Lovely short winter stay. Our room was modern, comfortable, private and secure and we were made to feel very welcome. Great bathroom and shower with plenty of luxury towels. Beautiful bed. Excellent and generous breakfast and service. Free parking. Location great for exploring friendly Alford town and the Wolds. Thank you Paul and Nicky! We are happy to recommend and plan to rebook.

Paul and Nicky went above and beyond in service and kindness during our stay. No ask was too much and they made sure we were well looked after. The breakfast is yummy and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We’d highly recommend!

Me and my partner would highly recommend The anchor House .the host were very welcoming and polite and couldn't do enough for you The rooms were beautiful and modern and they smelt really fresh and clean and they were spotless. Breakfast facilities were very nice and the full breakfast what so tasty So if you need a place to say I would book here !!!

Excellent place to eat, great choice of food, large portions, decent coffee, can stay and chat awhile. Toilets a bit small. Restaurant all on one level including toilet. Parking a bit trickier, as only on the street. A couple of disabled bays. Suggest you book / reserve a table at the weekend.

Lovely wee place. We booked a table and it was a nice atmosphere with lovely friendly staff. I had steak which was delicious and my partner had Chicken stroganoff which was also lovely (I tasted both 😀) Thank you for a lovely evening.

Lovely garden centre, friendly staff in all departments. Food very good. However didn't like listening the way the manager spoke to person looking after Carvery section, she spoke too loud and talked down to him.

Beautiful big garden centre. Maze and kids play area. Dog friendly. Cafe. Clean inside. Plenty of plants to choose from. We loved the little walk over the pond and the giant animal statues. Would 100% return if in the area again

I went at Christmas time some great displays restrant shut a bit early but it was Christmas so understanding ample parking and free entry worth a visit for sure

Lovely pub in the small village of, Mumby Lincolnshire. We were staying g at a nearby caravan park and we decided to go there for a drink or two. It was a lovely pub and the landlady, Anne was a perfect host, and we stayed until kicking out time. As a result, we booked a table for Saturday to sample their menu, and boy we were not disappointed. Both my partner and I had the 12oz ribeye steak, it was without a doubt the best ribeye steak that I have ever tasted. I am really fussy when it comes to eating steaks, I always cut the fatty grisslely buts off, but not on this occasion I ate every single piece of it, it was superb. We will definitely be going back when we are next in the area.

Lovely friendly pub (dog friendly) gave us a treat for our dog and bowl of water as soon as we was seated. Steaks cooked exactly how you ask (beautiful ) good portions. Fantastic prices

Just had a lovely afternoon here, food was absolutely amazing, Thai Fishcakes with chips n salad and Ribeye steak with all the trimmings. We were made to feel very welcome and had a few drinks before we ordered. Staff were really lovely and absolute top notch food … massive compliments to the chef …. Made even better as we were allowed to take the dog in (not a lot of places do this so it gave us the opportunity to enjoy a meal out together and not worry about the dog) will definitely go back and most definitely highly recommend this lovely place to anyone 👍👍👍

Just been in this afternoon with the family and dog.Cracking food and efficient service. Mixed grill was spot on and family loved the curry and kids meals.You can tell its all cooked fresh and don’t mind waiting knowing this.Atmosphere was how you expect it to be in a country pub people talking amongst themselves and fussing dogs. We will definitely visit again next time we are at the van👍🏻

We've had several main dishes from this place plus some sides to take away. Really good and tasty food with a reasonable waiting time.

We stayed a mon-fri in the area, and when we arrived, we were starving, so we went to the nearest Chinese for a takeaway. Thank goodness we found this one! The food was so good we returned on Thursday night for more! Prices are excellent 👌 The girl who took our order was really nice ❤️ We will be back next time we are in the area 😀 Honestly, it is the best Chinese food we have had for such a long time 🐼

Absolutely love the place, decided to pop in for a quick pint with my fiance. Lovely bright pub with a pool table great service by the lovely barwoman and a decent beer garden. Will be my go to

Stayed 2 nights, first night we stayed in the apartment and was great, clean and spacious and dog friendly, we decided to then stay another night so moved to another room as the apartment was already booked and this room was also clean and spacious plenty of room for 2 adults 2 children and a dog. Hotel was quiet and good parking. Based in a lovely little town with lots of little shops to look in

I stopped here for a coffee before a morning walk around the village. It's a beautiful little pub conveniently placed for nearby walks. It was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. Special shout out to Jeff who showed me around!

My family took me here for my birthday meal and it was a great experience all round. The owner was absolutely lovely, he interacted with us from the moment we walked in and made us feel very welcome. It’s nice to see an owner being so involved with the customers like he was! Food was absolutely lovely too!

Had a lovely meal with family just after Christmas. As local Lincs people the Splash is an old haunt for us (my elderly mum did some of her courting here back in the day). As ever, the food was amazing. Beautiful steak and stilton pie with proper pastry, creamy mash and perfectly cooked veggies. The grilled haddock was both big and just cooked right.... Fresh, flaky and tasty. We had just enough room for their tasty desserts. Can recommend the sticky ginger toffee pudding. We just wish the staff could be more warm, welcoming and friendly. A smile, a welcome, some conversation with customers would really make this the perfect evening out. The food is so good that the lack of service isn't enough to stop us coming. But I would love to be able to give you five stars. Come on the management... A couple of team meetings, some training and checking would raise the warmth and quality of service to a standard that matches the food and environment.

We ordered breakfast baps for take out. They are so friendly in here, food is made to order and all very well priced! We spent £10 for 3 people! That is because 2 of us shared a large bap when we seen the sheer size of them. I would return and recommend for sure.

Love this little gem, missed their big breakfast box by half hour day 1 so had an amazing toasties with crunchie cheesecake for afters once I found where I'd misplaced it, so back again today to try another. Well done food is great and cheesecakes ong just shoot me now cos life doesn't get much better than Lynn's creations. The staff are all caring and brilliant. Takeaway or sit in either way uve made a brilliant choice

Great little cafe. Good food, freshly prepared and fab coffee. Quite quick too and very good value. Highly recommended stop off before the beach.

Came to visit my family who have raved about Angeline’s. And I can see why, the breakfast baps are made fresh there and then, the cakes are beautiful (the egg custard tart was so so good). Will be back each time we come back! Xx

We recently had the pleasure of fish and chips at the Jolly Friar in Alford, and what a trip down memory lane it was! The fish and chips were so crisp, you could hear the crunch over the wireless. The fish was flakier than the ration book promises, and the chips—well, they were the perfect shade of golden brown, just like a freshly pressed ARP warden's uniform. Now, let's talk about the spam fritters. It's not every day you come across a delicacy that reminds you of both the best and worst of the Blitz. These little beauties took me right back to the days when spam was king, and tinned peaches were a luxury! The fritters were fried to perfection, with just the right amount of grease to make you feel like you're doing your bit for the war effort. Just be sure to bring a healthy appetite and a sense of humour, because after a plate of their fish and chips, you'll be more stuffed than an evacuee's suitcase.

Love it here... The food is delicious and portions are huge. They're really friendly and always seem genuinely pleased to see you. If you haven't already you must definitely try the tikka dirty fries. ❤️

Lovely staff, wonderful food & incredibly great value for money

Quite simply the best takeaway food in the area.. the food is always super fresh, super tasty and generous in portion size. When we first found Cafe on the Cobbles we thought we had sturck gold and continue to use them regularly even though we have moved away from Alford. Emma and Owen always put a great box together with outstanding customer service at fantastically affordable prices. Keep doing it guys.. we love your food 🙂👍👍👍👍
