Old Cottage Coffee Shop Cafe
Charlton Park Ln, London SE7 8UB, UK | Coffee Shop P: 07931 434037
Rating: 4.8 (347) Price Level:
The best value cafe in south east London run by the nicest people! Our favourite place for a (bargain) sausage sandwich and coffee after parkrun or junior parkrun.
Rating: 5 / 5
A bit basic but coffee was hot and strong, cafe had been closed over Xmas and new year. Service was very quick and I served by a very polite Japanese lady.
Rating: 5 / 5
Our regular spot! The loveliest staff who are always sweet and friendly. Often give out free doggy treats! Lots of tasty cafe snacks and great coffee. Vegan options on the cakes and coffees, even gluten free cakes! Cannot recommend it enough. The perfect stop on a dog park walk for some cosy comfort.
Rating: 5 / 5
I visited this cafe several years ago, on holiday (we live in the United States). This was my first time in London, and I was so thoroughly impressed with the menu, the homey decor, and the friendly, prompt, and welcoming service. The tea was excellent, as was the egg mayo sandwich and scone. Highly recommend! The view from the park is lovely, too, especially if weather permits sitting outside.
Rating: 5 / 5
A gem. I had to order my food three times and it was still wrong and I found a tea bag at the bottom of my brew. Despite this I'd go back again and again because the people were so lovely and the atmosphere so great.

4 Thurlestone
Thurlestone Parade, Shepperton TW17 9AR, UK | Coffee Shop P: 01932 558886
Rating: 4.8 (140) Price Level:
Sheppertons 4 Thurlstone offer you a delightful 6 course gastronomic experience šš 4 Thurleston is a restaurant located in Shepperton that offers a delightful gastronomic experience through its six-course taster menu. As a lover of exquisite cuisine, my expectations were high, and this restaurant did not disappoint. The journey started with the Goat Cheese Tian, accompanied by mushrooms, roasted peppers, pesto, and aubergine. The combination of the creamy goat cheese and homemade pesto creates a tantalizing explosion of flavours. This dish sets the tone for the rest of the culinary experience, leaving the taste buds longing for more. Moving on to the second course, the Wild Mushroom Risotto with Iranian saffron, free-range chicken, lemon thyme, and shaved Parmesan offers a perfect balance of flavours. The earthiness of the wild mushrooms is complemented by the subtle hints of lemon thyme and Iranian saffron. This dish leaves the mouth watering, creating a sense of anticipation for the upcoming courses. The third course presents a Pan-Fried Red Mullet served with San Marzano tomatoes, samphire, and salad verde. The delicately cooked Red Mullet sits atop a refreshing salsa verde and samphire. The combination of these ingredients results in a well-blended assortment of flavours that are subtle yet harmonious. The presentation of the dish adds to the overall experience, demonstrating the restaurant's attention to detail. The fourth course consists of Pan-Fried Sea Bream fillet accompanied by new potatoes, samphire, braised fennel, Romesco sauce, and blanched green beans. While the fish itself is cooked to perfection, the presentation in a bowl may be a personal drawback for some diners. However, the standout feature of this dish is undoubtedly the outstanding Romesco sauce. The blanched green beans offer a fresh crunch that complements the fish beautifully. The only critique would be the desire for a larger portion of the delectable Romesco sauce. The fifth course, Pan-Fried Herefordshire Sirloin steak with potato gratin, spinach, Birolo sauce, chanterelle mushrooms, and a reduced veal jus, is impeccably presented. The addition of pouring the jus at the table adds a touch of elegance. The potato gratin is cooked to perfection, and although the beef may have been slightly overdone for my preference, the overall dish is a delightful combination of rich tasting flavours that simple work harmoniously. To conclude the evening, the Passion Fruit and Strawberry Cheesecake is delicately presented, reflecting the care and attention given to each dish. The creamy texture of the cheesecake, combined with a flavourful biscuit base and a citrus jus, creates a mouthwatering experience. The addition of a raspberry atop the cheesecake is the perfect finishing touch to this delightful dessert. Overall, 4 Thurleston delivers an exquisite gastronomic experience. Each course exhibits a careful selection of ingredients and a meticulous preparation method. The presentation of each dish reflects the restaurant's commitment to providing a memorable dining experience. While there may be minor personal preferences or critiques about certain aspects, the overall quality of the food, presentation, and flavors surpass expectations. For those seeking a memorable culinary journey, 4 Thurleston is a restaurant that is definitely worth a visit.

