The Best Cafes in Alfold Crossways, Surrey, United Kingdom (2025)

We’ve visited Altitude a number of times now, during the day for coffee and snacks and in the evening for cocktails and entertainment. The staff are always so lovely and welcoming and the service very quick. It’s a huge space which has been newly decorated to a very high standard and has a great atmosphere. There’s plenty of tables to sit at with lots of space around so you don’t ever feel cramped. We’ve so far tried their coffee and cocktails which are spot on. We’ve also had cakes, cookies and nachos which were spectacular!! Absolutely love this place, it’s a credit to the owners. We’ll definitely be back!

This is a fantastic coffee shop with a fantastic atmosphere and service. The Croissants are nice and large, with a lovely soft inside & crusty outer, and the Bacon and Brie filled Croissant's are well worth having the filling portion is a decent amount along with beautiful onion chutney. The prices are reasonable. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit Oh and another very big plus point they are dog friendly

Great coffee, I enjoyed my almond cappuccino. Staff were super friendly. Nice atmosphere and they got some outside seating.

Perfection! Family run setup with delicious food and great coffee! You can tell the quality of a cafe by the strength of their espresso…. This spot smashed it out of the park. Clientele are a mix of those who would drive a drop top vintage landrover to those who are kitted out head to toe in camouflage for finishing, not to mention the old age pensioners who are there for the sunshine… If you’re looking for high quality food and coffee, in a relaxed setting, close to nature, look no further. Highly recommended

I met friends for coffee at this lovely lakeside cafe. Staff were friendly and food was excellent. I had a chicken and hummus flatbread. The chicken was moist and the whole thing well presented and delicious. Service was a little slow but the warm welcome, good coffee and excellent food outweighed that.

First time came and amazing village… we had latte and duck (which is full)breakfast which was very delicious. What amazed me was the breakfast was hot till half way through as I ate slowly… lol. Anyw, that was super tasty for me. The whole experience was lovely and we planned to come back again some time in the near future.

Lovely dog friendly cafe in a beautiful village with lots of outdoor seating. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They have a good selection of lunch options. The only critique we would make is that the coffee and walnut cake had little to no coffee in it. But lunch was delicious.

This is my second time in Shere and at The Dabbling Duck. I came last year as well. I travel from New Zealand and love coming to this place with my family here in England. Great food and staff.

Cafe with quite a large garden area (partially covered - they have a heated yurt!) which is well done up and nice to sit in. Good selection of cakes and drinks with table service. A bit pricey though!

Really good attitude, helpful, v quick service. Came here after Cranleigh Parkrun with a group, and the atmosphere was relaxed, helpful and understanding. The kind of attention you get from a special team who understand people. Lovely. (English breakfast very good!)

Welcoming and relaxed, generous portions and delicious freshly cooked food that was well presented. Staff very obliging and accommodating. Thoroughly recommended.

The BEST chocolate cake around! This superb cafe is so friendly and does amazing food with fabulous service. My 3 year old is a regular and his favourite waitress goes out of her way to listen to him - he loves his babycinno and special treat and the coffee is really nice too 👍 thank you.

Yangaz Bistro went above and beyond, giving superb service today with a delivery of a large order of delicious food, on time and carefully labelled. Their extra care and attention took the strain, making it easy to host and everyone, from oldest to youngest could tuck into their favourite. Five stars and many thanks.

Popped by after a visit to the Aerodrome prior to our long drive home and found fantastic food and friendly staff as soon as we entered the door. Set in a characterful location with a great selection of well priced and freshly made breakfasts and drinks, all presented nicely in a home away from home environment. Really shows how local places can thrive when run with care and would certainly visit again if passing in the future.

Popped in today to get away from the Christmas rush. Food was amazing, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend

Update on my last review, as we chose this for a colleagues retirement meal. Everyone agrees, the food was excellent and the service exemplary.

My favourite coffee and cake shop by far! They have the most delicious cakes around, great tasting coffee and reasonably priced. Dog friendly too
