Great find of a place. Very tasty Thai food and great drinks selection. And, even though you have to pay for the drinks and food on two separate machines, it is a smooth and seamless operation and does not feel like a hassle. They also allow dogs into one part of the restaurant which was a bonus, the staff are super friendly and efficient.

Lovely meal. The staff are very helpful, attentive, and clearly care a lot about the customer’s experience. The place is very clean. It is excellent to have Thai food in Elstead, thank you. I would definitely come again. The prices are fair. I think the portion sizes were perfect, but if you are looking for huge servings, this restaurant may not be for you. It is recommended that you order a set meal, which I would agree with. Thank you very much GOLDEN FLEECE. Toilet facilities - very clean and well kept.

Food is really excellent and nice service times and gaps between courses. The portion size is on the small side, so you may feel you have to order extra food. If not concerned by extra cost I'd order extra starter or meal between group. No chips served at this restaurant.

Had a lovely evening at this Thai pub restaurant. The flavours were spot-on, with each dish tasting fresh and authentic. It was a cosy spot to enjoy great food. Portions were a bit smaller than expected, compared to years ago at least. Overall a great spot for Thai food.

Absolutely wonderful! If you’re looking for a quintessentially English cafe to enjoy on a sunny (or rainy) day, I can’t recommend this place enough! Food is amazing and reasonably priced, staff friendly, covid secure, and the setting is like something from a fairy tale. The big barn breakfast is enough to satisfy the largest of appetites and the Eggs Benedict came with a lovely dressed salad so we were very happy customers indeed (breakfast was still served at lunchtime which we thought was great!) And as for the cakes... simply divine! Don’t hesitate to give this place a try if you’re in the area- I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed. Thank you to all of the team for our wonderful visit today xx

December 2024 What a great little find this cafe was! We were staying nearby and fancied some brunch so I was really happy to find this place. We both had Eggs Royale and it was fabulous. The eggs were fresh local eggs with that wonderful orange yolk as proof. The coffee there is really good also. Service was excellent, the cafe itself is really homely and there is a great selection of homemade cakes on display. I totally recommend this cafe and will come back when I’m next in the area.

I love this cafe. I come here every other week with my best friend. The staff, without exception, are polite, efficient and a pleasure. The food is excellent and theres a good vegetarian breakfast option. The interior decor gives a warm welcoming feel and the atmosphere is great. My go to cafe in the local area 🙂

Had a lovely family lunch. Food was excellent, staff were very attentive. Unfortunately we didn’t give ourselves enough time to thoroughly enjoy everything. Next time we’ll come an hour earlier. For anyone who needs to know they actually shut at three, not just the kitchen as is normally the case, but definitely worth visiting.

We visited on a Sunday evening. Great food, three of us had the pork medallions, I had the lamb casserole, all of which were excellent. Limited choice of desserts (4) from the sweet trolley, which were all cake-type, no other options were available. The service was efficient and friendly, although I felt there was a little pressure to have the carvery (we were there almost at the end of the food service time). There was a reasonable choice of wines by the glass at OK prices. Parking is not easy, there are only about 8 spaces available, although off street parking was available nearby (seemed a long way on a very wet evening!). Overall a good experience and we'd definitely go back.

Great, middle of nowhere country pub. We visited today after our 6 mile hike. The pub is dog friendly, which was great for us as we had borrowed our friends dog for the day. Dog bowls located inside French doors in patio garden area, with a huge keg outside to fill them. Car park is spacious. Play area. Nice, clean restaurant and toilets. Food was served quickly and was presented beautifully, hot and with a friendly smile. Not overly priced, a lovely atmosphere and made to feel very welcome. We will return.

Booked this lovely pub for our 21st Wedding Anniversary as I have passed it many a time on bike rides with my club and always thought of giving it a try. The pub is in a lovely setting in the Surrey Hills and has a lovely country/gastro pub vibe to it with good parking and spacious garden area with rattan furniture. Inside is very modern and clean, staff are super friendly and attentive, with food coming out in a very timely manner. The menu has lots to choose from with plenty of vegan options so shouldn't be issues with food selection. Drinks are of a good selection with a cocktail menu and are freshly made without pre-made syrups. All in all a great place to celebrate our anniversary and if you're not celebrating anything, a lovely place to eat and drink in the Surrey Hills.

I read somewhere that this place boasts the best Roast in the county, and they're not wrong. Big, hearty portions with a great range of offerings in additions to the classics. Desserts were the surprise package, get the Yorkie & Butter pudding, unbelievable Jeff. Staff looked after us really well and the setting is delightful. Top marks all round!

Been here twice now and will definitely return. Food is a little pricey but it is worth it. Great menu with lots of tasty vegan options for starters, mains and dessert. Had the garlic flatbread with black olive tepenade, banana blossom "fish" and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce and to finish, sticky toffee pudding with oat flat white. All really lovely and service was brilliant. Look forward to returning.

