The ambiance is nice. Servers are super nice and patient. We had a good brunch here. Food is okay. The thing we loved the most was the falafels with humus. They were freshly fried and very tasty.

Very tasty food and big portions, spacious restaurant and good service, the menu is very interesting and fun to explore. Recommend, especially the hummus and shawarma.

One of the better Damascena locations, a friendly and clean environment and the food was hot and tasty. Service was poor as they were short staffed and one server for all the tables. The food delivery was slower than expected. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Vegan options available.

Great food, always love the ambience and staff is ever so friendly and welcoming. Niamh served us and there were few of us, she stunned all of us as she remembered every single one of our orders, very impressive which proves Damascena staff takes pleasure in providing ace customer service. Lovely place for family and friends gathering.

I had a fantastic dining experience with delicious food, outstanding service, and top-quality ingredients. Finally, a high-quality chippy that truly values its customers, product, and service! I believe this location is run by the same owners as the Erdington branch—thankfully, it’s nothing like the Sparkhill branch, which is a disappointment to the brand. Despite being extremely busy over the weekend, the food was exceptional and perfectly prepared, especially the Fiery Fish. This is a top-tier chip shop operating at its best—definitely worth a visit. Keep up the great work, and I’ll be back again and again!

⭐️The Best New Chippy in Town! ⭐️ I had the pleasure of visiting Mother Hubbards Kings Heath recently, and I can confidently say it’s the best new addition to the local food scene! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly service, a spotless shop, and the mouthwatering aroma of freshly fried fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. The chips were golden, thick-cut, and just the right amount of fluffy. They also offer a great selection of sides, including mushy peas, curry sauce, and homemade tartar sauce that was absolutely delicious! What really stood out was the quality of ingredients and attention to detail. Everything tasted fresh, and you could tell they take pride in what they serve. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality you’re getting. If you’re looking for a top-tier chippy, Mother Hubbards is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommend!

The food, customer service, cleanliness everything was above expectations! The food was fresh and delicious, the staff were polite and friendly, the restaurant is spotless, overall a great experience. Definitely worth a try, my new go to fish and chip shop.

Enjoyed a post Christmas brunch with a friend and enjoyed a leisurely morning. It was quite busy but we were able to be seated without a booking. Excellent selection of cakes and coffees and a nice brunch selection. I enjoyed the Turkish eggs and hash browns and my friend had the seasonal special of Pulled pork Benedict. Nice service with friendly staff.

This is the place to dine for great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Food wise I have never been disappointed. Every month the menu changes taking into account what foods are in season. Whatever dish you choose each mouthful is an orchestra of flavours and textures. You won't be disappointed 😋😋

First visit but not last, mid morning on a Saturday in Dec. We didn’t book and it was very busy so couldn’t wait. Had take out instead. Cakes look and taste amazing. Would revisit when next local. Car parking a bit tricky. Plan ahead if you want to be sure of a seat. There is a lot is seating but obvs very popular!!!

This place was very busy and bustling which gave it a nice vibe inside! The service was also very good, with friendly and helpful staff being attentive and the food and drinks came out quickly - everything was spot on. The place does have a strange layout though, with tables cramped together making you feel a little squeezed despite massive empty floor space, a little odd. The hash browns were absolutely gorgeous, crispy and delicious, even if the dip they came with didn’t quite live up to this. The tumeric and ginger latte special was also divine! So creamy and so delicious, being perfectly spicy, what a drink! They made a pretty good flat white too, and the apple danish we had was beautiful. Unfortunately the teriyaki burger didn’t live up the expectations, being overly sweet with the sauce and brioche, falling apart sloppily with far too much juice and not what we had hoped. All in all, this is place is a good place for some grub. The drinks and pastries are great, but the food seemed to be more focused on hitting trendy flavours rather than being solid or refined dishes. We still enjoyed the meal and maybe we need to go back to try some other things as the menu sounded great!