Hands down the best Falafel in London. Canāt be more fresh. Have been to authentic places around the middle east but this beats all!
Rating: 5 / 5
Unexpectedly delicious food from this take away spot outside Surrey Quays shopping centre. Had the Dolma box, the taste on the roasted (I presume) vine leaves was amazing, just the right amount of sweetness to the light pomegranate sauce, all other ingredients were fabulously fresh. Coffee was also spot on. Ibo was a lovely guy with warm and welcoming service. Highly recommend.
Rating: 5 / 5
As a Turkish Cypriot who was raised on Mediterranean dishes, I have to say, the dolma box here is amazing! Better than any other restaurant I've had it in! Fluffy rice wrapped tightly in vine leaves, dressed in pomegranate sauce, served with a very generous helping of salad and a dollop of tasty hummus. It's just beautiful. For Ā£8.95, you will be satisfied for hours. Completely vegan too! On a sunny day, it's nice to grab this for lunch and have it on one of the benches outside. The falafel wrap here is delicious too. Try it! Very happy, enthusiastic service. An absolute pleasure

MAKEMAKECOFFEE
Lower Rd, London SE16 2UF, UK | Coffee Shop P: Not available
Rating: 4.8 (105) Price Level:
Quality coffee with rich notes of hazelnut. Cute little shop. Looking forward to try the pastries and food too. ā Walked a little further to get here again because I am too early for training and the cafe I want to sit in is full. Still one of the best latte Iāve had in London. Intensely nutty. Perhaps I should get a loyalty card by now. Windy, but not bad to enjoy some sunshine :)

Great coffee! I was passing through the neighbourhood and stumbled upon this coffee shop. Super cool and love the interior vibe. Thanks Edward for the great service and delicious coffee. I will be back soon when I pass through Surrey Quays station.

Twinkle Twinkle little star! A what a great surprise from such a small space!!! This cozy stop-over, take away, foodie heaven place, is full of good energy, great coffee & some very fresh and tasty snacks. Full of things to buy for your house or as gift, I was really holding myself not to spend extra money for my Xmas gifts. Some great ideas there. Full of great artistic objects, nice graphics and great aesthetics. So happy to have you in the neighbourhood little star!

Rating: 4.9 (201) Price Level:
Great service. Warm welcome Staff and they know their products well. We ordered matcha latte, honey red bean latte and crabbed the last piece of red bean cake. Highly recommend! It is a cozy place to catch up with friends.
Rating: 5 / 5
This cafe is a 10 out of 10! A five-star review is not enough to show how good their tea is. As a Taiwanese living in America and traveling here in England, I strongly miss a good milk tea to wake me up. This cafe is a dream come true. Although it's not their official opening today, it's a "trial opening," and their staff are super friendly, kindly asking us how the drinks taste and if we need more sugar in them. š We had the honey black milk tea and oolong milk tea, with options for regular milk and oat milk. Their Basque cake is richāit's not too sweet and has a delightful aroma of green tea/matcha. If you're a big fan of Basque cake or matcha, it's a must-order! They also have hot brownies that are fresh out of the oven, so be careful because they're really hot. But once you take a bite, you'll experience a strong chocolate and hazelnut taste. šµš° Among all the pastries I tried, my favorite is actually the banana cake. It's not too sweet, allowing you to really taste the nuts and banana inside. Unlike the oily versions I make myself, this one is light, moist, and has a delightful crunchiness and interesting texture. šš° The decoration and atmosphere are wonderful, reminiscent of being back in Asia. Plus, the lighting is perfect for pictures. šøāØ

A warm and inviting cafe, perfect for a relaxing coffee break. Their selection of carefully chosen beans and exquisite Chinese teas are top-notch. Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable to help with my order. I highly recommend their madeleinesāthey're soft, buttery, and absolutely delicious. My favourite was the jasmine one, must try! The banana cake with walnut is also fantastic, baked to perfection. Everything is prepared with such attention to detail and quality. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates great coffee, fine tea, and superb baked goods!

Came to this beautiful boutique coffee/tea shop on a Sunday with a couple of friends. What a lovely surprise! The coffee is delicious, and cannot recommend the mocha and black sesame cake enough. The artistic ambience is also calming and relaxing. It is a gem I selfishly want to keep it to myself. Highly recommended if you are tired of the chain coffee shops and want to try something unique.

