All boxes ticked ☑️ gently man was so good and greeted us with huge smile 😊 Lovely coffee shop in the village. Nice place to have a chat or catch-up with friends or family over coffee and cake. The cakes are amazing 😻

A fantastic ☕️ coffee shop with a children’s play area. The coffee I had was really, really nice. When I saw this shop I was hoping to get something dairy and gluten-free to bite. Josh and his little Nest didn’t disappoint me as there’s vegan, dairy and gluten-free options are all available here. I think he was born to run this coffee shop as he’s so welcoming and friendly, had a great chat and laughter 😁 This was the first time I came here and I will definitely pop in again when I’m in the area. Very positive experience, he actually made my day! Well done 👍

We 100% recommend Jade/BabyCakes Guildford. She was just amazing. From the very first taster box, to the wedding cake on the day. Firstly, the cake was absolutely gorgeous, and looked amazing! Aside from that, Jade was just so helpful throughout the whole process. There were so many things to think about for the wedding, and Jade just made this part of the process so easy. Helping with design ideas to meet our colour scheme & vibe of the day, flavour recommendations (so hard to decide as they were all so amazing) and putting us at ease with the timings and delivery of the cake on the day. The cake was perfect, it was exactly what we wanted and tasted so so good! Thank you again ♥️

Thank you so much to Jade at Babycakes Guildford for making the most beautiful cake for my Mum’s surprise party. Not only was the cake beautiful, it tasted incredible too and all the guests commented on how nice it was. It was a pleasure speaking with Jade throughout the booking process and the collection. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Jade was absolutely amazing! She created the wedding cake of our dreams! The taste and look of the cake was absolutely breathtaking. As well as this Jade is an absolute joy to work with and is very helpful with suggestions and ideas and what might look nice. If I could do my wedding a million times over I’d pick her each time! We had a red velvet top tier and vanilla cupcakes with strawberry filling cupcakes on a tower. She communicated so clearly and was just comply the best. We have had other cupcake orders with her as well which are always tasty! Love Mr and Mrs Garbuja xx

Fresco DeliKafessen
1A Friary St, Guildford GU1 4EH, UK | Cafe P: 01483 568876
Rating: 4.8 (384) Price Level:
This is the only cafe I go to during the week. It’s not too far from my office but if it was closer, I would be getting coffee in the afternoon too. Staff work so hard here and I really love the food. Traditional pastries, savoury and sweet but also fresh paninis if I don’t fancy a pastry. I put a 4 star for food, not because of quality, but because I think salads would be a nice addition to the menu. No where in Guildford does it so it could be a big win! Wouldn’t even have to be hugely gourmet ones. And maybe smaller pieces of bougatsa as an option too next to large portions like the kataifi but that’s a minor thing. Thank you for all the nice convos while waiting for food and making everyone feel so welcome. If the food wasn’t so good I might’ve had time to take more photos. Also let me use my travel mugs :) Efcharisto!

One of the best cafe. Such a great service. I been given full info about what sort of cold cafe they do, how they do etc. On the top I have tasted some traditional Greek pastries. Yummy. Truly recommend this place. The service make it most and the café...top. Just to add - popped in 05.11... disappointed

A lovely, hellenic (Greek) café in the heart of Guildford! Dimitris and Nikos are so friendly, kind and treat you like their friend! I ordered a fresco espresso, which is actually what is called FREDDO ESPRESSO, in Hellas (Greece). Tasteful! They also offered me two pieces of greek bougatsa🇬🇷❤️ In store, you can find many traditional products like "petit four", "bougatsa", cakes, etc, but also ice cream for dogs! 🐕 Totally recommend it! Have fun x

A delightful independent coffee shop with charm. As well as serving up great coffees, this place had a fantastic selection of Greek sweet and savoury foods, all locally produced and super tasty. The guys behind the counter were welcoming and took the time to explain the different food available. An authentic coffee shop with bags of character. Well worth a visit if you are wondering through Guildford

Rating: 4.8 (365) Price Level:
A great place to have a treat breakfast on a Sunday morning! We had a veggie breakfast and a mini breakfast. The 'mini' is pretty substantial. Good table service, and a nice busy atmosphere. A repeat visit was even better! Really consistent good service.

