Warm welcome, with a smile. The food we chose was prepared as we liked it and well presented. The only down side was that the waiter attending our table didn't return during the meal to ask if everything was okay. Our dirty plates were left on the table until after the waiter tried to serve our dessert. The place wasn't busy, so no excuse for lack of attention by staff.

My parents go to this place when they visit on the weekends and I went for the first time today. Full 5🌟 from all of us, they've been numerous times and always been happy with the portions, the quality and the service. The young lady who was serving us remembered the drinks and meals even down to the dips they ordered separately which is impressive! The meals we ordered were incredible, a large mixed grill which could feed a small family but was smashed off slowly but surely. The surf and turf was delicious, fresh and full of flavour. I opted for a vegan stack burger with extra fried onions and cheese, all stayed together and tasted really good! Really good selection of ales and ciders, all served by one lady with a big smile; highly recommend! Well done to all, brilliant establishment! Also the doggy dinner for £2.50 is a great idea and means we can all enjoy a meal out together!

Lovely service, friendly atmosphere, and good prices. The buns on the burgers were the only let down. They seemed a little too plain. Though for me, better than brioche, that I dislike. The men’s toilet was functional but tired, and need cleaning, repairing, and updating. The dining room would benefit from a makeover. Very good vegan and vegetarian selection for a local pub which I was pleased to see. We will go back.

Family dinner on 15th December. Ran out of pigs in blanket. Served scrag ends of turkey ? It's 10 days before Xmas day?? Meat was cold. Staff friendly and polite. Strange order system for drinks , deserts etc ( can't order at bar or add to table number ) have to go to front desk to pay?? Have had better, cheaper meals within a 20 mile radius. Price is not main driver, we don't mind paying. There weren't many people in for lunch. Cannot believe what it would be like if they were busy. Had heard good reviews, maybe they were having a bad day???

Our 5th stay here at Woodthorpe and must say the food everytime we eat here at Woodys has been fantastic. Great service with a cosy welcoming local atmosphere.. be sure to catch the Quiz and Bingo nights given the opportunity. Be sure to catch a 6th visit...

A hidden little gem. Met up with a friend for lunch as its sort of half way for both of us to drive and meet . I had a combo platter, the other half had a burger and our friend had salmon salad. We were very impressed with the food, the way it was cooked, how much food was on the plates. Its definitely going to be our meet up spot from now on. The lady serving was friendly and polite, the pub clean and cosy and lots of outside space. It was quiet when we went on a Monday but I would imagine it gets quite busy on holidays and weekends.

Lovely service, drink prices are amazing, didn’t stay in the hotel but I can only imagine it being worth the price would recommend if looking for a cozy pub

Had a Christmas party here, food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Came here for a meal tonight with parents for their birthdays and couldn't say enough about how lovely everything was. Every staff member we spoke to was happy to help and the food was brilliant too. Decently priced and were even kind enough to go out of their way to give my parents a little birthday dessert too. Thank you! :)

Beautiful old Courthouse with a good bar and clean gent’s toilet. Service friendly and cheerful.

A fab venue for hire. Lorenzo is a perfect host. I highly recommend it.

Called today , away for the weekend locally. Really polite staff, we sat inside for our food. Beautifully cooked and great portions. Great price, husband had mini fish and chips as there large fish is huge. Would definitely recommend.

Good food well cooked but wasn't happy to be charged an extra £5 for sitting in the restaurant part of the chip shop. I've never heard of this before. Normally customers would just be charge more for thier food but they charged more for the food and added the extra £5. So won't be using there restraint again.

First visit to this friendly very well run pub set at Short Ferry lovely countryside setting. Fantastic carvery Sunday dinner lots of choice and desserts to follow . Very welcoming atmosphere well done to you all. We will return for fish and chips Fridays and entertainment nights too

Well, who would have thought? What a gem of a find. If you are looking for a great welcome, then this is the place. People travel from all over and not yet have we been disappointed in meeting new people. Usually go on a Thursday night, when you can by a main meal & pudding for £8.00 as long as you order together. More often than not I am stuffed. Even on it's own the 1st course is £6.00. Best check the website or Facebook page to see the menu and worth being early not to disappoint! Tonight I had a fabulous stew and my husband added the side order of chips to his breaded camembert & was more than satisfied. I didn't take a picture of the breaded camembert. We are yet to be disappointed with the quantity & quality of food. Friday night is chippy night, and again, not to be disappointed. Small fish & chips is perfect & served on a plate but with chippy paper.

We have only given 4 stars for atmosphere would have done 5 but as there was only us in due to the flooding of the road to Bardney. A shame other people from Fiskerton, Cherry Willingham and Reepham do not use this place to eat at lunch time as the food was excellent. Service with a smile and very curtious. The fish and chips that was supposed to be small was certainly bigger than I expected.

Really friendly, and with lovely staff... I had a pretty damn good steak pie, chips & beans. The interior could be cosier, but hey it has that authentic 'transport cafe' feel, and it's 100% genuine. Next time, I'll try a full breakfast..👍🏻

Good little truck stop just off the m180 Can get busy so got a good reputation. £25 for night with food

Hubby and I stopped here this morning (Sunday) whilst out on motorbikes. The car park is plenty big enough for larger vehicles too and car/caravans wouldn’t have a problem pulling in either. We ordered an all day breakfast with black pudding, blueberry pancakes, two teas and two bottles of still water. The breakfast came out in good time and was hot and fresh! Delicious! The pancakes came out hot with plenty of blueberries and a good drizzle of syrup - perfect! The pot didn’t quite deliver two full mugs of tea but hot water top ups and extra milk were actively offered so we each had plenty :) The bill was £17.33 which we thought was very good value. They also have fantastic looking homemade Cornish pasties and a range of good looking cakes too! They also sell chocolate bars and cold drinks. It was busy whilst we were here but the staff are all very good, friendly and chatty but organised and efficient too! The kitchen looked clean and well organised which explains the fast turnaround of fresh hot food! Very happy with our visit today and have saved Barney’s Diner in Google favourites for next time we’re passing :)

Called in for a break and grab some food. Que was out the door which means it must be good. After 10 minutes waiting and debating wether to go back to the truck and head out I was asked by a lady who works in there if I was on a break or staying for the day in truck. Told her I was on a break and she proceeded to ask what I wanted ordered then went to order it for me. Large breakfast was ready by the time I got to the counter. Absolutely fantastic food and absolutely fantastic atmosphere from both staff and the customers. Definitely be back again and most definitely be advising other drivers to use the place. Only 2 minutes off the M180 and plenty parking for trucks, vans and cars. Definitely one of life's hidden treasures when you're after a break and some good fresh home cooked food.

I was staying around here on business and looking for a decent chippy for my tea. I ordered fish, chips, peas and curry sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection, nice and crispy batter with the fish cooked just right. Chips very tasty not too greasy. Spot on. Apparently it's only just opened here.

Popped here for the very first time since the new owners took over. Don't normally like pizzas but opted for 2 different types with the hubby. What can I say.....piping hot and absolutely delicious 😋 Will be coming here again this next week, holding onto my 5 star re-review til then but really looking forward to coming back 😀