Had a lovely Christmas meal here this afternoon with the girlfriends family. The staff were SO friendly & efficient. Christmas spirit was high (and I'm sure the staff just wanted to get home to their families too,) but we were served with a smile. Thank you it's a 5☆ from me

First visit here in literally years, I remember it as a noisy pub with live music but now it's more of a family friendly establishment serving better than average pub grub. I had my dog with me and she was made to feel welcome, a water bowl was provided for her. We ordered burgers and soup. The burgers were a good quality but we found the skin on fries to be a bit cold. The soup was ok, nothing special and a bit expensive for the portion size. This was still a good experience and if I'm ever this way again I know where to go.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the gardens today.. looks like they are being tended to with care. Thanks for the great food and drink today. Loved the Irish whiskey!

I took my little one for a meal here as she fancied a "pub meal". We are newly local so we thought we would try out the Red Lion and see what's happening. The pub is very nice inside, with great staff and the revellers were friendly too. Very good atmosphere as other families were seated having their meals. Very family and children friendly. My little one hand a burger and chips meal and I opted for the mixed grill. We both simultaneously said to each other how nice the chips were. (Best I've had in a pub!!!!) The mixed grill was unreal, thoroughly enjoyed it. Little one loved her food. Would recommend this place any day of the week!!!

A really nice experience - quiet and hidden away venue with good food and friendly staff. I would like to visit again to try more of their food as their menu changes frequently. I wasn’t drinking, and I’m sure the experience would be very different for someone who could take full advantage of the extensive wine selection and pairings

This is a somewhat hidden Japanese ramen shop that took me quite a while to find on my first visit. It turns out to be a shop within a shop, hidden inside another restaurant. The decor is simple and there are limited seats, so it’s best to make a reservation in advance. Currently, it seems to be open only from Wednesday to Saturday each week, so be sure to check the hours before heading there. The chicken wings are incredibly delicious! They’re slightly spicy, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside—definitely a must-try! The Wagyu beef skewer is also good, but each order only comes with one skewer, so you might want to order more. The main dishes are limited to ramen: tonkotsu ramen, spicy tonkotsu ramen, and vegetarian ramen. You can add an egg (soft-boiled egg), extra noodles, or extra meat for an additional cost. The ramen already comes with a whole soft-boiled egg, which is very tasty. The broth is rich, the noodles are chewy, and the meat includes two thick slices that are fatty but not greasy. I personally prefer the spicy tonkotsu ramen, which has just the right amount of spiciness without being overwhelming and is extremely flavorful.

Lovely upstairs brunch and lunch spot, overlooking York Road. Simple classic decor, warm and friendly service and absolutely gorgeous food. Probably one of the best brunch places in town right now. Looking forward to trying the Sunday roast dinners!

The food was stunning. Coffee was stubbing. The atmosphere was so cosy and a genuine vibe. The staff were lovely which is the cherry on top. First time at the loco lounge, will definitely be returning! Keep up the amazing work guys, you’re unreal.

Went here with my Mom and Cousin for Brunch on my Birthday and I loved it! Food was great and there's multiple Vegitarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options too! The atmosphere was nice (Plus you can bring dogs! 😄) and the service was good too! Got a free birthday mock tail which was really nice of the staff to give me! Wish it was a bit closer to home though so I could go more often 😭😂 Would definitely come back again! 😄

I had my 40th Birthday party here last weekend and it was the most amazing experience. I can’t recommend this wonderful venue and their team enough. The whole process was so easy and smooth, everybody was so nice, helpful and accommodating, the food was lovely and the venue was just perfect. Thank you to Lana for helping me plan the perfect night, from our first meeting over brunch, through to all the help during the party, and to the whole team for the great service on the night too. So many of my guests said how amazing the place was. Honestly, if you’re looking for somewhere to host an event, definitely give them a visit. You won’t be disappointed. x
