Alpher Coffee
Village hall, Cranleigh GU6 8AF, UK | Coffee Shop P: 07478 414670
Rating: 5 (10) Price Level:
Excellent quality coffees, available in different varieties and with your choice of whole bean or grind. Truly amazing and delicious flavours. update: 17 Dec 2024 Google reviews doesn't seem to easily allow time referenced updates. But just to add, I came across the 'Alpher Coffee' Coffee shop, in Cranleigh today, just up the steps, opposite Coop's main entrance from the Village Way car park. Amazing service, and I am happy to certify this is the best coffee I've ever had. If you are visiting Cranleigh, just pop in, really easy and they sell beans and grinds to take home too.

Such a good experience ordering from alpher coffee, the coffee beans arrived on time, well packed and the coffee itself was incredibly flavourful ! I have tried 3 different coffee makers (v60, French press, and espresso machine) and each time the coffee came out delicious đ

Rating: 4.8 (16) Price Level:
Visiting a business on the park so stopped in for a breakfast and a coffee. Welcomed as I walked in, very polite and friendly staff. Classic breakfast was delicious. A Tuesday morning and quiet to enjoy the food. Shame it's not somewhere I'll have to visit often but if I do The Cafe is on the list.

Only working in the area a couple of days, found this place on day 2, had cheese burger and chips, probably the best burger I've had đđ the chips were banging too đđ Friendly staff, lovely clean place. Wish I was back tomorrow đđ

For a cafe on an industrial estate, the food and the service was great. I had ordered to eat in and my food came in a takeaway container, but it didn't spoil my enjoyment.

The Dabbling Duck
Middle St, Shere, Guildford GU5 9HF, UK | Cafe P: 01483 205791
Rating: 4.5 (1223) Price Level:
Lovely dog friendly cafe in a beautiful village with lots of outdoor seating. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They have a good selection of lunch options. The only critique we would make is that the coffee and walnut cake had little to no coffee in it. But lunch was delicious.
Rating: 5 / 5
First time came and amazing village⌠we had latte and duck (which is full)breakfast which was very delicious. What amazed me was the breakfast was hot till half way through as I ate slowly⌠lol. Anyw, that was super tasty for me. The whole experience was lovely and we planned to come back again some time in the near future.
Rating: 5 / 5
This is my second time in Shere and at The Dabbling Duck. I came last year as well. I travel from New Zealand and love coming to this place with my family here in England. Great food and staff.
Rating: 4 / 5
Had a lovely breakfast at the dabbling duck. The staff were all very friendly and service and food could not be faulted. There was only one fly in the ointment. We sat inside the cafe as did a lot of dog owners. My friend has allergies and is a bit wary of dogs so it was a bit off putting to her. They were also all a bit over excited and âtalkingâ to each other which made it hard for us to converse. Iâve no objection to well behaved dogs but not everyone feels the same for various reasons and they are not necessarily just being intolerant. The Dabbling Duck has a large heated marquee outside as well as covered heated outdoor seating. Would it not be a good compromise to welcome dogs only to these areas and keep the small inside seating area pet free. Other than that small niggle it was a lovely brunch before a bracing walk in beautiful countryside surrounding Shere.

Cafe with quite a large garden area (partially covered - they have a heated yurt!) which is well done up and nice to sit in. Good selection of cakes and drinks with table service. A bit pricey though!

Altitude Coffee & Cocktail Bar
50 High St, Cranleigh GU6 8AG, UK | Coffee Shop P: Not available
Rating: 4.5 (45) Price Level:
Weâve visited Altitude a number of times now, during the day for coffee and snacks and in the evening for cocktails and entertainment. The staff are always so lovely and welcoming and the service very quick. Itâs a huge space which has been newly decorated to a very high standard and has a great atmosphere. Thereâs plenty of tables to sit at with lots of space around so you donât ever feel cramped. Weâve so far tried their coffee and cocktails which are spot on. Weâve also had cakes, cookies and nachos which were spectacular!! Absolutely love this place, itâs a credit to the owners. Weâll definitely be back!

Great coffee, I enjoyed my almond cappuccino. Staff were super friendly. Nice atmosphere and they got some outside seating.
Rating: 5 / 5
This is a fantastic coffee shop with a fantastic atmosphere and service. The Croissants are nice and large, with a lovely soft inside & crusty outer, and the Bacon and Brie filled Croissant's are well worth having the filling portion is a decent amount along with beautiful onion chutney. The prices are reasonable. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit Oh and another very big plus point they are dog friendly

Amarone Italian Restaurant
96-102 High St, Cranleigh GU6 8AJ, UK | Restaurant P: 01483 671250
Rating: 4.6 (76) Price Level:
Great first visit! We went in on a very busy Friday night, there were only a couple of tables free. The food still came out in really good time. Restaurant itself looks great, nicely air conditioned, comfortable seats and clean. The menu offers a very wide range of Italian food with some more unusual items on there. The food itself was really tasty. Lamb fell off the bone, with a great taste. Service was good, we could pick out table which is a nice change to places that donât ask. Even though it was busy, the guys did a good job keeping everybody attended to and we didnât feel we waited too long for anything.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great food very nice and polite staff
Rating: 5 / 5
This restaurant is a quality Italian restaurant serving great pizza and well-cooked pasta and other traditional dishes. Very good decor, very welcoming. A good place to go for that 'slightly posher' meal that is special, but also good for a quick pizza in a nice environment. Will definitely visit again!

