Lovely place. The staff were very good, friendly, and pleasant. The pub is very nice to relax in. Has a great garden where you can eat outside. The food was good and fairly priced... 😋

A Boxing Day Triumph at The Carpenters Arms Visited The Carpenters Arms on Boxing Day with a small gathering of just 20 family members—it was like hosting a reunion with added gravy. Despite our herd-like arrival, the staff didn’t bat an eye and looked after us as if we were old friends. The beers on tap? Exceptional. The sort that makes you wish you’d walked so you could sample a few more. And the food? Well, let me tell you, the Turkey Pie deserves its own place in the British Pie Hall of Fame. Flaky, rich, and comforting—it was Boxing Day in pastry form. Practicalities were spot on too: plenty of parking for our fleet of cars, a tidy garden (perfect for future visits in warmer months), and spotless interiors that make you trust the kitchen even more. Would we visit again? In a heartbeat. Maybe next time with fewer people… or maybe not. Cheers to The Carpenters Arms for turning a family outing into a memorable feast.

We had Sunday lunch at the carpenters arms and it was amazing. The food was amazing, it’s one of the best roasts I’ve had from a pub in a while. The variety of food was good in my opinion. The staff were great as well, there seemed to be a number of them always walking around looking after patrons. It’s a hidden gem that I look forward to going back to again.

A lovely, spacious and bright pub with good tasting food at good prices. The fish and chips was a magnificent sight when it arrived, the fish was delicious and crispy but the chips could have been better, more crisp and perhaps a different type of potato for better texture. The grilled mackerel was tasty and well balanced and big in size. The staff were really lovely and kind with a top notch service. A perfect place for lunch or dinner if you're around the area hiking and want a charming place to relax.
