Christian is a consummate professional, and a true expert. He did a thorough consultation when we asked him to replace our balcony balustrade and where other tradesmen took a glance and suggested a quick fix, Christian took the time to analyse the job and explained all of our options down to the choice of wood. We were comfortable that his advice was the best solution for a fast-decaying balcony. In little time, he had designed a new, safer balcony and made balustrades by hand in keeping with the original design. He also went above and beyond to fix old issues that were uncovered during the job. He really cares about carpentry. Highly recommend!

6 back doors had been installed 15 years ago but not maintained since and needed full overhaul Christian worked on the job as an accomplished craftsman, working diligently to leave the doors as good as (or probably better than) new. Rotten wood was carefully dealt with and bolts and locks which previously did not fit worked perfectly. His honest approach meant that work he had originally recommended and included in the estimate was removed when he realised on further investigation was not necessary On the basis of work done on our house I would highly recommend

My commission was for a large, custom-made wall unit - 4.5m x 2.5m; the material to be used was solid ash. Christian showed great care and attention to all the details of the complex design from selecting the original timber, all the way through the construction phase to the final hand-polishing of the unit. I particularly appreciated his regular communications throughout the lengthy build. The outcome is a fine, hand-crafted 'statement' piece.

We are exceptionally pleased with the service Christian has provided for us. He has built a very well made cupboard with three shelves above, all along a difficult stretch of wall in our wobbly and wonky flat. The cupboard’s design is perfectly in keeping with the period features in the rest of the property. Christian was able to carry out this work for us in a timely manner, with good quality materials but at a very reasonable price, was efficient, and a delight to have in our home. We are so pleased with the result and look forward to being in touch when we next have carpentry needs!

I had A1 come to do my bay window this summer and the job has been seamless start to finish. Toni and the team have given me the windows I've always wanted! Beautiful sash windows that dont leak, have annoying condensation and hooray, actually make my flat warmer. It was great working with people who take the job seriously, Toni came and spent a decent amount of time measuring everything meticulously, he gave an accurate quote, stuck to the timelines he gave me AND managed to take into account my shutters that were already installed. I am really pleased with the work and would recommend them to anyone!

A1 Joinery replaced 6 double glazed sash windows and 1 double glazed casement window at the front of my property and Toni and his team did a really excellent job. The windows are high quality and are competitively priced . The installation team did a great job fitting all the windows, particularly the dormer window on the top floor which was fitted without the need for any scaffolding. A1 Joinery can be relied upon to do a good job and are highly recommended.

I bought 4 big sash windows and 1 casement window from A1 Bespoke. They are all standard double glazed window (to replace existing single glazed). I asked at least 3 quotes and Toni provided the best price. They have been installed and these windows work perfectly. From the day the window was installed, I already felt that the insulation is much better! Installation was very smooth and the team have kept my room clean. I will use them again. Definitely recommended.

Toni and team designed, built and installed a beautiful door to replace an existing period window - the style matches very well and we’re really happy with it. We have a difficult to make use of small boiler room in our flat. In need of more storage space we got in touch with Solid Carpentry. They did such an excellent job from start to finish. I worked with Mark to build a media unit for my TV and I absolutely loved the result. Mark is very professional, he replied quickly to my enquiry and even managed to squeeze the job in his busy agenda before Christmas. He replied to all my questions and even advised on the design. Brilliant, we have had some work done by another company in our extension which I wasn’t happy with but they came and fixed everything to a higher standard than we could of hoped for and whilst having a casual talk I mentioned looking for a more stylish baby safety gate than your normal plastic one they mentioned they could make one and I am extremely pleased how it looks! Andy did a great job with our bath frame and panels. He was kind enough to fit us in on short notice after completing some other work. He was responsive, punctual, worked well and quickly and was a really nice person to work with! Andy also had the benefit of cutting items remotely so was able to keep our bathroom incredibly clean, and was tidy in general. I had a great experience with him and will definitely use him again for future work.

Andy did a fabulous job restoring a recently purchased antique chest of drawers. He did a quick and free site visit to assess the piece of furniture and gave an honest evaluation of how it could be restored and what the costs would be. He was able to fit me into his busy schedule because I was anxious about getting the piece fixed. He was prompt and brought all the necessary tools. He walked me through the issues and fully restored the drawers in a timely manner. It wasn’t the most obvious solution, but Andy is knowledgeable, skilled and creative at solving issues. He left the area clean and was tidy during the process. Besides being a skilled carpenter, he is also kind, warm and professional. Would definitely recommend!

Andy is absolutely amazing. I've had him do loads of stuff over the last few years, including building bookcases (he's a trained carpenter), staining my floors (which he made look 1000% times better), painting, and resealing windows. He's extremely reliable and honest, and this is confirmed by a former neighbor who first introduced me to him. He's also very tidy, so you don't even know he was there after the work's done. I've used Camden Boxframe several times over the last 20 years and they have been invariably efficient and professional. They deliver high-quality, long-lasting work and leave the property in great condition without requiring any further touch-ups or repairs surrounding the replacement windows. I don't know if they're the cheapest or quickest option available, because I value reliability and high standards of work over lowest price. On the most recent job they did for me, which included a really tricky frame replacement in a narrow corner, installation and making good took two days and I wasn't charged anything extra for the trouble. I have recommended them to many people over the years and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Recently I've had the need to contact Calvin at Camden Boxframe on some technical and specification issues with regards to the property being in a conservation area. Calvin promptly produced all the relevant drawings and specifications required for my planning application to the local authority. Calvin would not accept any payment for his time or the drawings he did for me. V impressed with his commitment to traditional, beautiful joinery with the latest energy & security ratings. A good old fashioned service in a modern world.

I met some of the people who work for this company today and they were doing a great job, on time, very professional and friendly. They can repair stain glass listed windows too that must be replaced and this is very difficult to find. Certainly, I can recommend them.
