Found this gem of a pub whilst on our last day of holiday. Popped in for lunch and so glad we did. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely day so we sat in the courtyard which had plenty of seating and shade for the dog. Just as well we didn't find it earlier, I'd be going home even fatter 🀣

First time visit to this pub in the small and very pretty village of Raithby. Quickly seated with a warm welcome. Shown the specials board and left to decide what we want. We both had the prawn starter, then we had chicken schnitzel and also the Hake with wild boar tortellini. I cannot emphasise enough what a fabulous dish the Hake was. It melted in your mouth. Beautifully cooked. And if they ever decide to make the wild boar tortellini a full main..I'll be there. Being absolutely stuffed we somehow managed an affogato between us.

Great dog friendly pub and restaurant with very friendly staff. And not forgetting Hockney, the owners pooch, who is adorable! The pub was busy on both occasions we visited. We both had their burgers, which were very tasty. Great selection of Gins. And on draught, there was Batemans XB and Ferry Ales Brewery, Intruder and Spirit of Jane. Please note that you need to book a table!!

We stopped here for a light lunch while visiting relatives in the area. We really enjoyed the toasties, with a variety of fillings available on the menu. The next day we called in for a coffee and cake. I had the best cheese scones ever and my husband had his favourite fruit scones with jam and clotted cream. There were a selection of freshly baked cakes available and all food is freshly prepared and baked by the owner and his wife on the premises, using locally sourced ingredients. I will definitely go again when in the area and highly recommend it.

Quite a small place with just a few tables indoor and out. We ordered paninis and were served what I'd call toasties. They were tasty, but not quite what expected. I love a good fruit scone so ordered one to finish off, mine was a little dry for my taste with just a couple of sultanas. Perhaps just a dodgy batch because the rest of the cakes on offer looked amazing. Would revisit if we were in the area again.

Exceptional !! ordered a warm sausage roll, piece of cheese cake and coffee. The coffee was stunning, the sausage roll was possibly the best I have ever had, and the deserts... Well, they where to die for... !! presentation of the food 5star !!. Anywhere else we would have got a white plate with just what we asked for... But not here, we got a lovely addition of salad, crisps and fruit items. The staff where engaging and the service was excellent... We sat upstairs.... I can not fault anything, go and see for yourself, Spilsby is very lucky to have this little gem, well worth a visit.

Beautiful pub. Food mostly excellent except for steaks. My son ordered a medium rare and was delivered a fully cooked steak. He mentioned it wasn't what he'd ordered but would eat it anyway rather than wait for another. Minutes later one of two gentlemen sitting on the table behind us complained for the exact same reason!!! No apologies, explanations or a little discount. Disappointing. Buy the chef a meat thermometer, it may help!? Rest of food was very good. Presentation excellent. Service great. Pub very clean and well presented. Lovely outside seating area. Recommend...unless you are a medium/rare steak lover!

Great food. Great service. Just a shame that smoke drifted in the restaurant from outside. The doors and windows were open as it was such a lovely sunny day, so other than move to another table, not alot could be done. Great meal though πŸ‘Œ

My partner called and we got in at 14.30 for Sunday lunch, when we got there the bar area had a few people in. The open fire was going and it was very pleasant. Greeted by the staff that knew my partner and we were quickly shown to our table. We waited a good few minutes for someone to take our order. But when the food arrived it was amazing. Good service great food.

Stopped here for lunch/light snack. I had a lincolnshire sausage sandwich with seeded bread. I advised that I was cow dairy intolerant, so I missed out on the coleslaw. The side salad and extra chips were good too. Was advised there could be a 20-minute delay, but we didn't wait that long.

I'm only in the area for a few days but I happened on this pub by chance, and so glad I did. Lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff, especially the lady doing the meals. I ordered the beef and ale pie and it was amazing! Beautiful big chunks of lean steak, with mushrooms a gravy, with chips and peas on the side. The tastiest and most filling meal I've had in a long long time. Beautiful

Rachel's Cafe

Sausthorpe Rd, Spilsby PE23 4LE, UK | Cafe
P: 01507 588424

Rating: 4.7 (1128) Price Level:

Great, what some would call, British working class food. This cafe has no airs or gracias, it is what it is and wears it's heart on its sleeve. Food is top notch with an amazing price point. Staff are friendly and work hard to deliver and create a welcoming atmosphere. It is spotlessly clean, no sticky tables here. Parking, entry and seating is fully accessible to the mobility impaired with or without able body support. A favorite with locals, bikers and those (like us) traveling. Been here many times, and have NEVER had a bad experience or food. But be warned it is that good it can get very busy, but don't let that put you off. It does indoor, out door and takeaway.

I am a biker and I like to pop here during the week when it's quieter, as it's a nice 50 minute ride to here from my home(I am retired). Great brekkie and they even do fried bread. Lovely jubly. I have never had a bad meal here. My favourite Bikers cafe. Edit: I have continued to visit the fabulous cafe and went again today (Nov 13th 2024). Breakfast and a pot of tea was Β£6.40 and it was beautiful and fresh. That is great value. They are not trying to rip you off in this place. Just a fabulous cafe.

Brilliant. Welcomed with a cheerful smile by the owner. The Red Lion is maintained to very high standard with an attractive patio garden for those who wished to eat out, as we did. The food was delicious and well presented. I had a Ribeye steak which was cooked to my exact liking whilst my wife chose the Fried Haddock which was also delicious. Overall, a lovely experience at a reasonable price. Highly recommended. I would suggest that it's advisable to book a table.

I found this little gem by accident as I was working in the area. Christine is an amazing and flexible host, where nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are immaculate, I particularly like the rooms in the garden as I can have to work unsociable hours. Christine has kindly got up early, as has Jane, the chef, to ensure I have breakfast. The evening menu is delicious, although I would advise anyone to book a table to prevent being disappointed. I look forward to returning as a leisure guest.