Maddings
North Barn, Whipley Manor Farm, Palmers Cross, Guildford GU5 0LL, UK | Restaurant P: Not available
Rating: 4.7 (175) Price Level:
Great cafe, recommended to us by the cat salon lady. Food was yummy, we ordered french toast but it was very different to the usual french toast (just letting u know). Atmosphere was great and yeah overall lovely!
Rating: 5 / 5
Absolutely beautiful cafe! It is so nice to go to a cafe that does different types of food rather than the standard toasties and avocado on toast. This cafe does beautiful, seasonal food with locally sourced ingredients and many items either from the farm or locally foraged. The taste is beautiful and fresh. The cafe itself is tastefully decorated with an open kitchen. We visited on a sunny day and it was fresh, airy and open. The tables are a nice distance apart and there is no blaring music. The service is also top-notch thanks to the very experience Angela. We were well attended to and everything ran really smoothly. We will be back and would highly recommend.

Been working our way through the menu on multiple visits and everything is amazing! The Sunday Roasts are an absolute must. Consistently fresh, amazing quality and tasty food. Also a suntrap so make sure to sit outside on a nice day âď¸

Rating: 4.5 (16) Price Level:
I took my mum for lunch at Joanna's today. The food was delicious, the staff were lovely and very attentive, and the setting is beautiful. It was busy but we did not have to wait long for service. Highly recommend!
Rating: 5 / 5
Great food and service at Joannaâs. Scones were delicious, club sandwich huge and tasty, cupcakes we took home were wolfed down by the teenagers, coffee extra hot (as requested). Weâll definitely be back. A great addition to the high street in Cranleigh.

Brown's Surrey Gin & Tea Bar
Bank Buildings, 159 High St, The Common, Cranleigh GU6 8BB, UK | Bar P: 07741 335724
Rating: 4.7 (143) Price Level:
My partner and I visited this lovely cafe for lunch, wanting to try somewhere a bit different, and we were absolutely over the moon with our experience! The decor is stunning, with a boutique-style ambiance that feels both glamorous and cozy. The bar, with its wide range of drinks, immediately caught our eye. The atmosphere was perfectârelaxing music and charming board games on the tables added a delightful touch! The customer service was exceptional. We were served by a very lovely gentleman (who we believe might be the owner), and he made us feel so welcome, catering to our every need with genuine warmth. We opted for the ciabatta sandwiches, paired with coffee. We enjoyed our time so much that we didnât want to leave, so we treated ourselves to cocktails afterwardâthey were absolutely irresistible and so refreshing! This cafe is a gem, and we canât recommend it enough. A thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. Weâll definitely be back!
Rating: 5 / 5
Such a lovely warm inviting experience at this place. The service is friendly and attentive. Our meal was so tasty and the cocktails were the best we have had. He even serves normal drinks with a attention to detail. We'll be back.

Wild & Green Kitchen
180 High St, The Common, Cranleigh GU6 8RG, UK | Cafe P: 07714 559714
Rating: 4.6 (173) Price Level:
We went for lunch today on our first visit and were really impressed. The coffee actually tasted like coffee and the hot food was equally tasty. The menu was eclectic and made a change from the usual panini. Also, very good value.
Rating: 5 / 5
First time popping into Wild & Green as just moved into the area. Really lovely inside and great service. The only sad thing is that itâs not that easy to see from the road so need to redesign their balcony area to make it more inviting. We are looking forward to coming back for their Friday and Saturday evenings!
Rating: 5 / 5
I love this place. I often head there early on a Sunday when it's still quiet for some sourdough toast and coffee. Both are delicious and the staff are warm and welcoming.
Rating: 4 / 5
Popped in for Sunday brunch. Great food and service was good. I had the avocado on toast with poached egg and bacon and it was delicious. Not a great fan of the coffee but that's more to do with personal taste. Atmosphere was good and we had plenty of space including a child buggy and high chair.

Lakeside Cafe - Cranleigh
Willinghurst Estate, Shamley Green, Guildford GU5 0SU, UK | Cafe P: 07528 171022
Rating: 4.6 (54) Price Level:
Perfection! Family run setup with delicious food and great coffee! You can tell the quality of a cafe by the strength of their espressoâŚ. This spot smashed it out of the park. Clientele are a mix of those who would drive a drop top vintage landrover to those who are kitted out head to toe in camouflage for finishing, not to mention the old age pensioners who are there for the sunshine⌠If youâre looking for high quality food and coffee, in a relaxed setting, close to nature, look no further. Highly recommended
Rating: 5 / 5
I met friends for coffee at this lovely lakeside cafe. Staff were friendly and food was excellent. I had a chicken and hummus flatbread. The chicken was moist and the whole thing well presented and delicious. Service was a little slow but the warm welcome, good coffee and excellent food outweighed that.
Rating: 5 / 5
Lovely setting by the lake. Reasonable prices. Great food and coffee.
