As a typical boy getting him to sit down and study was always a challenge, however he never complained once about working with Tom to prepare for his SATs. In-fact he was even happy to have tutoring sessions during the holidays.... This company was recommended to me by several friends and I highly recommend them too. I have been using Acorn Tutors for over a year to support my children (12 and 10) with Maths and Literacy. The quality of the teaching is excellent, with innovative methods and clever use of technology to engage and enable children. The rapport that the tutor has built with my two (who are very different learners) is based on empathic understanding of children, and obviously a sound knowledge of psychology! I like that the tutor also took the time to email the children's teachers to liaise with them. Overall a very professional, reliable, and skilled service that will be make a long term difference in my family.

Tom has worked with our child for a year leading up to her SATs and we've been very impressed with his ability to work at her speed and keep her engaged every lesson. We used Acorn Tutors upon numerous recommendations during the unfortunate COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. Once it was clear that the Year 6 SATS were not going ahead we utilised Tom's experience and professionalism for twice weekly Zoom lessons for our son in preparation for starting Year 7 at a new much larger secondary school.
