Popped in on vague off chance on 23rd Dec 1815 that they will still be open for an emergency Christmas present. Lady was locking up , shop lights off. She was so super helpful, opened the shop especially for me and quickly came up with a fab recommendation for me. A very happy customer. Thankyou

Popped in by chance on an exploratory sunday excursion with my mother. Very wide range of local craft goods, great coffee and ridiculously delicious toasties - Could have happily demolished 4 of them.... Picked up some brilliant craft cider , also saw a lot of great cheese , fresh local meats , soft drinks, fancy picnic hamper services etc. Very friendly and helpful lady serving. 100% worth a visit any time you're in Godalming.

Found this place when dog sitting for a friend in Godalming. The perfect shop does exist. The team that work there are super friendly and make great coffee too. We only popped in to look and left with nice coffee and some tasty snacks. They have a great range including loads of craft beer and indy gins. They do great custom gift hampers and we ordered a vegan one as a gift for a friend (so yes, they have loads of vegan goodies too). If i lived in Godalming, this would be a frequent visit. As i only visit the area occasionally, i know we'll make a trip to... 'that shop with all the real goodness in it'.

This place is so like my favourite deli in Girona , Spain. Amazing coffee, best liquorice, craft beers and loads more. Love it 😍

Great little stop, very close to Surrey Orthodontists which makes it handy for a quick tea or coffee if you’re early for an appointment. Always friendly, quiet. Not an overwhelming environment for those with ASC/SPD.

The best coffee in Godalming, hands down! We recently moved to the area and a visit here helped us choose the area knowing we could come here for an independent coffee! For anyone getting a takeaway coffee from one of the chains, please give The Journalist a go, you won’t regret it!

The best coffee in Godalming :) We stopped here twice, because once wasn’t enough, and got the pumpkin spiced latte both times. While we didn’t get any cakes, it looked incredibly tempting. There is also chess and board games available, which is great for a rainy day. The interior is very welcoming and cosy and it is dog-friendly, with dog biscuits and water.

Superb coffee and a cozy atmosphere! Voted the best in all of Surrey, and I couldn’t agree more. Merve is unbelievably friendly and personable. The baklava was the perfect addition to my cappuccino. Highly recommend this spot—I'll definitely be back!

My girlfriend and I came into ask about filming location for the film The Holiday. Very informative discussion then ended up have a lovely ice cream here. Well worth it. Thanks.

Exceptionally welcoming, helpful and friendly people running this delightful little place! We had the most amazing hot chocolates! I tried the ruby hot chocolate which was so so delicious I wish I lived closer, I’d be there all the time 😆. Both the man and the lady working that day were really sweet and helpful and very knowledgeable too. We’d highly recommend.. they made us feel more than welcome 🤗

Update (July 2024) We are regulars and are delighted with their new matcha delight. We just got a tub and had it for dessert after dinner. The flavors of Uji Kyoto ended our day marvelously. Thank you, Delights Team! ----------------+- Ewen, Albert and his Godalming Delights team offer real delights to our lives. We have anniversaries in April (2020) and, although the early lockdown was already daunting, their ice-cream delivery services made our days special indeed. We usually tend to buy their ice cream in a big tub in two flavours in layers so we can continue to enjoy them at home. (They do sell their cones and buying in bulk is economical!) They have a good range of vegan selections; and their vegan ginger and orange chocolate slice - OMG a heavenly delight! PS (Summer 2021) We've just had their ice-cream milk shakes (mixture of two types of ice creams of one's choice). It was a delightful different experience recommended for the regulars!

This is my second time in Shere and at The Dabbling Duck. I came last year as well. I travel from New Zealand and love coming to this place with my family here in England. Great food and staff.

Lovely dog friendly cafe in a beautiful village with lots of outdoor seating. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They have a good selection of lunch options. The only critique we would make is that the coffee and walnut cake had little to no coffee in it. But lunch was delicious.

Had a lovely breakfast at the dabbling duck. The staff were all very friendly and service and food could not be faulted. There was only one fly in the ointment. We sat inside the cafe as did a lot of dog owners. My friend has allergies and is a bit wary of dogs so it was a bit off putting to her. They were also all a bit over excited and ‘talking’ to each other which made it hard for us to converse. I’ve no objection to well behaved dogs but not everyone feels the same for various reasons and they are not necessarily just being intolerant. The Dabbling Duck has a large heated marquee outside as well as covered heated outdoor seating. Would it not be a good compromise to welcome dogs only to these areas and keep the small inside seating area pet free. Other than that small niggle it was a lovely brunch before a bracing walk in beautiful countryside surrounding Shere.

Cafe with quite a large garden area (partially covered - they have a heated yurt!) which is well done up and nice to sit in. Good selection of cakes and drinks with table service. A bit pricey though!

We stopped off here on our way to the Top Gear airstrip / racetrack and, after my partner's initial misgivings as we drove on to the business park, we were very pleasantly surprised. It's clearly popular, both with people who work in the various offices close by and people who live I the surrounding area, and it's easy to see why. The layout is reminiscent of some English railway station cafés, with a functional counter at one end, next to a fridge with soft drinks, confectionery and food, but that's where the similarity ends because the staff are all very friendly and the food is lovely 😀 We had a falafel and houmous wrap, a cajun chicken salad, and a bag of ham and mustard crisps that had quite an impressive kick in places! We went on our way very glad we'd stopped off, and would definitely call in again.

