Very peaceful site to visit at any time of the year. Lots of things for children to do (playground) Interesting addition of the Chinese garden. (my favourite place) You can eat outside in the summer or bring a picnic. Plenty of seating inside to enjoy something to eat or drink. The staff are always so friendly.
Fantastic time at RHS Bridgewater.
In the dark this time, at Glow!
Really well organised and walked along by the guided paths to take in the moody lighting effects. It was misty the night we went and this seemed to enhance the effect.
Great for adults and children too.
Even under leaden Manchester skies at the end of January, the gardens were beautiful with structural stems. We arrived at the advertised opening time 10am, and the car park was already 4 rows full. We think the cafe was open from 9am. Being mid-winter there were no flowers out, but it still a very interesting place to walk around, and for us better as fewer crowds.
The Bridgewater gardens are not just for Christmas, visit all year round it is stunning. I have been multiple times in good and bad weather. They also do a good roast potato something we discovered after getting a bit cold on a hail infested day. I would recommend a tea and lovely wonder around the walled gardens.
I particularly like the woods and Japanese gardens. They put different activities on throughout the year too.
We spent a lovely sunny October afternoon here (thanks to O2 priority). Although it was busy on our visit it didn't feel so,because of the amount of open space and big wide paths. We were blown away by how good an attraction it is. The many different gardens are beautiful. The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and helped make our visit more enjoyable. The RHS shop is very good and well stocked and there are various places to eat and drink. We had a lovely lunch at the "Stables" with a couple of glasses of wine and a cold beer sat in glorious autumn sunshine. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon in October.
