Nice to see a good old fusion restaurant. The quality of the food is quite good but I must say that most of the dishes are quite spicy, even if you ask them to tone it down. I even tried the Beef Mongolian (good lamb dishes are hard to find these days) and it was not bad. Just goes to show what can be done with well cooked food and a large selection of spices. The drinks are ok, a bit on the expensive side but where aren't they these days. Decor is nice, fairly relaxed which makes for a pleasant dining experience, whether with friends or family. I suspect if I lived closer we would probably be ordering from here on a regular basis. Would definitely recommend and will probably go again.

Fresh good quality ingredients, decent portions and delightful service with attentive waiters! Also CLEAN. Easy going ambience. Our food was delayed due to an issue with the cooker and we were given complimentary prawn crackers, though we only knew the reason for this after we asked. Dishes were also cleared promptly from in front of us. My only wish is that I was given a spork to have my noodle soup, not just a soup spoon and a separate fork. Will definitely be returning and not telling anyone to keep this little gem hidden! 😉 P.s mum says there should be hot drinks on the menu and hooks in the bathroom cubicles. We were disappointed that tap water is not available, only large glass bottled water. Another Asian restaurant charging for a basic human right.

This has to be the best Chinese food iv had in Birmingham ! Everything was so tasty, I can’t fault one thing! Me and family loved not just the food but their excellent customer service which makes me want to go back again. The staff were so polite and went out their way to make our first experience a very good one!

Malabar: I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience visiting this restaurant. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with friendly and attentive staff who make us feel welcome every time we walk through the door. To start our meal, we ordered ten popadoms (10 I know, my friend has a popadom addiction) which arrived at our table quickly, accompanied by a selection of delicious chutneys. The popadoms were crispy and light, making for the perfect start to our dining experience. For the main course, we opted for two chicken curries: the Chicken Tikka Curry and the Chicken Tikka Masala. Both dishes were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, with tender chicken pieces that simply melted in our mouths. The Chicken Tikka Curry was rich and flavorful, with a subtle spice that left us craving more, while the Chicken Tikka Masala was creamy and indulgent, with a hint of sweetness that complemented the spice perfectly. We also ordered the Bengali Lamb Curry, a dish that was new to us, but one that we'll certainly be ordering again. The lamb was cooked until it was tender and juicy, and the curry was rich and aromatic, with a complex flavour profile that was both exotic and comforting. To accompany our curries, we ordered a serving of Tarka Dhal, a delicious lentil dish that was the perfect balance of flavours. The lentils were cooked until they were soft and creamy, and the spicing was spot on, with a hint of ginger and garlic that added depth and warmth to the dish. To round off our meal, we ordered chips and naan bread, both of which were perfectly cooked and delicious. The chips were crispy and golden, while the naan bread was fluffy and soft, with a hint of charring that added a subtle smoky flavour. Overall, our dining experience at Malabar was exceptional. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend Malabar to anyone looking for a dining experience that won't disappoint. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt like we were in good hands, and we'll certainly be returning to Malabar again and again.

Everyone enjoyed their meals, apologies, no main meal pictures. My icecream pictured was really good. Service was friendly and prompt. Allowed to bring your own drinks. Would go again.

Excellent food and there is nothing the staff won’t do for you! We won’t eat anywhere else in Aldridge! The Railway Lamb Madras was exceptional.

I travelled from the Lake District to the Midlands and visited the Wharf, the location just adds to the quality of food. I had mussels with cider and tarragon and it was perfection, topped off with a glass of Sauvignon which was also lovely. I'll definitely be making another journey, just to sample all the items off the menu!

Lovely staff and great food! At a very reasonable price, also our little one enjoyed the child's corner with the ipads. Would deffinatly recommend and we will be back!

I recently visited and had an amazing experience! Their smash burgers were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked with a crispy juicy flavour . The shakes were equally impressive, creamy and packed with flavor. The service was top-notch too; the staff was friendly especially saad , attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving a great burger and a fantastic milkshake!

1at and foremost, lovely owner with a lovely accent and smile 5*. Mutton Stew 5* Jerk dinner 5* Mutton dinner 4*- too salty for me but that's my personal taste as I do not eat salt. Oxtail dinner-4* gravy too watery for me but again that's my personal taste. Salt fish fritters 5* My son would give 5 * all the way through, like I said my own personal taste and she cannot please everyone. Would I come here again, hell YES. Decor in shop front needs brightening up, not very inviting. The kitchen area is spotless from what you can see, the metal work is gleaming. Lovely place with a lovely owner highly recommended. X

I was passing by and thought I'd give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with absolutely great customer service. I decided to go with the curry and rice, along with the jerk chicken and rice, both recommended by the lovely staff. I have to say, the food was incredibly tasty and fresh, and I was even treated to some extra goodies, including dumplings. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

I had curry goat meat and I really enjoyed it. It was really delicious and the meat was really soft. It melts in your mouth. And one thing I was very happy before I bought the food is the place is really clean

Absolutely fantastic Desi-pub... Haven't been here for years, so was very surprised by the amount of space it has. A good choice of curry type meals and grills at a reasonable price. Good choice of draught drinks at the bar. You queue up to order food, and again to order drinks... Seems to work well and the food came out quite quickly. The only gripe was the weird "dance" music being played too loud that made it difficult to have a conversation... Follow up visit... Not as good. Felt really rushed, they brought out poppadoms but no plates, then brought out plates and the mains within moments. Would not recommend the salad, it was tiny, mostly lettuce. However, the background music was better and not as loud (shame about the group of "grown men" behind us who were shouting and messing about ...)

