Excellent introductory course with a lot of ground covered in the two days. Nick is an excellent teacher such that I feel much more confident about using planes and chisels in particular as well as marking out, assessing wood and use of finishes. Highly recommended.

As a relative novice in the world of fine woodwork (some woodwork lessons at school in the early 70’s) this was a great experience. Nick is experienced, personable and able to walk you through the essentials of getting started as a woodworker. He has a really good pace and allows you to develop your skill in the basics - including how to sharpen tools, which is an absolutely vital part of working with wood. He is able to work at a range of levels simultaneously, so everyone in the group gets a good deal out of attending. You will leave the course with everything that you need to go forward. Highly recommended.

Fantastic 2-day introduction to hand tool woodworking course, I can not recommend it enough for someone starting to take an interest in woodwork. Nick is a great teacher, with heaps of knowledge and patience. I would of happily spent a week listening to his advice and past experiences. I'm excited to practice more the skills and techniques I learnt.

The course was excellent. Very informative and with a primarily practical, hands-on approach. Nick gave us all lots of useful tips on techniques ans tools and was able to follow each of us 6 students carefully. The stepwise approach allowed us to complete the dovetail and mortice and Tenon joints to a good standard without major complications. I really enjoyed the course and I hope to be able to join other courses run by Nick in the not too distant future. In the meantime I will practise, practise and practise some more. Definitely money well spent and I highly recommend this beginner's weekend course. Thanks again Nick.
