Our dog Teddy likes to go there very much. The ladies are always nice and the dog feels it...so calm.

Excellent vets. My 15 year old dog having problems with her eyes, only option was to remove her eye, until I took her to this vets. They saved her eye with treatment , amazing care. Staff seem to love the animals, not the case at my old vets. Prices are much more reasonable too . I love the thank you cards posted everywhere, which goes to show how popular they are.

Saying goodbye to my beloved dog was heartbreaking, but the entire team made the process as peaceful as it could possibly be. From the moment we arrived, they treated us with respect, patience, and genuine care. They explained everything gently and gave us the time we needed to say our goodbyes. Believe it or not this big baby is probably the most fear reactive/fear aggressive dog I've ever come across. But I can't actually praise vet nurse Chloe enough for going above and beyond to help us make sure she is on top of her health checks and vaccines etc. Her compassion and knowledge and how she advocated for Storm and for us is just second to none and I'm forever grateful, overdale - never ever let her leave!!! Thank you so much!!

Amazing staff, so understanding a d supportive. Have been taking our dogs here for years and goes without saying that they are in great hands. Never too much trouble to help and empathetic. Would recommend to anyone and speak from the heart without hesitation highly about them compassion at both practices. We were staying at the nearby campsite when my dog, Zeus, needed urgent care over the bank holiday weekend. I was petrified because of the type of care that was needed and also worried about the bill over the bank holiday, but Douglas and everyone at the practice were just incredible and you can tell they love animals. I rave to everyone about how amazing the staff were and I only wish they were closer to us at home because I’d love to have them as our everyday vets. Zeus needed to go back over the 3 days we were away and I was so reassured throughout the whole process. Douglas even called on the Saturday night to make sure he was doing ok. Just so appreciative of how well Zeus was looked after and I can’t recommend enough x

Fantastic service, I can't recommend Bakewell vets enough. Sorry I can't remember the vets name that came out to my poorly goat but the service, treatment and understanding was the best ever. Thank you so much. My goat is not out of the woods yet but he's comfortable and appears to be doing well.

Unfortunately we had to make the difficult decision to send our old terrier over the rainbow bridge. The staff were incredibly kind and compassionate and gave us as much time as we needed both before and after she went. I know money shouldn't come into it but unfortunately it does, and the bill we received was so much more reasonable than what you would expect from some of the larger chain vets. We live over 40 mins away but will always be taking our dogs there as the service is worth the distance!

Time and again the vets have have performed miracles with our dogs. They are so kind and really care. Some of the miracles have been pretty major and they really understand what you are going through and look after you too. Thank you Bakewell vets you are all terrific.

Our Red Setter Chilli was taken ill on Christmas day whilst we were on holiday. We were seen by Douglas Ross. I was very grateful for the very caring service we received and would like to say she has recovered and is back to herself. I would gladly recommend these vets, and if we lived nearer, I would gladly be using them. A very big thank you for the care you gave our dog. Judith Thatcher

Always had good service here. They’ve always managed to fit me in short notice in emergencies and this approach gave us another 6 months with our dog till she sadly passed.

Excellent professional and tailored service. I have used Riverside for over 10 years and have stayed with them even after moving area as they are brilliant. I now have two dachshunds- one is always highly stressed about visits and I can’t speak highly enough of the care and support to manage this as well as the service we always receive. Very friendly, caring and supportive. I highly recommend.

On holiday and our dog got tummy issue so the vet fitted us in and sorted us out very quickly. Highly recommended.

Very sadly, due to the cost of a consultation rising to £45, I can longer afford to come here. This rise hits only the poorest pet owners, who will avoid going to the vet. Much better to keep it low for the sake of animals, and increase the cost of treatment and meds by say 15% to ensure you keep customers and increase the numbers of people bringing pets to you, *particularly* pensioners and people on low fixed incomes. Even though I have emergency money for vet bills, just bringing a few animals to be looked at a couple of times, will cost hundreds, even before the cost of medication. And I cannot imagine the owner of a sick guinea pig or rabbit rushing to see a vet at £45 as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are wonderful though.

Alders were a great support to us with our last dog Clint, from the time we found him dumped by the roadside, to his last two years when he suffered diabetes and blindness, but continued to enjoy life to the full. When we recently adopted Monty, the choice of Vet was a no brainer!

We were struggling getting our guinea pig in with a vets. Even though Alders aren't our registered practice, we were told we could come immediately to sit and wait as she was so poorly. Unfortunately, when we arrived she'd passed away. The staff were really kind and showed great compassion and understanding. Thank you.

My 1st visit with Astrid (her 2nd). All the staff were really friendly,welcoming and helpful. Already booked in for our next visit. I think I was more nervous than Astrid. She was super chilled out. Thanks to everyone involved.

My cat was referred in emergency, the staff were understanding and caring. She was taken in quickly and had bloods and blood transfusion, as well as xray, ultrasound and bone marrow taken for testing. Very thorough and quick. I'm not a vet but I'd say they saved her life, as I really didn't expect her to come home with severe anaemia, little to no red cells, low white cells and platelets. But because they reacted quickly and tended to her straight away, after a week of everything being done to her, bless her, she's finally home. Yes I sobbed on picking her up, any animal lover would. She will have regular appointments but she's here and that's all that matters. Thank you to all of you for your support and care for Talulla-Eden.

I do think that, as with all veterinary practices, medications are overcharged. Other than that I found the service at Pride faultless. Flora is an absolutely wonderful asset to the team. She was so lovely and caring towards both myself and Walter, and was clearly so very invested in helping him and giving him the best possible chance of a happy life. She talked through everything with me in great detail, patiently answering all my questions, both during our consultation and following. I found the practice clean and inviting, despite it being a worrying time and Walter was returned to me on both occasions with a wagging tail and enthusiastic disposition. He was clearly happy and not at all stressed which is testament to how well looked after he had been. We received a detailed account of the findings of Walters tests by email very quickly after our appointment as well as the plan for him moving forward. Walter is already responding well to the changes in his treatment. The fact that the accounts team make the payment so easy by claiming directly from the insurance company takes all the stress out of the situation and allows us to focus on getting Walter the help he needs without a great deal of financial worry. I do feel that our recent experience with Pride has been wonderful overall and would not hesitate to return when needed in the future. Thank you to Flora and all the team, veterinary nurses and admin included.

I was referred to Pride vets by my own vet as my dog required a neurology assessment . I’ve got to say the whole process was faultless . We got an appointment within an hour on a Saturday morning , a full neurological assessment was performed and a treatment plan set up . My dog was an inpatient for 6 days , during this time I went to see him but the vets called me at least daily to keep me up to date with what was happening , I was sent photos of him and when I called during the day the staff were always extremely helpful and went to see how he was for me . He appeared content to be around everyone and you could tell that he’d been given 24 hour care. Over the weekend the vets have called me for a progress report , given me advice and medication he required as his appetite is quite poor at the moment . Last week was a stressful time for us but they made me feel that we were giving him the best chance as I felt he was getting the right care and treatment . 10 out of 10 for me .
