Fantastic place. Looking forward to trying out more of the menu. As they make most of the menu from fresh and season it all extremely well. The food always tastes amazing. Excellent ingredients, excellent people that run the place. 10000% worth a visit if you're vegan, even if it is a little out of your way. Parking right outside.

The best vegan food around. The staff are so friendly and it’s always a pleasure to visit. I recommend trying one of the specials, they never disappoint.

Love the oyster mushroom wings and had some amazing vegan cakes here. They sell various vegan sweets too at the counter, like Vego chocolate which is easily the best vegan chocolate and one of the best hazelnutty chocolates in general, like a giant bar of gianduja with whole hazelnuts.

Really delicious and well thought out menu. Owner/chef friendly and really helpful with questions. Best coffee I've had in the UK so far. Very cute decor. Great place for a quick bite to eat or a date night in the evening. (Pictured is kids meal) ours we so good we ate it too fast to take a photo.

The service was amazing. The resurant was Clean, organised, and lovely Egyptian decoration as well. Fabulous experience well do it again, especially the decoration and the atmosphere I felt like I am in Egypt😍😍

Such a great new place in Kings Heath!! We love Middle Eastern, Lebanese, Persian style food and this place really hit the mark. Welcoming restaurant, service spot on and food amazing. Freshly cooked, clean tasting and flavoursome, all the meat dishes cooked perfectly, lamb falling off the bone, chicken super tender. Subtle flavours, plenty of it and really obviously cooked with care and attention. Very reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back - we all picked different things and tried each others, now we need to return to pick 5 different things!!! Really worth a visit!

Excellent restaurant with brilliant service. The food and drinks were delicious and the portion sizes were very generous so great for sharing. Located in a good location with parking options available around. Plenty of comfortable seating within inside. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to try Egyptian food. Had nice Soya Pathia curry with a chilli Coriander Naan takeaway. Very tasty. Unfortunately the Chips where fries which personally not so keen on. They where Very kind and gave me 3 free Onion Bhaji's plus a free coffee ☕️ 😋 Attractive and clean interior with some interesting old pictures of local areas. Friendly staff. I'm hoping to have meal inside sometime during Christmas. Street parking available.

Love this place. Been several times since opening and the staff are always very friendly and helpful and now welcome us like long lost friends! Love the orange and black decor too. Food is great and a good range and they will always do their very best to accommodate particualr preferences which may vary from the menu - such as making it milder or hotter.

Had a party of 27 people last Sunday! The hospitality was awesome. The food hit our taste buds on a different level. I highly recommend this place for any occasion. Kam was great and the staff are very friendly. This kind of service you wont get these days! Thank you guys!

This is such a cute homely little cafe! The atmosphere was super relaxed and the food was great - really really recommend the dumplings.

I’ve wanted to go ever since it opened, sorry I waited so long! They talked us through the menu explaining what was in each dish and recommended how much to order. Cosy place with the kitchen within sight, easy to get the attention of the cook! Food was delicious. I’ll have to go again as soon as I can!

Lovely intimate restaurant with great food cooked to order by a friendly chef. The food & drink menus are limited (this is not a criticism) but all our choices were tasty & worked well together. We’ll be back!

I love this place! It's taken me a year to finally get there and I was not disappointed at all. I got the 'beancurd sheet, celery and black fungus' and also 'homemade miso & butter noodles with Shiitake mushroom'. This could've been shared with another person and been a perfect amount of food for two. The noodles were divine, the atmosphere was very cosy and felt like it had been a part of the furniture of KH for years, it just makes sense in the neighborhood. I felt at ease to talk to the staff. If you haven't been, definitely go! The menu is seasonal so check their Instagram to know what is on the menu

First time I have been to this lovely restaurant. I absolutely highly recommend it! The food was so delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating to my dietary needs and how I like my food prepared. The young man at the desk had a friendly and helpful nature and I met the chef, who also was friendly with a smile!

The food here is amazing! I've been coming here for a while and I feel like it's an undiscovered gem of kings heath. One of the best meals I've eaten in Birmingham and I would highly recommend it to everyone. Usually l am a firm meat eater however I don't miss the meat here at all as the flavors and options are astounding.

Amazing food, so lovely to have so many choices. The food was cooked fresh to order and the curries each had their distinctive flavours as described on the menu. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

We had Saturday afternoon lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. We had dal makhani, mattar paneer and lasani paneer. Would recommend this place.

Tucked away unassumingly on Stirchley high street is one of, if not the, most talked about restaurants in Brum currently. From being mentioned in the Michelin Guide of Best Restaurants in Birmingham, to a buzz across social media; there’s a deserved hype. I have such a great time visiting here that I can’t wait to book my next visit. True that it’s easier to herd cats than to book a table here, but it’s worth being patient. Tables are released on a rolling three month basis each day, at midnight. With a cosy kitchen vibe, you sit at the counter and watch each dish unfold as it’s carefully crafted and presented in front of you, while the chef, Ash, talks you through how and why it’s on the menu. This close up and personal insight combined with watching the other guests enjoy their dishes is hard to match. You can easily get talking to the people either side of you, with them often remarking how they can’t wait to book their next visit. The menu pretty much changes daily so I won’t describe what I had, I’ll let my photos do that; but I can confidently say I struggled to make my choices because it all sounded so good.

