury soon you should do yourself a favor and try it.”

“Wow, what an awesome cafe! I work just round the corner at the university and have been meaning to try this place for a while. I was not disappointed! The decor and vibe of the place is very welcoming, and the service was impeccable. I ordered the set 2, which was great value for about 8 quid considering it includes tea and toast/bread. Every part of the meal was cooked perfectly and the ingredients are good quality. Sausage was nice and herby too which is just how they should be. Will definitely come again more regularly to support such a well-run establishment with superb food and value.”
