Kin Coffee

3, Milestone Buildings, High St, Staplehurst, Tonbridge TN12 0AB, UK | Coffee Shop
P: 01580 893235

Rating: 4.9 (150) Price Level:

Recently discovered Kin for their infamous taco night but have then returned for day time coffee and pastries. The whole thing is just the absolute epitome of what a small local business should all be about. Well made drinks, cracking local food but honestly the thing that sets it apart is the phenomenal staff who are kind, friendly and always grateful. I can't recommend it enough for a nice spot for a coffee (although nervous to advertise taco night as I always want to be able to get a seat!)

Stopped for a coffee and a bite at this new (to me) cafe in Staplehurst. I was out for a ride on a cold December day, and the warm atmosphere of “Kin” was most welcoming. I had a Black Americano and a Cheese Toastie with Kimchi. The Kimchi is made “in-house” and was very good! The coffee was also a good quality. The cafe was busy when I arrived but I managed to get a seat on one of their comfy sofas. There is street parking (free) immediately outside the cafe or the town shops have a car park just 50 yards away. This was a great find, and I will return!

My Fiancée and I have attended the Friday taco nights twice since they started and it has gone from really good to truly great. It's a lovely relaxed atmosphere, a good cocktail list (I reccomend the Dirty Backyard Caipirinha) and the tacos are brilliant. I like the pork - my partner likes the fish. Would reccomend for groups looking for something more niche than your typical pub grub available in the area. It's a special evening to kick off the weekend.

Taco night was soooo good. Perfect menu, a unique dining experience and authentic corn tortillas 👌 . It'll be our go-to for evenings out with friends. Vibe was on point - and the team had great chat. Amazing value too.

Moving back from uni, the one thing missing in Kent was decent coffee! Kin has exactly that as well as a lovely atmosphere and kind, friendly staff. No extra charges for vegan milk, amazing food and wonderful specialty coffee at an even better price. We come in most days with our dog (who loves his pup cups as much as I love my cappuccinos) :)

Amazing place to work from situated at the historic Pantiles the building has been restored to a top quality finnish. The building has been tastefully decorated, the balcony/terrace overlooking the Pantiles is the perfect place to sit and have lunch. The management couldn't be helpful or friendly.

Having searched high and low for the perfect venue for my social media workshops, Emma has delivered a fantastic and exciting co-working space with conference room facilities. The hot-desking options are flexible and high specced enabling local entrepreneurs to be part of a larger business environment. Recommend highly.

I visited the buzz on the pantiles in T - wells the other week and thought as I was in the area I would check out their sister restaurant in Cranbrook, unfortunately it was fully booked ( my own fault for not booking ) but I was told to pop down the road to their other building named The Hive ( co-working unit/coffee lounge ) for coffee and cake. When I arrived I discovered they had a lovely coffee snug! It was so wonderful, lovely coffee and cakes, the young man working was so accommodating and the chilled Motown music nearly sent me to sleep as I was so relaxed. Lovely experience once again, keep up the amazing work

Wonderful restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious. You can taste the quality of every herb and every spice. Beautiful food and so authentic. The spanakopita reminded me of when I was on holiday in Thessaloniki, Greece. The owners are so friendly, so welcoming and we chatted to them for over half an hour. My mum and I had the perfect evening!

Absolutely loved this place. We were a group of 8 cyclist just looking for a coffee and cake. The lady serving on her own wasn't phased by us just walking in without notice. She was really pleasant and quick serving us coffees and delicious cakes. Very quirky café. 10 /10.

This is a little gem of a place! Wonderful service, friendly atmosphere, pretty interior. I sat in the window in the sunshine and had a cappuccino made to my liking, and the best almond croissant I have ever tasted. You can also sit outside. I would highly recommend a visit. They bake their own cakes too!

Saw the excellent reviews for this quaint little cafe and decided to come here for coffee, prior to our Scotney castle visit. It was a good decision as the cafe certainly met the high expectations we had. The staff were friendly and welcoming, while the coffee was really very nice, as was the cake. Lots of interesting snacks and food available. Would definitely recommend a visit here if you are in the area.