What a wonderful find this lovely little cafe is! Visited today with friends and we’re so pleased we did. The food is excellent but the prices are extremely competitive... £4.95 for my jacket potato with cheese, beans and crispy bacon - also comes with a side salad which I thought was very good value indeed. Service was super quick, all of the staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly and the cafe is spotlessly clean inside. If the weather is on your side and you want to dine outside, there’s also a beautiful lawned area with lots of tables and chairs so we will definitely be coming back again. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Love it here. A group of 25 of us booked an area for morning coffee. They made sure we all had whatever drinks and cake we wanted. We all had a ticket we could add to and paid when we left. Well done, Pavilion staff - we'll be back.

Loverly cafe dog friendly nice food only found by luck took wrong turning but turned out to be best wrong turn I've made value for money that's for sure I am in building trade so cafes are my thing and none come close

Visited this cute cafe 3 days ago, drove from Portsmouth to Ramster garden and then drove to this lovely cafe. Loved the ambience, the service was so warm, welcoming and friendly. Absolutely loved the peanut butter banana cake. Waiting to visit/drive to this place again.

Absolutely amazing breakfast, we had the avacado on sour bread. All is made in their kitchen by the owner himself! Great presentation and attention to detail. Also had the cake and coffee in their outdoor seating. Will definitely be coming here very regularly now! Felt like I was on holiday 😊

Outstanding! Fabulous food, great range, good value, beautifully presented and freshly prepared. Highly recommend the full English (not greasy, just tasty). Always lovely specials on offer and the service is exceptional, super friendly with our (noisy and messy) babies with lots of seating including a sofa corner and lots of covered outside space. I forgot to mention my baby can’t have dairy and they whipped me up a fresh plate of eggs on toast free of charge. Oh and the homemade cakes are out of this world. Well worth a visit!!

The food was amazing and staff were great, they accommodated to my dietary needs without hesitation(which are not the easiest to accommodate to!). The food tasted great and the service was top notch. Not forgetting this cafe makes the best coffee I’ve ever had and the staff are always happy to help if you’re not sure what to choose from the menu. Great experience 10/10

Superb breakfasts and coffee, we had dirty breakfast fries, half English, pancakes and eggs benedict. Everyone loved their food, really friendly service and great atmosphere. We will be back to try the rest of the menu 😋

Adorable cafe with inside and outdoor seating. I saw on the menu they do a pre-book afternoon tea as well! The loose leaf jasmine tea was a bit strong, but the pot was a very nice piece and my avocado toast was the delish. They compensated for our group of 6 and we all paid separately very easily!

Had been meaning to visit for a while but this morning saw my first visit. It will not be my last. Excellent filter coffee and Eggs Benedict. Great friendly service. What a perfect way to start a Tuesday!!

Late morning on a Thursday - Not crowded but busy. Two great breakfasts and a superb king-size burger. Nice cup of tea and a latte. Great service, will come again when in town. Parking close by in public car park.

We absolutely revere Godalming Cafe. My boss was recommended it by his previous work mate and as we work in the area, either a very bad day or very good day will often result in a trip here. Excellent all-day breakfasts (Freshly squeezed orange juice in pints and freshly made smoothies are also exceptional) with massive portions at very good value for money, friendly staff and good service. Would choose this place above the overpriced high street chain cafe's every damn time.

Classic British cafe. Decent quality of ingredients on the breakfast. Friendly guys running the place. All you can ask for really. Spent about £20 for two breakfasts with drinks.

I was just visiting the area and stumbled upon this lovely cafe. I was a little unsure if its the kind of food I fancied at first as I was only looking for a bakery at first. The menu was inside so I had to entry to read it. Upon entering I found it to be clean and functional. I went up to the counter where the lady was very polite and friendly. I ordered the "fat boy" breakfast as seeing the large menu had got me hungry. It was on the table within minutes and everything was cooked to a very nice standard. Whilst eating my meal I noticed the staff talking to customers in the dining area as they came in and out. They were all very polite and cheerful throughout. Overall I don't think you could beat it for the price and I will definitely be going back when I'm next here. Thank you very much!

Amazing place , amazing staff and I love coming here. Have been there before as well. This time reached after 3 pm so food options were limited . So we tried hot chocolate and scones and loved both. Fruit Scone was really really nice. Next time I will try the cheese scone :)

December 2024 What a great little find this cafe was! We were staying nearby and fancied some brunch so I was really happy to find this place. We both had Eggs Royale and it was fabulous. The eggs were fresh local eggs with that wonderful orange yolk as proof. The coffee there is really good also. Service was excellent, the cafe itself is really homely and there is a great selection of homemade cakes on display. I totally recommend this cafe and will come back when I’m next in the area.

I love this cafe. I come here every other week with my best friend. The staff, without exception, are polite, efficient and a pleasure. The food is excellent and theres a good vegetarian breakfast option. The interior decor gives a warm welcoming feel and the atmosphere is great. My go to cafe in the local area 🙂

Absolutely wonderful! If you’re looking for a quintessentially English cafe to enjoy on a sunny (or rainy) day, I can’t recommend this place enough! Food is amazing and reasonably priced, staff friendly, covid secure, and the setting is like something from a fairy tale. The big barn breakfast is enough to satisfy the largest of appetites and the Eggs Benedict came with a lovely dressed salad so we were very happy customers indeed (breakfast was still served at lunchtime which we thought was great!) And as for the cakes... simply divine! Don’t hesitate to give this place a try if you’re in the area- I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed.