So staying in Guildford for a few days. I wanted to try something different other than McDonald's or your standard chain. I found this after searching Google with great reviews, I knew I was expecting high things. Walking in it's a great atmosphere. I order the breakfast baguette with chips. I didn't have to wait too long and the portion size was great and not to much and not too little. There is an outside area with a roof to cover from rain etc. Also, the inside is nice and very well decorated. There is one toilet and it also has baby changing facilities. Overall, I really recommend and worth having a trip too, maybe a short walk from town but well worth it. If I'm back in Guildford, I'll be back.

We love this place. A hybrid of service (counter, table &/or both) which never disappoints; they’re quietly attentive. The ingredients are expensive, the portions are generous & the prices are very reasonable. Coffee is exceptional. We just love it all.

Great coffee shop hidden in one of the tranquil narrow path ways of Guildford high Street. Great food served in a very tiny setting which gave us a little bit of a squashed feeling. But in general it was a fantastic experience, gorgeous coffee and a lovely Mother's day treat.
Rating: 4 / 5
- Variety of coffee options, including café Americano, milkway latte, and Irish frappe mocha. - Hazelnut truffle latte was too sweet for my taste. - Menu offers classic English breakfast, waffles, and avocado toast. - Gluten-free options available. - Lovely and cosy decoration. - Sad that Pets not allowed inside the coffee shop 😔

The Dabbling Duck
Middle St, Shere, Guildford GU5 9HF, UK | Cafe P: 01483 205791
Rating: 4.5 (1223) Price Level:
Lovely dog friendly cafe in a beautiful village with lots of outdoor seating. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They have a good selection of lunch options. The only critique we would make is that the coffee and walnut cake had little to no coffee in it. But lunch was delicious.
Rating: 5 / 5
This is my second time in Shere and at The Dabbling Duck. I came last year as well. I travel from New Zealand and love coming to this place with my family here in England. Great food and staff.
Rating: 4 / 5
Had a lovely breakfast at the dabbling duck. The staff were all very friendly and service and food could not be faulted. There was only one fly in the ointment. We sat inside the cafe as did a lot of dog owners. My friend has allergies and is a bit wary of dogs so it was a bit off putting to her. They were also all a bit over excited and ‘talking’ to each other which made it hard for us to converse. I’ve no objection to well behaved dogs but not everyone feels the same for various reasons and they are not necessarily just being intolerant. The Dabbling Duck has a large heated marquee outside as well as covered heated outdoor seating. Would it not be a good compromise to welcome dogs only to these areas and keep the small inside seating area pet free. Other than that small niggle it was a lovely brunch before a bracing walk in beautiful countryside surrounding Shere.
Rating: 5 / 5
Cafe with quite a large garden area (partially covered - they have a heated yurt!) which is well done up and nice to sit in. Good selection of cakes and drinks with table service. A bit pricey though!

First time came and amazing village… we had latte and duck (which is full)breakfast which was very delicious. What amazed me was the breakfast was hot till half way through as I ate slowly… lol. Anyw, that was super tasty for me. The whole experience was lovely and we planned to come back again some time in the near future.

Grantley Arms
The Street, Wonersh, Wonersh, Guildford GU5 0PE, UK | Pub P: 01483 893351
Rating: 4.5 (1109) Price Level:
We had the most DELICIOUS roast dinner yesterday at The Grantley and enjoyed ourselves so much. Every single one of the staff were so warm and welcoming - from the bar staff, to our waitress, to the man handing out extra Yorkies and gravy in a brilliant shirt! Not only that but the food was outstanding - it felt so nice to be paying for food that wasn't a disappointment. 11/10 - we'll definitely be back!
Rating: 4 / 5
After many visits to the Grantley Arms this was the first disappointment. Unfortunately for the number of diners, there were not enough staff. Our waiter was very good but ON HIS FIRST DAY and we had to keep asking for - menus, drinks, water, etc. He certainly did his best. Also the pork was not good. It really was mostly fat and the vegetables were not for a Sunday Roast. Having said all that we still like visiting the restaurant and as this was the first visit of our 'newly found cousins' we had a lovely day - we will be back!
Rating: 4 / 5
Food really good but could have been warmer but there were 20+ of us plus a full pub. We were in the Bakery which was a wonderful side room with lots of history. Warren and his team really pulled out the stops to look after us all. A warm log fire and lovely table decorations- wood with brass candle enclosures. My roast beef was great although could have been thinner sliced which would have given the appearance of more- but I was full anyway. They even let us bring our home baked cakes to celebrate our eldest sons 30’th which they helped to prepare with candles at the end of the meal.

