Had a traditional pub lunch here. Food was nice and hot and overall everything was good. We choose because it was within walking distance of our hotel and had a good sized menu with varied choices. Prices where about average for the area and no one had any complaints. Being Americans we liked how old and traditional the building and decor was. Nothing really stood out as exceptional, but I tend to be tough when it comes to raving about how good a place is. Definitely worth a try if it's not to far.

Great Sunday roast Thor hammer ( beef) shank Loads and loads of meat with all the trimmings Yorkshire roasties carrots 🥕 broccoli 🥦 and my favourite parsnips. We also got pigs in blankets. Emma, the waitress looked after us so well, friendly, funny, and attentive. If you've still got room, the deserts are great too. My only gripe was that the table was too small for 4 of us. Otherwise, 5 stars worth a visit

We had a fantastic afternoon tea here on Saturday afternoon. The service was great, atmosphere lively and the food was outstanding. I am gluten free and I was so impressed by the delicious fresh food and variety. I have eaten several afternoon teas at some of the local high end hotels and this was by far the best! We will definitely return and recommend to all.

Lovely pub with friendly and helpful staff, and cozy atmosphere. The fairy lights made it feel extra special. The food was reasonably priced especially the set menu for 2 courses at £18. We tried the gammon steak, chicken buttermilk burger and onion rings and can recommend. They also have a few vegan options as mains and 1 vegan dessert. Toilet was clean and tidy as well. Would definitely go there again. :)

Have just moved into the area and decded to go for Afternoon Tea for my hubby's Birthday. The food was awesome with lots of coffee and tea refills. Had to grab a takeaway box as couldn't eat it all. Excellent value for money and now booked in to try their food in the evening. If it's anything like what we have had already then it will be great