The food is absolutely immaculate. It always come out in great timing, a little more on the spicy side. What’s more is that the portion sizes are very generous. There is nothing to fault about this grill other than the noise dampening, or the lack of it. I feel due to the nature of the rooms the noise echoes around. Sound deadening clouds would be a great addition but apart from that, be SURE to eat here. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity. :)

It’s lively, busy, and has the perfect grill atmosphere as you’d hope for. The menu is good for a grill, but the choices were all very similar, and somehow, despite the large menu, lacked a little variety. The small plates can be eaten as mains though, with great portion sizes! I shared a mixed grill, with the chicken tikka and fish pakora being the standout. The chutney tray was also immense, very tasty sauces! I had a roti which was just okay, being far too similar to the naan, and a tarka dal, again, nice, but nothing special and not really close to that you’d get from a curry house. The staff were friendly enough and all in all it’s a grill I would recommend.

An wonderful experience of ha restaurant in a Beautiful church with elegant design and plenty of seating space. Our order was taken promptly and our food was provided in good time. The curry dishes were delicious as the Parmesan and fish. Overall wonderful experience

A beautiful venue with fantastic service. They now offer breakfast and brunch in store. We tried the Emperors Breakfast which was a huge platter that came with eggs, sausages, turkey rashers and many more items. They also have delicious french toast and lattes on their menu..highly recommended!

I gave 3 out of 5 stars for food because of lack of vegetarian choices. I'm vegetarian but my family enjoyed their Iftari buffet very much. Our table server Omar Khan, the tall one with curly hair took extra care of us with a welcoming smile. Nothing was too much for him. The other staff too were friendly. I recommend coming here for Iftari or just a meal out. Thank you.

First time visiting, Really enjoyed the breakfast here. We got two halwa puri and channa taalis and one Mediterranean breakfast with desi teas . Everything was very tasty. Excellent customer service by Kashmila she was very helpful and recommended that we order 2 halwa puri and channa talis instead of 3 as that would be more that enough. Thank you for the recommendation because she was right two were more the enough as even that wasn’t fully finished. We ate to our hearts content. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, thank you. Absolutely brilliant place. The atmosphere is calm and collected and the service was impeccable! My autistic 4 year old toddler came with us, and he was happily stimming vocally, banging the table etc and not one rude look was given, nor did anyone mumble under their breath! Wonderful place, I'll be returning again, VERY soon!

From the moment we walked into the restaurant Matt and his team made us feel so welcome. The food is fantastic and the portion sizes are extremely generous. Popped in after a long morning shopping at merry hill after seeing the lockside on facebook and what an amazing place. We had the most welcoming greeting from Matt who showed us straight to a table, dressed in shorts and a vest it's not the attire I was expecting but this was totally overshadowed and totally forgotten about due to his larger than life personality...Now on to the food I can honestly say that today at the lockside I had the Best rump steak I have ever eaten, even though the chef was probably cursing me for killing the meat I have it well done 🤣 it was amazing. There was not a morsel left on either of our plates. Absolutely fantastic if I could give more than 5🌟 I would. Only disappointment was I didn't have room left to try the cheesecake. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in the area. Our waiter was great even added to our order as it was being prepaired sorry I didn't catch his name but please pass on our thanks.

One of the best eating out experiences we’ve had for a while! The service was top quality very attentive without being over bearing All very friendly from the moment we walked in! The atmosphere was great everyone happy and the theme inside and decor really tastefully done The food was absolutely spot on. My husband said it was the best steak he’s ever eaten! The burgers too were perfect and all the sides and deserts! Will recommend and will 100% return!

Good starter pub.. no music or entertainment so great for meeting up and talking.. rammed at the weekends. Can be hard to get a table so go early. Drinks are very cheap £2.69 for lager, £3.82 double AU vodka and mixer. Quick table service from the app.. bar tends to be very busy. Loads of outdoor space. Toilets up 2 flights of stairs. We like it.

Myself and my wife and son called in for a meal and a drink around 4.30pm before heading back home to Oldbury. The old cinema had been kept with plenty of character and the food was good, but the only downside was that the main doors into the seating/dining area were pegged open and as it was so cold outside a very cold draught was blown through and it soon cools down your meal and body temperature!;!😔

Cracking pub that tries its hardest to look after everyone that walks through the door. Who says Spoons are not the pub to be seen in? This pub is head and shoulders above some of the 'better class' pubs in the area!

I am vey happy with the food by regards. I had the chilli paneer, chicken biriyani, naan and bindi Bhaaji. The food was amazing. Each of the cuisine had a unique flavour and the temperature of the food was perfect. The portions of the food were very generous and i devoured each bite. I have been extremely satisfied with my dinner today cooked by regards.

We don’t eat Indian food all that often but when we do it’s always at regards. Located right in the middle of Aldridge regards is perfectly located, plenty of car parking outside. The staff are always excellent, extremely friendly and professional, nothing is to much trouble. The food 🥘 is outstanding, traditional Indian food cooked to perfection. Try the new secret golden triangle which is a trio of specialty curries, the lamb one is mouth-wateringly good.

Updating review to says I've been back twice recently and just polished off a takeaway delivery from Regards, honestly the nicest curry I've had in years! August 2024 Just left here after a birthday meal for my wife. Food was absolutely gorgeous, the hosts were very friendly, polite and welcoming. 100% going back again, A*

Absolutely on a different level when it comes to Indian food! It’s not only the best Indian restaurant in Aldridge it’s the best Indian restaurant in the UK in my opinion. Request the minty lamb curry of the trio of curries, it’s simply the tastiest, delicious curry we’ve ever tasted. The barra chops are delicious as a starter and so is paneer, the breads are always cooked perfectly, both the naan and paratha. Everyone has their preferences when it comes to restaurants, but on top of the food the welcome you get from Syed just puts this place on a different level. Cobra on draught is also a bonus, the New Zealand white wine is also excellent.