The Pear Tree
D, Yeoman St, London SE8 5ET, UK | Restaurant P: 020 7237 6171
Rating: 4.5 (971) Price Level:
First of all, the food is really good and tasty. We went there for the breakfast. Unfortunately the coffee is 50/50: flat white is ok, but cappuccino has unusual proportions: itās mostly milk and you donāt really feel the coffee. The staff in restaurant was friendly and we felt very welcomed. Be sure: you need to book the table in advance (especially during the weekend), otherwise you would need to wait until a table is free.
Rating: 5 / 5
Warm and cozy restaurant and cafe. High quality products, fresh bakery and healthy meals. Easily becoming my go to place when I am around Surrey Quays
Rating: 5 / 5
Pear Tree is a newly opened cafe hidden behind the main street. They serve a delicious selection of dishes; my table ordered "Duck Hash" & a chicken dish with chips (forgot the name) - served with a tomato sauce & salad. Their food is fresh & every bite is delicious. Cafe is quite quiet and spenny in fact; the portions sizes are not that big either. I recommend coming here if you would like a fancy lunch or dinner. You can even dine in and work too! With more improvements - quality & quantity to complement the price of each item - The Pear Tree would be a spectacular spot for locals. Rating 4-5 stars, supporting local business.
Rating: 5 / 5
The menu is AMAZING. The prawn toast (in my pics) is my absolute fave - really delicious. I had a birthday brunch here a few days ago and asked for a table for around 15 people and for a small restaurant they made some accommodations and it was one of the best birthdays. Really lovely place and as an ex Aussie i appreciate all the snacks! Tim tams and all!
Rating: 5 / 5
Really impressed with the food from this place. I found it on Deliveroo and ordered the fried chicken and pancakes, as well as the Nasi Goreng. The pancakes were fresh, fluffy, and just right. I appreciated that the syrup was served on the side rather than drizzled on top, as I prefer to control how much I use. The Nasi Goreng was packed with delicious flavors and tasted fantastic. Both dishes were thoroughly enjoyable, and Iāll definitely be ordering from here again!

The Dabbling Duck
Middle St, Shere, Guildford GU5 9HF, UK | Cafe P: 01483 205791
Rating: 4.5 (1223) Price Level:
First time came and amazing villageā¦ we had latte and duck (which is full)breakfast which was very delicious. What amazed me was the breakfast was hot till half way through as I ate slowlyā¦ lol. Anyw, that was super tasty for me. The whole experience was lovely and we planned to come back again some time in the near future.
Rating: 4 / 5
Had a lovely breakfast at the dabbling duck. The staff were all very friendly and service and food could not be faulted. There was only one fly in the ointment. We sat inside the cafe as did a lot of dog owners. My friend has allergies and is a bit wary of dogs so it was a bit off putting to her. They were also all a bit over excited and ātalkingā to each other which made it hard for us to converse. Iāve no objection to well behaved dogs but not everyone feels the same for various reasons and they are not necessarily just being intolerant. The Dabbling Duck has a large heated marquee outside as well as covered heated outdoor seating. Would it not be a good compromise to welcome dogs only to these areas and keep the small inside seating area pet free. Other than that small niggle it was a lovely brunch before a bracing walk in beautiful countryside surrounding Shere.
Rating: 5 / 5
Cafe with quite a large garden area (partially covered - they have a heated yurt!) which is well done up and nice to sit in. Good selection of cakes and drinks with table service. A bit pricey though!
Rating: 5 / 5
This is my second time in Shere and at The Dabbling Duck. I came last year as well. I travel from New Zealand and love coming to this place with my family here in England. Great food and staff.
Rating: 4 / 5
Lovely dog friendly cafe in a beautiful village with lots of outdoor seating. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They have a good selection of lunch options. The only critique we would make is that the coffee and walnut cake had little to no coffee in it. But lunch was delicious.

The Barn
Wildlife Garden, Surrey Docks Farm,South Wharf, Rotherhithe Street Open Space, Rotherhithe St, London SE16 5ET, UK | Coffee Shop P: Not available
Rating: 4.6 (141) Price Level:
A really lovely little cafe with a view of the Thames, and attached to a small city farm. The outdoor seething is nicely space, with beautiful surroundings. The space inside is a little on the small side, but it doesnāt matter, because the service is quick. The staff are friendly and patient, he explained the food when we asked questions. All the food is really fresh and looks so good, with generous portions. I got a bottled fruit juice that had carrot and ginger in, and the plain sausage roll, which was actually full of flavour, and good quality Cumberland type meat. The staff member accidentally knocked it and straight away grabbed a different sausage for me, without me having to even ask, immaculate hygiene and attention to detail, an extra bonus, if I could give 6 stars, I would. I was really tempted by the cakes, they had all my favourites. This is a great location for lunch, or to sit whilst waiting for a friend. Itās family friendly and thereās vegetarian options. I will be back again.
Rating: 5 / 5
My favourite cafe given the great options for food and drinks. The staff are lovely, and work hard as they can even when there is a line out the door. If you donāt mind being patient then itās worth the wait on the busier days :)
Rating: 4 / 5
The coffee and pastries are great. The staff is ... well extremely slow to serve. It seems that whatever they are doing is done in slow motion. The location is great. Coffee prices are fine too. Recommended if you have time to wait in line for a long time on busy days.
Rating: 5 / 5
This is a delightful oasis in the hustle and bustle of London. As you walk there you begin to notice the quiet - then you turn the corner and you are faced with top notched baked goods coffee/tea. Very friendly service and a nice place to sit and unwind.
