Lovely little cafe with a warm welcome. I rang ahead on our way to the coast to order a takeaway and they were more than happy to oblige. Varied and interesting menu, I opted for the rarebit toast which had apple along with vegan cheese on the toast, accompanied by a delicious chutney. Good value and decent portion. I also took one of the scrummy looking cakes with me too, moist and tasty. Look forward to returning one day for the Ploughmans lunch. Friendly owner/staff. Free on street parking (time limited). Dogs allowed at the front of the cafe.

Popped in today while visiting the area. Booked a table as we have 3 small dogs so wanted to make sure we could get a table suitable. So glad we did as they were completely full.. 11.30 on a Wednesday!! Absolutely amazing meals, coffee and cakes.. I still can't believe the cakes were vegan, they were amazing. Will definitely be back as often as we can 💚

NOTE: This is a vegan/vegetarian cafe, so meat eaters beware! Only my second time here for lunch, but the food is really absolutely delicious and very healthy. They change the main menu often but the soul food salad etc is always available. Apart from being a MUCH needed and very welcomed 'breath of fresh air' cafe in our little town... The reason I only have 4 stars is because their Moccca isn't great, (tried it 3 times now), the atmosphere is nice and light and fresh, but the menus are on the walls where people are eating, so everyone who comes in will stand and look over your table. Not a big problem but it gets uncomfortable sometimes if there are short sighted people trying to zoom in! 🤓 Be prepared to wait for your order, but when they bring it, it is nice, fresh, and well made. Bear in mind it is only a small place, so no good turning up with the whole family expecting to be seated straight away! They have not long been opened, so I let's see if any of the small problems I mentioned get rectified, that will earn them a 5 star from ('over-fussy'?) me! UPDATE :- I have now been going in quite a few times since they opened and it has improved a lot (including the Mocca! - which is now the best in the area 😁😁😁) do, well done to everyone who works there x

Lovely short winter stay. Our room was modern, comfortable, private and secure and we were made to feel very welcome. Great bathroom and shower with plenty of luxury towels. Beautiful bed. Excellent and generous breakfast and service. Free parking. Location great for exploring friendly Alford town and the Wolds. Thank you Paul and Nicky! We are happy to recommend and plan to rebook.

Myself mum and dad came up here for a funeral and stayed at this B&B. What can I say. First class. We was met by the owner who was very friendly showed us our rooms and informed us of all the necessary information required for our stay. Rooms were very comfortable clean with a very modern contemporary twist. Beds where so comfortable and we had a good nights sleep with lovely fluffy pillows. Linen and towels were of a very good quality.. tea coffee making facilities were plentiful and galaxy hot chocolate biscuits and fresh water bottles were there also. Breakfast was amazing cooked to perfection with fresh fruit salad yogurt toast with all the condiments along with fresh ground coffee tea and fresh orange juice. All presented on beautiful crockery which made for an absolute pleasurable experience. We highly recommend this place. For us especially coming up from London for an overnight stay.

Me and my partner would highly recommend The anchor House .the host were very welcoming and polite and couldn't do enough for you The rooms were beautiful and modern and they smelt really fresh and clean and they were spotless. Breakfast facilities were very nice and the full breakfast what so tasty So if you need a place to say I would book here !!!

Paul and Nicky went above and beyond in service and kindness during our stay. No ask was too much and they made sure we were well looked after. The breakfast is yummy and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We’d highly recommend!

We recently had the pleasure of fish and chips at the Jolly Friar in Alford, and what a trip down memory lane it was! The fish and chips were so crisp, you could hear the crunch over the wireless. The fish was flakier than the ration book promises, and the chips—well, they were the perfect shade of golden brown, just like a freshly pressed ARP warden's uniform. Now, let's talk about the spam fritters. It's not every day you come across a delicacy that reminds you of both the best and worst of the Blitz. These little beauties took me right back to the days when spam was king, and tinned peaches were a luxury! The fritters were fried to perfection, with just the right amount of grease to make you feel like you're doing your bit for the war effort. Just be sure to bring a healthy appetite and a sense of humour, because after a plate of their fish and chips, you'll be more stuffed than an evacuee's suitcase.

Always friendly, chips are great! One of the few places round here that doesn't follow the backward practice of frying in beef dripping - as a vegetarian, this is very much appreciated!!

We spent a lovely afternoon at Woodthorpe Garden Centre. Massive choice of unusual Xmas gifts and decorations. There is a big sleigh where you can take photos as well as other areas ideal for special pictures. Pavers shoes, clothing and pet departments as well as the usual garden centre made up most of the rest of the store. We had a lovely lunch in the restaurant. We'll definitely be going back regularly.

