My child was 2 years behind in maths at school. We had never heard of Kumon but an educational psychologist recommended trying it.
Since starting we have not looked back. Just over 1 year later school have noticed a huge improvement and now mark my child as working at the level in maths.
Our child’s confidence has improved as a result. The Kumon system works by doing a small amount everyday and gradually builds incrementally upon the maths skills they are secure in.
We need to support our child with the books but becomes part of routine about 20 - 30 minutes each day.
The twice a week lessons keep us on track and we can ask for help if we are getting stuck on anything at these.
The tutors are great and take the time to explain to us how they teach concepts so we give the same messaging at home.
The lessons and course continue over the holidays which has really helped our child to catch up.
We are so pleased we have now started the English tutoring in addition. This is supporting our child being secure in fundamentals of English.
