Reviews
Fabulous staff, delicious food, and surprisingly affordable! This place will be a new regular stop for us.
I just had my birthday party upstairs in the function room of the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Mytholmroyd.
I just cannot recommend this place highly enough.
If I could give 10 stars I would. For a starters, the Landlords, Mark & Oscar just could not have been better hosts and they were so incredibly welcoming, warm, accommodating and generous. They made the whole experience absolutely delightful for myself and my guests. They had even commissioned a local Baker to make me a delicious Birthday cake and my favourite butterfly buns.
Also, I really like the function room because it has lots of windows, so it was very nice at the beginning of the Summer evening because the sunshine was streaming through the windows and then later, as it got darker, it was just a very lovely atmosphere and a very relaxed nice space to be in, with a bar upstairs just for us, which was amazing.
I also love going to this pub for lunch because I really like to see Mark and Oscar and I enjoy the food, the decor of the place, but mainly because the atmosphere is so easy-going and relaxed.
Even though I live in Huddersfield, about 20 minutes drive from Mytholmroyd, it’s become my favourite Pub. I’ve been there twice for lunch and really enjoyed it.
What a super friendly pub. Ordered steak and suet pudding, and roast beef dinner, after chocolate orange cheesecake. Could not fault , absolutely fab food. Dog friendly. Would recommend .
Tasty Christmas menu meal. Melt in the mouth scallops to start with were delicious. Big helpings of turkey, veg and trimmings for main and a huge wallop of cream on the trifle for dessert. A decent bitter and pale ale too. Friendly and interested staff. Will definitely be back.
Lovely local pub serving delicious food! We opted for the steak pie and it was amazing! The owners and staff are very friendly and the local regular customers are charming characters. Well worth a visit if needing food and refreshment after a walk. I would advise booking a table in advance.

"Really great bar with a great selection of local craft beers, plus wines, gins and so on. Plenty of seating too and friendly staff. Only way it could ..."