Booked this 4 months in advance such is the popularity of this restaurant. It is a little tricky to find as the blinds stay down so it looks like its closed. Upon entering you can see that you are all sat together around the kitchen. The seats which are high bar stools are very uncomfortable and I had to stand up for periods of time. The restaurant was also very hot. The food is nice but not amazing. The menu changes quite often I was told by one of the ladies. You can order as much as you like or as little as you like. I choose to order as much as possible so that I could try various options as re-booking would be very long. There are two ladies one cooks live and the other provides the hospitality in terms of drinks and seating guests. The lady that cooks provides a full story on how she has cooked each dish when bringing it over. There was one particular dish the grilled skate wing (the picture with majority of it green) this is a type of fish I was told, it comes with the bone and the cook tells you how to remove the bone. I did as instructed and still had issues with bones so had to ask the chef to de-bone it herself. She was very helpful and served it back to me with no bones at all (another picture attached). I went with my wife who is vegetarian and a full menu option was provided to her. Homemade fudge is also given when receiving the bill, we were very full and it was packed in a little packet. The fudge was very nice Overall the service is very good and the food is different and nice. There is roadside parking which is free after certain hours or various side streets.

Amazing food and such lovely service. Absolutely worth a visit! We did the roulette and it was worth the whole cost and more so will defo be returning before long.

Absolutely exceptional food and service by Ash and Erin. Impossible to pick a favourite dish as everything was exceptional but some of our favourites were the BBQ leeks with Hollandaise, crab hash brown, rarebit crumpet and the raw beef tartare. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Beautiful restaurant in an old bank with luxurious feel. Great attention to detail and service from the whole team from the moment you step in the door. Amazing cocktails that are reasonable price for the creativity and quality. Great dishes with lots of flavour, colour and textures. Hope to be back for the tasting menu!

I couldn’t recommend Chakana highly enough; it’s possibly the best restaurant in Moseley! The staff are incredibly friendly, the food is absolutely divine, and the presentation is always so captivating. If you’re looking for the best ceviche in town, this is the place to go. But it doesn’t stop there. Every dish on the menu is thoughtfully designed, expertly prepared, and from the very first bite, you can tell the food is exceptional. We came here on our first date two years ago, and we’ve kept coming back ever since. Whether it’s for a special birthday celebration or a casual meal, Chakana never fails to impress. This place has truly become our happy place; from the moment you’re greeted to the moment you leave, you know you’ll be well looked after, both in terms of the service and the food.

The tasting menu was spectacular, accompanied by a pisco flight and a bottle of Peruvian white wine. Each course was a delight, so many of them new flavours to us. Any "foodie" should visit this restaurant and we'll definitely return.

Excellent restaurant! Has won handful of awards and the chef is michelin starred, which increased our expectations.Amazingly met, the beef and chicken was tender, sea bream ceviche was so fresh, and the crab starter was so creamy! The quality of the ingredients were phenomenal, portions are generous too!! Even the starter ceviche I had a lot of the fish 😹 Erica is excellent in her service, we had a brief chat and she originally hails from Mexico. She was very knowledgeable about the dishes & was so friendly! Thank you!

Honestly 5 stars isn’t enough for this place! We’re moving home to Australia in August and Grace and James, Flock and York road in general are going to one of the things we miss the most! Lewis, Wilf, Henry and Alasdair are top notch and know what they’re talking about and make you feel welcome from the second you walk in. Their hospitality, knowledge and passion for what they do is impeccable. They’re a local independent that is passionate about their community and with a small team, always delivers. Especially when the sun comes out. Great selection of wines, the yummiest cheeses and the best coffee in Brum!! And nothing beats York road in the sunshine! ☀️

We first experienced Grace and James at Queens Heath event. The Inside had a few tables but was very light and bright. There's a large cheese and wine selection. Plus a fridge of ales to choose from. They also sell their bottles of wine to take home. We will certainly be back for more wine and cheese!

Grace and James hosted a group of us for a Hen Do Cheese & Wine Tasting and the whole day was brilliant. They made such an effort to tailor the day to our needs and offered a beautiful space for us to decorate! It was an all round a perfect day - thank you so much!

Bring time and enjoy the atmosphere. Unusual wines normally from biological growers and great cheese and meats. Coffee also great and a dog-friendly and relaxed place to hang out.

Friendly service and felt safe with Covid spacing measures. Food was excellent... I am still not over just how good the chicken livers in sherry & cream were! Order a couple of flatbreads and dips then maybe five tapas between two and you’ll have room for dessert! Such tasty food, will need to go back to try more of the menu!

Food was as excellent as ever, good size tapas portions, great choice and flavours, reasonably priced. Service was friendly but slow on this occasion - have had much better service here in the past. But it would not stop me going back to this lovely little independent restaurant.

One of the better Damascena locations, a friendly and clean environment and the food was hot and tasty. Service was poor as they were short staffed and one server for all the tables. The food delivery was slower than expected. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Vegan options available.

Great food, always love the ambience and staff is ever so friendly and welcoming. Niamh served us and there were few of us, she stunned all of us as she remembered every single one of our orders, very impressive which proves Damascena staff takes pleasure in providing ace customer service. Lovely place for family and friends gathering.

Really nice food and restaurant, very decently priced. Lovely spiced chai latte, although it was a shame we couldn’t drink until after our meal as they were very hot! Would make it a 5 star if the service improves.
