The Best Cafes in Wonersh, Surrey, United Kingdom (2025)

So staying in Guildford for a few days. I wanted to try something different other than McDonald's or your standard chain. I found this after searching Google with great reviews, I knew I was expecting high things. Walking in it's a great atmosphere. I order the breakfast baguette with chips. I didn't have to wait too long and the portion size was great and not to much and not too little. There is an outside area with a roof to cover from rain etc. Also, the inside is nice and very well decorated. There is one toilet and it also has baby changing facilities. Overall, I really recommend and worth having a trip too, maybe a short walk from town but well worth it. If I'm back in Guildford, I'll be back.

A great place to have a treat breakfast on a Sunday morning! We had a veggie breakfast and a mini breakfast. The 'mini' is pretty substantial. Good table service, and a nice busy atmosphere. A repeat visit was even better! Really consistent good service.

We love this place. A hybrid of service (counter, table &/or both) which never disappoints; they’re quietly attentive. The ingredients are expensive, the portions are generous & the prices are very reasonable. Coffee is exceptional. We just love it all.

Great service with friendly staff. Lovely flat whites with oat milk and delicious carrot cake. Highly recommend. Nice Decor and cute little back yard

A fantastic ☕️ coffee shop with a children’s play area. The coffee I had was really, really nice. When I saw this shop I was hoping to get something dairy and gluten-free to bite. Josh and his little Nest didn’t disappoint me as there’s vegan, dairy and gluten-free options are all available here. I think he was born to run this coffee shop as he’s so welcoming and friendly, had a great chat and laughter 😁 This was the first time I came here and I will definitely pop in again when I’m in the area. Very positive experience, he actually made my day! Well done 👍

Such a lovely place. I'm lucky enough to live walking distance form Nest, and it's always a pleasure. Family friendly, great food, and the best coffee I've had anywhere in Surrey. Highly recommend!

One of the best cafe. Such a great service. I been given full info about what sort of cold cafe they do, how they do etc. On the top I have tasted some traditional Greek pastries. Yummy. Truly recommend this place. The service make it most and the café...top. Just to add - popped in 05.11... disappointed

A lovely, hellenic (Greek) café in the heart of Guildford! Dimitris and Nikos are so friendly, kind and treat you like their friend! I ordered a fresco espresso, which is actually what is called FREDDO ESPRESSO, in Hellas (Greece). Tasteful! They also offered me two pieces of greek bougatsa🇬🇷❤️ In store, you can find many traditional products like "petit four", "bougatsa", cakes, etc, but also ice cream for dogs! 🐕 Totally recommend it! This is the only cafe I go to during the week. It’s not too far from my office but if it was closer, I would be getting coffee in the afternoon too. Staff work so hard here and I really love the food. Traditional pastries, savoury and sweet but also fresh paninis if I don’t fancy a pastry. I put a 4 star for food, not because of quality, but because I think salads would be a nice addition to the menu. No where in Guildford does it so it could be a big win! Wouldn’t even have to be hugely gourmet ones. And maybe smaller pieces of bougatsa as an option too next to large portions like the kataifi but that’s a minor thing. Thank you for all the nice convos while waiting for food and making everyone feel so welcome. If the food wasn’t so good I might’ve had time to take more photos. Also let me use my travel mugs :) Efcharisto!

Great food and very fast it was cool and comfy seating outside exceptional spinach and feta pie and also gave free sample of cheese bougatsa awesome sauce cafe !!!!

Lovely dog friendly cafe in a beautiful village with lots of outdoor seating. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They have a good selection of lunch options. The only critique we would make is that the coffee and walnut cake had little to no coffee in it. But lunch was delicious.

First time came and amazing village… we had latte and duck (which is full)breakfast which was very delicious. What amazed me was the breakfast was hot till half way through as I ate slowly… lol. Anyw, that was super tasty for me. The whole experience was lovely and we planned to come back again some time in the near future.

This is my second time in Shere and at The Dabbling Duck. I came last year as well. I travel from New Zealand and love coming to this place with my family here in England. Great food and staff.

Cafe with quite a large garden area (partially covered - they have a heated yurt!) which is well done up and nice to sit in. Good selection of cakes and drinks with table service. A bit pricey though!

Lovely food and coffee in a beautiful old building. Upstairs there are sofas. Be aware that the staircase is a bit steep and there are low beams. We have been here a few times and I would recommend their pancakes. The atmosphere is great however if you go in the winter, make sure you wrap up warm as it is a very old building and the heating isn’t great. In the summer, they do also have a bit of outdoor space. I would definitely recommend.