Brilliant place with a fantastic view and a playground for little ones. Service is fantastic very attentive. Food was beautiful, I've order chicken nuggets for my daughter for £7.50, portion was huge, and the actual nuggets were large pieces od breaded chicken breast with cheddar inside. All portions were large and super tasty, they're using local produce from Secretts farm. Just beautiful. Great experience all throughout.

Always a nice welcome and friendly staff and this lovely community-run local pub. In the summer we have enjoyed eating in the garden with its far reaching views. We have eaten here a few times and until now always had good food. But on this occasion the food was poor. The pie was swimming in gravy that lacked any flavour, it would also have been nicer to serve the gravy separately. Sadly the food was cold and had to be returned to the kitchen, the pub was not busy and it really seemed a shame that they missed the mark on this occassion. We also noted that the menu was not as interesting as it had been earlier in the year. I am hoping this was a 'blip' and that normal service will resume. We will give it another go sometime soon.

We stopped off here on our way to the Top Gear airstrip / racetrack and, after my partner's initial misgivings as we drove on to the business park, we were very pleasantly surprised. It's clearly popular, both with people who work in the various offices close by and people who live I the surrounding area, and it's easy to see why. The layout is reminiscent of some English railway station cafés, with a functional counter at one end, next to a fridge with soft drinks, confectionery and food, but that's where the similarity ends because the staff are all very friendly and the food is lovely 😀 We had a falafel and houmous wrap, a cajun chicken salad, and a bag of ham and mustard crisps that had quite an impressive kick in places! We went on our way very glad we'd stopped off, and would definitely call in again.

What a wonderful find this lovely little cafe is! Visited today with friends and we’re so pleased we did. The food is excellent but the prices are extremely competitive... £4.95 for my jacket potato with cheese, beans and crispy bacon - also comes with a side salad which I thought was very good value indeed. Service was super quick, all of the staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly and the cafe is spotlessly clean inside. If the weather is on your side and you want to dine outside, there’s also a beautiful lawned area with lots of tables and chairs so we will definitely be coming back again. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Such a treat to celebrate a friend's birthday here. We ordered a meat platter for four and it was absolutely massive; more than enough food! It was really delicious, although some of the meats were slightly on the salty side so be aware if you're sensitive to that. Otherwise, we had such a great time and we were also given boxes to takeaway the leftovers which was a huge bonus!

An absolutely incredible dining experience. We were welcomed by the most friendly staff, who made us feel right at home and were ready to answer our questions straight from the outset. They had humour and whit to match any good comedian. When it came to deciding, they were fantastic at helping navigate our choices, bringing some more of that humour and whit, giving us an already incredible dining experience before the food even came our way. And when the food did come, it matched everything they hyped it to be (and more!). Incredible flavours, amazingly served, adventurous and creative in not only unique recipes (certainly we've never seen things like this elsewhere) but also in their whole food experience crated by presentation and staff. Basically, go! Get yourself there for lunch, for dinner, or any other food reason, you won't regret it! It is meat haven, burger central, and full of fun and creative flavours and ideas!

Service is truly brilliant. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Decor is lovely, cosy and welcoming. However food wasn't as great as we had hoped. Quite overpriced to for what we had. The rice bowl had too many conflicting flavours. The ceaser side was delicious but really just very expensive lettuce with tasty source. Short rib had great flavour and was beautifully smokey but a bit too fatty for our liking. Lovely venue just wish the food had been better

Driven past loads of times but never been in before. Pleasantly surprised. It is deceiving big inside with a separate restaurant and bar area. A beautiful garden with pod like structures which must be lovely to use in the summer. It a cold February day so we cozy up in the bar area. Lots of little areas with comfy chairs for just drinks or tables and chairs carefully placed in windows and not too close to other tables. We chose to eat in the bar, the only downside was you had to order yourself at the bar. The bar area was lovely and quiet with a fire roaring in the hearth. A lovely bubbly older lady saw to us and settled us at a window table. She really did add to the ambiance of the place. The service, price and food was really good. We opted for the two course lunch menu and it was really tasty, hot and well presented. In hindsight we chose the bar area to dine and we were pleased with our choice. When we left the restaurant was incredibly busy and the noise levels were certainly higher than the tranquility of our table in the bar. Would we come again? Most definitely.

The location was stunning, we ate on the bank of the river with the gentle sound of flowing water in the background. The service was prompt, friendly and competent. BUT THE FOOD!.. was truly excellent! We shared the 22oz steak and I can honestly say it was one of the best steaks either of us had ever had. Little scenic spots on the riverside over this old mill. Warm hut with cover seating available, with complimentary blankets and above heaters for chilly nights, small bar inside with all the favourite and popular spirits and some exclusive brands unseen anywhere else. The stag, always features a top notch menu , when passing through the south east we always pop by as we love and enjoy everything the stag offer and the staff are always so kind and welcoming. They also have limited luxury rooms however we have never stayed.
