Alect were fantastic, amazingly responsive, with very detailed emails answering all my queries. They were polite, professional, prompt and fair with their charges. They prefer not to cut corners so I paid a little more but the EICR job was thorough and I don't regret paying the extra for peace of mind. I'm sure that when the certificate comes up for renewal in five years, there will be little if any extra work to do. What has stood out for me is their communication. I passed on their original quotation to two other electricians for their comments and, to their credit, Alect didn't mind at all and gave a reasoned and considered response to some of the points that were raised. I actually ended up falling out with one of the other electricians because I felt that, if I would have gone with him instead, he would have cut corners just to be more price competitive, and he didn't like to hear that! In the end, I decided that only with Alect would I have peace of mind that the job had been done properly. And it has!

We could not be happier with Alect! They carried out an inspection on a faulty electric fire. When they couldn’t repair it they quickly sourced an alternative and fitted it without delay. Communication was friendly and efficient at all stages of the process. Great job done - thank you!

I rang Alect due to my boiler not working and somebody was out within the hour. Unfortunately they were not able to fix the problem that night however quickly fitted me in for a boiler replacement. Everyone I came into contact with was very helpful and professional and I would highly recommend Alect to anyone!

Absolutely incredible service my daughter was without a boiler all weekend due to her landlord being abroad. Had Andy round because Boiler stopped working over the cold snap this February 2019. Everyone else on the phone wanted up to £100 just to come out and look, but Andy didn't. He found time within half an hour to come out to Ilkeston and we, not he, agreed that as the boiler was 15 plus yrs old it might be better to fit a new one. Great priced estimate,which he stuck to, even though he fitted a new drain valve as ours could not be found without making a mess and guesswork, free of charge. Took him a day, I got there the next and he'd already finished, boiler is great, got heat, and the old boiler and parts neatly tidied away and disposed of by Andy. How can it get any better than that.Andy does the job how you would like all tradesmen to do, but sadly don't . This guy is a keeper. We advise you to use him before others because he is a refreshing change, and good at what he is supposed to be good at.

We called Andy, The Plumber to install plumbing for a washing machine, a couple of outside taps and to swap kitchen taps for a mixer tap. Andy was easy to contact, courteous, responsive and flexible. He provided sound advice and accurate quote prior to the work. On the day, he turned up on time, his work was fast and to a very high standard. Overall, we are delighted by the workmanship and customer service and can wholeheartedly recommend Andy, The Plumber.

Stapleford Plumber We have used Andy now for the past 3 years, each and every time he turns up when he say's, he is smart polite and friendly. We've always had Gary and Greg do our plumbing and heating work on both the houses we have owned, and over many years. They've undertaken stuff as simple as a tap repair to as complex as a full new heating system. George Smith Plumbers are the best. No doubt about it. I have used the company twice in the space of a few weeks. They fitted an immersion heater heater into my hot water storage tank and made an excellent job of it. Then, my central heating stopped working and within a few hours they had it all up and running again. I cannot praise them highly enough. I would highly recommend Christopher G Smith Plumbing and Heating. Chris came round to service our boiler and did a very thorough job to a very high standard. Throughout the work, he demonstrated great knowledge and skills but also explained things so that we could understand. Chris was also professional and always made an effort not to leave a mess, even when having to go outside a many occasions to access our gas meter. When our pump for our central heating system failed 1 week before Christmas Liam at Prime Plumbing was amazing. He had to resite the heating pump due to accessibility issues and squeezed us into his busy schedule. They charged a fair price for the work but the speed at which they completed the work was truly amazing and most importantly the quality of the workmanship was of the highest standard. Great company and a great workman. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Inspired Washrooms have recently enlarged and completely refitted a toilet we open to the public to make it as accessible as possible. Our Centre is run by volunteers and they have been particularly helpful guiding us through the design process and working with our funders and an Accessibilty Group to ensure everyone is pleased with the result. They made site visits in advance and talked through all the limitations and helped us make informed choices. They were easily available by email and phone throughout the long development process. All their staff were approachable and helpful. When the job was being done the installation crew were diligent and delivered all that was specified within the time we had allowed. I am very happy to recommend them and would use them again for any other similar work.

We called Vic out to an emergency on a Sunday morning. He was with us within half an hour. Our radiator was leaking badly, he immediately set about resolving our problem. He also identified a problem with our water tank in the attic. He returned Monday morning with a plan to getting us back up and running. He drove to Leicester to collect a new radiator as it was an awkward size. He was very professional and worked in a very clean fashion. We are delighted with his service and would have no problem calling him again.