In my opinion one of the most underrated places to get a coffee in Surrey. The head barista really knows his coffee and they have a great selection of cakes. I asked for an espresso but was told it would be more like an aeropress/drip style. I was happy with that as I have one at home. I was recommended strength 6 and have to say it was very tasty. For cake, I had the white chocolate, pistachio loaf which again, was very nice. Service was friendly, fast and informative. Can’t ask for much more. Highly recommend.

What an incredible, yet somewhat accidental find! Pinnocks is the most wonderful little cafe in the heart of Ripley. I wanted only to find a quick cup of coffee but what I found was an exquisite beamed ceiling and slate tiled floor, lovely farmhouse tables, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful foods, perfect for a light lunch. There’s the gentle hum of conversation, a fresh produce delivery brought through… and what I was offered was not just a cup of coffee…At risk of sounding like a line from Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually…. This is SO much more than a cup of coffee! There are 7 different beans to choose from depending on your ‘roast’ preference. I chose Ethiopian and received a mug… Normally I prefer a cup, (because I’m a fan of delicate drinking!) but this wasn’t a chunky hunk of china. It was plastic and yet it didn’t detract from the coffee taste at all. Absolutely delicious! I cannot think of a better place to escape from the rain and enjoy an hour or so…I might be coming back for tea…

Great coffee shop hidden in one of the tranquil narrow path ways of Guildford high Street. Great food served in a very tiny setting which gave us a little bit of a squashed feeling. But in general it was a fantastic experience, gorgeous coffee and a lovely Mother's day treat.

The Jolly Farmer is amazingly talented at serving the best quality ales to perfection. CAMRA members should definitely make the effort to visit.

Just went to the Jolly farmer for my 24th birthday. And rather getting a menu as it was a sunday roast it wasnt a roast you ordered up. In fact it was a carvery (sorry if i spelt that wrong) with 4 meats Turkey Beef Pork and ham. My word the size the chef gave you with the meats was amazing and the veg which you could help yourself to was so nice. The desserts were all home made on site i think. I had the warm fudge cake and my mum and dad had the butterscotch tart. And man oh man i would defo have that again. For the amount you get the price is amazing. I 100% recommend the sunday roast to anyone as theres not many Carvery left so i do hope the carry on with it. I would 10 stars rather then 5.

Super cute room above a pub! I enjoyed my stay there but be aware of the noise coming from the pub - there was noise until around 11 pm on a Tuesday night. No food available on Tuesday evening either

Stopped here on a charity cycle ride from London to Poole. What an amazing pitstop for 15 minutes. Internally, the cafe is incredibly cosy, with a quintessential English feel to it, in a quiet, bucolic setting. When it comes to cakes, they offer all the classics, and by the taste of the granola bar I ordered, I reckon they have the recipes bang on. I also noticed a wide selection of teas, which I will have to try next time. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area and “gasping for that cuppa!”

Amazing place , amazing staff and I love coming here. Have been there before as well. This time reached after 3 pm so food options were limited . So we tried hot chocolate and scones and loved both. Fruit Scone was really really nice. Next time I will try the cheese scone :)

We had the most DELICIOUS roast dinner yesterday at The Grantley and enjoyed ourselves so much. Every single one of the staff were so warm and welcoming - from the bar staff, to our waitress, to the man handing out extra Yorkies and gravy in a brilliant shirt! Not only that but the food was outstanding - it felt so nice to be paying for food that wasn't a disappointment. 11/10 - we'll definitely be back!

After many visits to the Grantley Arms this was the first disappointment. Unfortunately for the number of diners, there were not enough staff. Our waiter was very good but ON HIS FIRST DAY and we had to keep asking for - menus, drinks, water, etc. He certainly did his best. Also the pork was not good. It really was mostly fat and the vegetables were not for a Sunday Roast. Having said all that we still like visiting the restaurant and as this was the first visit of our 'newly found cousins' we had a lovely day - we will be back!

Amazing little hole in the wall. Tasty coffee but it’s their incredible toasted sandwiches that stole the show. I would go as far as to say… best toastie I’ve ever had! (P.S. my pic does it zero justice.)

We had a lovely time visiting Canopy Coffee. The smoothies were great, and the toasties were perfect for our lunch stop. Staff were friendly and definitely recommended.

As for the coffee, I always like mine prepared a little differently than most, and they never fail to deliver an amazing taste every time. What truly makes this café special is the friendly and welcoming team. Today, in particular, I was impressed by Bogdan, a kind Ukrainian barista who has been working here for a while. His warm service and attention to detail finally inspired me to leave a well-deserved positive review and write a few kind words about this wonderful place.
