“First time here and definitely won't be our last! The breakfast burrito was delicious, my husband had the chicken Benedict and we shared a two stack of pancakes. Won't be eating any dinner that's for sure. Lovely little place”

“Came for the pancake week specials, was not disappointed. I got a steak and egg 2 stack anf my partner got a buffalo chicken 1 stack. All delicious but she was the dinner winner. We shared the veggie tots which were lush as always.”

“A bittersweet review. We've been coming here for almost 4 years. Food has always been great when you can get a seat and when you can't, takeaway is available. Choices are a plenty and you are looked after promptly. No faults on that part... ... However ... 3 years ago we wanted to book a table, 4 adults and a baby. We booked a table for 4, when we got there, we were almost "told off" by the lady for having the push chair/baby. My in laws were with us and they thought it was rude the way it came across, so don't like to come back here. Fast forward to our recent visit in the last week. Wanted to book a table, deliberately asked how busy they were, everything was fine as long as it was tea and cake (no cooked food). So booked a table for 4. Turned up with my parents this time, our little boy and a 4 month old baby. Our little boy was going to sit on my lap and the baby in the car seat. Once again, "told off" by exactly the same person that did it 3 years ago. I clearly didn't learn my lesson last time! Apparently we should have booked a table for 6, not 4. Even though our children were not taking up any other seats. Remarkably the lady followed it up by saying it's for fire reasons and capacity. But you only had to look around the seating area to see 3-4 tables free, so not exactly packed out. This is the first time I took my parents here and they said the same thing. Food was great but the comment came across rude. We've never had this issue at other places and we go to quite a lot, but perhaps it's because they are so restricted for space. In fairness, perhaps there's fault on our part for not stating the other extras in our family, but by that extension, nothing was said about the several dogs in the property taking up space around the tables and lying on the floor to create tripping hazards. Talk about fire risk? 🤔 Nevertheless, a lovely place to go, you won't be disappointed if you can get in there. Just learn from our mistakes and book for every person/creature you plan to bring with you. Be it a baby, a toddler, a dog/cat/hamster etc. Let the staff make the decision of how big the table size is and if they can accommodate you, then there's no confusion or crossed wires. We are unlikely to be going back now after our recent experience, but this shouldn't discourage anyone else, because it's likely a fault on our part.”

“The Yard at Moon Roast is an idyllic spot to have a coffee or light meal outside on a Summers day. Plenty of tables inside too. Nice staff and a Hampshire farm hipster feel, the house-roasted coffee is wonderful, and the cakes delicious. I had smoked trout on toast … delicious. Really cycle friendly. A very special place.”

“It was my first time visiting The Beaulieu Bakehouse today and I am already looking forward to returning. Booked a table for breakfast and although it was empty when we arrived, probably due to the rain, it quickly filled up so is worth doing. It is such a quirky, cosy place inside and we had a great spot in the window seat. I mainly chose to go as they had such an extensive breakfast menu, especially for vegetarians/vegans. I chose the veggie hash, (fried potatoes, spinach, peppers, onions, veggie sausage and eggs.) They were happy to switch up the fried eggs with scrambled and it was absolutely delicious. Couldn't fault it. I was also really impressed with drinks menu. Alongside the usual hot beverages, there was a huge selection of milkshakes, frappes and iced coffees, which were delicious. Only marked the service down one star as our drinks came out with the food, and would have been nice to get them a bit sooner, but it wasn't really a big deal. Can't wait to come and try the lunch menu next week. Would highly recommend!”

“Wonderful! We went to Friday night's music evening and everything about the venue was just perfect - the music; the street food courtesy of Earth to Oven; indoor and outdoor seating which interconnects beautifully in one space, and an overall 'holiday' vibe in tastefully designed surroundings. “Outstanding! From the attentive staff, to the amazing food they serve, to the wonderful atmosphere that transcends and transports you into a world of love, culture and art. We discovered this piece of gem by pure chance, when exploring the city centre and thought we should try it out, as it looked very interesting when passing through…what a wonderful surprise we’ve had! The best basque cheesecake I’ve tried so far in the UK! The sandwiches they serve are authentic, made with the most delicious home bread ♥️ Just before we left, we had the pleasure to exchange a few thoughts with one of the owners…such a pleasure, such a wonderful spirit It will always now stick with us “the Bloomsbury group and their - “live in squares, paint in circles and love in triangles” Life’s magic is everywhere and in everything !”

“When we visited on a Saturday around 1.15, they seemed to have run out of quite a few of the toasties and wraps, which was the same. We paid easily, and out heated food came fairly quickly. My vegan meatball wrap was burnt on the top and bottom, but apart from that, it was pretty tasty. There's plenty of seating inside the cafe, and everywhere was pretty clean and tidy. Staff werenall friendly and welcoming.”