The Plucky Pheasant

Rating: 4.6 (718) Price Level:
We stopped by for breakfast and I tried the Plucky Breakfast. It was delicious, and the bacon was definitely the highlight, it was perfectly cooked, which is rare to find these days. The staff were warm and attentive and the cozy atmosphere was just the cherry on top!
Rating: 4 / 5
Great up-market cafe. It was pretty busy when we arrived although there were tables available inside and some more in the attached marquee. The food was very good and filling. The atmosphere was good too. Definitely worth a visit.
Rating: 5 / 5
We had a great experience here the other day. This cafe restaurant was busy so we had to park a newlands corner across the road. The staff were friendly and even though it was busy the service was quick. We both ordered burgers for lunch, which cost £16 each. My own burger was the plucky pheasant beef burger, with cheddar and chilli jam. This was a mighty burger, that had a great taste, texture and was filled with toppings. It came with crispy french fries and a salad. Loved this burger! My other half ordered the Southern fried chicken burger which was also good, though not as epic as the beef burger. Worth knowing this is a dog friendly cafe, and at busy times like this there were about 10 dogs in the tented area where we were seated. All well behaved and a joy to see 😀 Updating based on our second trip here, as ever great atmosphere and place to get some excellent food. This time around I had a Moroccan lamb sandwich which was superbly tasty, my other half had the chicken panini which she wasn't too impressed by. The salad dressing looked a bit strange but worked well flavour wise . We sat indoors to order lunch, it was cosy, the staff were friendly as usual and food arrived promptly.

Emailed to book for lunch on 30/12. Responded quickly confirming our booking. As ever the welcome was warm, the service excellent and the food delicious. Highly recommended as ever. Rating: 4.6 (523) Price Level:
Lovely traditional pub. Super friendly staff and a great all-rounder. Definitely heading back on a Sunday for the carvery.
Rating: 5 / 5
Just went to the Jolly farmer for my 24th birthday. And rather getting a menu as it was a sunday roast it wasnt a roast you ordered up. In fact it was a carvery (sorry if i spelt that wrong) with 4 meats Turkey Beef Pork and ham. My word the size the chef gave you with the meats was amazing and the veg which you could help yourself to was so nice. The desserts were all home made on site i think. I had the warm fudge cake and my mum and dad had the butterscotch tart. And man oh man i would defo have that again. For the amount you get the price is amazing. I 100% recommend the sunday roast to anyone as theres not many Carvery left so i do hope the carry on with it. I would 10 stars rather then 5.
Rating: 4 / 5
Super cute room above a pub! I enjoyed my stay there but be aware of the noise coming from the pub - there was noise until around 11 pm on a Tuesday night. No food available on Tuesday evening either

Canopy Coffee
62 Haydon Pl, Guildford GU1 4NE, UK | Coffee Shop P: 01483 857620
Rating: 4.7 (325) Price Level:
Such a great coffee shop. My husband is a coffee snob and highly recommends the authentic and variety of coffee here. The people were very friendly as well. Only lost a star because there really isn't any seating (I understand it is limited to their space) but great idea to have two ordering stations to keep the shop from overcrowding. Wish there was one closer to us!
Rating: 5 / 5
The warmest welcome you can think of! Great coffee and marvelous toasties! Just what I needed that morning, it made my day. Keep up the good work!
Rating: 5 / 5
We had a lovely time visiting Canopy Coffee. The smoothies were great, and the toasties were perfect for our lunch stop. Staff were friendly and definitely recommended.

Amazing little hole in the wall. Tasty coffee but it’s their incredible toasted sandwiches that stole the show. I would go as far as to say… best toastie I’ve ever had! (P.S. my pic does it zero justice.)
Rating: 5 / 5
There’s a charming café in my area that I’ve been visiting for several years now, and every time I go, it brings me so much joy. It’s not just a place to enjoy a good cup of coffee; it’s a space where friendships are made and cherished moments with loved ones take shape. They offer a small selection of delicious snacks—simple yet incredibly tasty. As for the coffee, I always like mine prepared a little differently than most, and they never fail to deliver an amazing taste every time. What truly makes this café special is the friendly and welcoming team. Today, in particular, I was impressed by Bogdan, a kind Ukrainian barista who has been working here for a while. His warm service and attention to detail finally inspired me to leave a well-deserved positive review and write a few kind words about this wonderful place. You guys are doing an outstanding job, and I wholeheartedly recommend this café to anyone looking for a cozy spot with great service. Wishing you all continued success—keep up the fantastic work!
