19 Harbour St, Whitstable CT5 1AQ, UK
Phone: 01227 531089
“We stopped off here to shelter from the rain whilst on a bike ride and decided to get an early lunch. Great idea and great luck. The food was excellent (I had the grilled cheese and marmite on sourdough) and the coffee perfect. My friend is a VERY fussy flat white fan and he had two! Can’t fault this place - lovely atmosphere, quirky decoration and the woman who served us was super friendly.”

“I've been waiting so long for a board games cafe in Canterbury and The Long Rest did not disappoint! The food was great, they have a huge selection of board games and the staff were super friendly. Unlike most board game cafes games are only included if the staff have experience with them so they can actually recommend something for you based on group size, experience and timings. I can't wait to go back!”

“This is an absolute gem of a cafe. Wonderful friendly service. The food choice was good, tasty and brilliantly presented, just excellent. My wife was so relaxed, as The owner understood gluten free, which is somewhat rare nowadays. For me the Destructive Ploughman’s was superb and the home made sausage roll was yummy! Oh and the cafe is totally dog friendly! Thank you. Well done. We will be back!!”

The Moat Tea Rooms
67 Burgate, Canterbury CT1 2HJ, UK
Phone: 01227 784514
“The Moat Tea Rooms is a wonderfully cozy spot, tucked away in a charming old crooked Tudor building that feels like stepping back in time. My visit here was a delightful experience. The quaint and intimate atmosphere, paired with the history radiating from the walls, makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a peaceful afternoon. We ordered Russian Caravan tea, which had a rich, smoky flavor that felt just right for the setting, alongside a smooth and comforting latte. Despite not being very hungry, we couldn’t resist sharing a slice of cherry and nut pie, which was a great choice. The pie was delicious, with the tartness of the cherries perfectly complemented by the crunch of the nuts. It was a small indulgence, more for the soul than the stomach, and it lifted our spirits on a quiet day. What stood out, besides the food and ambiance, was the warm and friendly staff. They were incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcome, and it’s clear they take pride in creating a pleasant and relaxing environment for their guests. I highly recommend The Moat Tea Rooms for anyone looking to escape the bustle of daily life and soak in some historic charm. Whether you're there for a full meal or just a soothing cup of tea, it’s a lovely spot to unwind and treat yourself.”

“I recently visited Tea Cafe, 5-7,Canterbury and had an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is charming, with cozy seating and a relaxing ambiance. The tea and coffee selection is impressive, offering a wide variety of both classic and unique blends. I opted for their signature cappuccino and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly creamy. My friend tried the Earl grey tea, which was fresh and vibrant, with a rich flavor that was truly delightful. I suggest to all my relatives and friends to visit over there. I will definitely returning soon.”