Beautiful big garden centre. Maze and kids play area. Dog friendly. Cafe. Clean inside. Plenty of plants to choose from. We loved the little walk over the pond and the giant animal statues. Would 100% return if in the area again

Lovely garden centre, friendly staff in all departments. Food very good. However didn't like listening the way the manager spoke to person looking after Carvery section, she spoke too loud and talked down to him.

For a really nice lunch, tea and cake, visit Willows Tea room in Alford, the staff are very friendly and the service is brilliant. The sandwiches are very fresh and tasty too, the prices are extremely reasonable and I recommend you give it a try. Dogs are also welcome.

Came across the Willow Restaurant and Tea Room by chance. We were desperate for a cuppa and lunch, what a find! Really friendly people and great food with great service. My wife was really taken back with the little scissors to open the package of sauces. Really made our day thank you.

A curious place The food and drink are nice The staff are an intriguing team made up of some sweet ladies with a smile and a couple of town gossips who chat to some of the regulars about what Mrs Biggins down the road said last night in the local pub I’d definitely come back - both for a pot of tea and also for a chuckle at the local gossiping that kept me entertained for an hour Nice place

Love this little gem, missed their big breakfast box by half hour day 1 so had an amazing toasties with crunchie cheesecake for afters once I found where I'd misplaced it, so back again today to try another. Well done food is great and cheesecakes ong just shoot me now cos life doesn't get much better than Lynn's creations. The staff are all caring and brilliant. We ordered breakfast baps for take out. They are so friendly in here, food is made to order and all very well priced! We spent £10 for 3 people! That is because 2 of us shared a large bap when we seen the sheer size of them. I would return and recommend for sure.

Came to visit my family who have raved about Angeline’s. And I can see why, the breakfast baps are made fresh there and then, the cakes are beautiful (the egg custard tart was so so good). Will be back each time we come back! Xx

Just been in this afternoon with the family and dog.Cracking food and efficient service. Mixed grill was spot on and family loved the curry and kids meals.You can tell its all cooked fresh and don’t mind waiting knowing this.Atmosphere was how you expect it to be in a country pub people talking amongst themselves and fussing dogs. Just had a lovely afternoon here, food was absolutely amazing, Thai Fishcakes with chips n salad and Ribeye steak with all the trimmings. We were made to feel very welcome and had a few drinks before we ordered. Staff were really lovely and absolute top notch food … massive compliments to the chef …. Made even better as we were allowed to take the dog in (not a lot of places do this so it gave us the opportunity to enjoy a meal out together and not worry about the dog) will definitely go back and most definitely highly recommend this lovely place to anyone 👍👍👍

Lovely pub in the small village of, Mumby Lincolnshire. We were staying g at a nearby caravan park and we decided to go there for a drink or two. It was a lovely pub and the landlady, Anne was a perfect host, and we stayed until kicking out time. As a result, we booked a table for Saturday to sample their menu, and boy we were not disappointed. Both my partner and I had the 12oz ribeye steak, it was without a doubt the best ribeye steak that I have ever tasted. I am really fussy when it comes to eating steaks, I always cut the fatty grisslely buts off, but not on this occasion I ate every single piece of it, it was superb. We will definitely be going back when we are next in the area.

We stayed a mon-fri in the area, and when we arrived, we were starving, so we went to the nearest Chinese for a takeaway. Thank goodness we found this one! The food was so good we returned on Thursday night for more! Prices are excellent 👌 The girl who took our order was really nice ❤️ We will be back next time we are in the area 😀 Honestly, it is the best Chinese food we have had for such a long time 🐼

The people serving the food were absolutely lovely. We had a big Christmas Dinner here and felt really spoiled. Our waiter really looked after all our needs and even brought us mince pies at the end! After realizing we wouldn't find any food in Chapel St Leonards during this heavily raining day, we found this place to have a snack and a drink. Staff was friendly enough to get the kitchen running and we enjoyed a lovely fresh homemade soup and a good beer. Place is nice, has a pool table, a beer garden and a car park.

Found it very friendly menu a bit sparce as they were waiting delivery but at least we got a lunch could do with not cooking pies as much as we're a bit hard round edges. Please take this as a suggestion not a criticism but a little more filling in pies would not go amiss but all in all very friendly and helpful see you next time we are in Alford.

Quite simply the best takeaway food in the area.. the food is always super fresh, super tasty and generous in portion size. When we first found Cafe on the Cobbles we thought we had sturck gold and continue to use them regularly even though we have moved away from Alford. Emma and Owen always put a great box together with outstanding customer service at fantastically affordable prices. Keep doing it guys.. we love your food 🙂👍👍👍👍

I've been in the UK a little over 3 years now, and this was honestly the best food I've had here! Every single thing was amazingly flavourful and cooked to perfection! Matt's Mega Box is the perfect option to have a taste of what they have to offer, and the whole rack of ribs was so delicious! Will definitely be frequenting this spot!