Popped in to grab a couple bags of coffee as I didn't want to wait a couple of days for delivery and now cant go back to instant - had a nice chat while the guy was preparing my bags and when I mentioned that I was still very much an amateur at making coffee at home I was offered to be shown how to make a latte all while giving me some helpful tips on grinding and tamping. Very kind and extremely helpful service - 100% recommend.

Food For Thought

Rating: 4.6 (120) Price Level:

I've read a couple of bad reviews about this place and fortunately many others very positive. My personal experience has been very positive indeed: sat down for a coffee, relaxing atmosphere and lovely, available staff. I need to say coffee quality is above average (Illy coffee is advertised) and cost was as expected for being in the main Cranbrook strip. Oh, and they accept dogs, which is a strong additional 'plus' for coming again.

We went for a full breakfast on Sunday morning which was lovely and service great. I forgot my handbag and only realised when I was miles away. I called and they assured me it’s safe. Molly was so kind to send it back by post making sure there’s nothing valuable in there (luckily it wasn’t). She sent it back to me free of charge even though I was happy to cover for the effort and postage. Thanks so much for going over and beyond for a total stranger as we were just visiting the area xx

Sat in a town with expensive shops and boutiques is this practical cafe where you would feel at home having a breakfast plate or a cup of tea and cake . The prices are very affordable too . The staff are lovely and the toilets are clean , as is the cafe . I had a brunch breakfast which was endless so I gave up with a dozen or so chips to go . Just off the A21 so a good pit stop with 2 hrs free parking in Waitrose car park a couple of hundred yards away

Delicious coffee and amazing panini. I had the toated tuna melt. It was one of the most delicious paninis I've ever had! The addition of apple and celery was very tasty. (Generous portion size too) The cafe has a very arty vibe, each table decorated differently and art on the walls. The place is bigger than you think, so don't be put off if the place looks full through the window. Though I'd probably book ahead next time just to be sure.

I've been wanting to visit The Greedy Goat Cafe for a while now! It wasn't overly easy to find and only had a sign out the front to indicate where it was.. but what a hidden gem! The chef apparently was not very well, from the conversation they were having with other visitors (nothing catching I hope..!) But the food was delicious! Beans could have been a little warmer, but everything was cooked beautifully! I'd definitely visit again! Hope the chef feels better soon!

We took our 8 year old daughter for the Santa experience, end of November and this started Christmas for us. There were lots of fun activities from gingerbread icing and decorating tree decorations to making reindeer food and sending a postcard to Santa. Meeting the big guy was the highlight. Santa spent time talking to my daughter about her hobbies and interests, she was amazed how much he knew! A magical afternoon out, definitely recommend it!

Nice place for a walk or for water sports. It is more developed than we expected, with play areas and adventure parks, boat hire and group activities. The cafe provides meals as well as tea coffee and cakes, plus it is licensed to sell alcohol. Seating inside and out with good views. Buying a parking ticket (£5.30 for the day) includes access to the general areas. Activities are extra of course. Payment by App only on Ringo, so make sure you have App loaded before arriving to save your data allowance. We walked along the water side. Paths were just gravelled, and ordinary shoes would be ok, but walking boots would be best. Good number of benches along the first couple of miles, can't comment on the rest of the 12 mile path round the reservoir. The path was mainly through wooded areas, so nicely shaded for hot sunny days. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. 😎👍👍👍👍

A must visit if you are near Royal Tunbridge Wells. Boating , fishing, surfing, swimming and hiking you name it there is something for everyone. I have noticed a designated camp site as well. There is a cafe with a lake view although it was closed when we went. Parking is 7.30 for the whole day. You can hire fishing boats and kayaks. Kayaks are £30 for 2 hours and it holds 3 people. I recommend taking some snacks and drinks with you just in case the cafe is closed.

Lovely place to come with the family for a day out, plenty to do with cafe/toilets and everything you need near by. Parking is charged at £7 for the day with plenty of spaces. You are able to swim in the waters but just beware of all the stones as it can be quite hard/uncomfortable to walk on.

We went to this cafe today with the kids to have afternoon tea and I have to admit it was the best cafe I have been to. Not only do you have the "Lakeview" but the food was great. But what made it exceptional was the staff, my weird they were the loveliest people with the exact right balance of attentiveness such a place needs, not in your face but not leaving you on your own. The kids were very comfortable. I would definitely go back.
