Ian has just completed his fourth carpentry job in my home and garden. All have been completed on time, on estimate and are of great quality. Perhaps: save that, in this instance, Ian's diagnosis was that the underlying issue was the very manner in which the door had been constructed. In next to no time, he'd solved the issue and the door has never given us another minute's trouble. Such that when a similar jamming issue (to do with building settlement) arose recently in relation to a couple of interior doors, we regarded Ian as the go-to carpenter. As before, the work was carried out expertly, promptly and at very fair rates. For good measure, he assembled an item of flat-pack garden furniture which had arrived with damaged but, in the right hands, fixable parts.
