I had an amazing experience at Laz Cafe! We had come for a spa break on the way to claygate and came across this amazing cafe on the way! The pancakes with strawberries and blueberries were some of the best I've ever had—so fluffy and delicious. Everything felt homemade, and the carrot cake was definitely the best in town; the flavors were incredible and tasted super fresh. The owner mentioned she uses cinnamon from back home, and you can really taste the difference! I also loved the falafel, halloumi, spinach, and sweet chili wrap—it was fantastic! The staff and owner were super friendly, creating a great atmosphere. There was a lovely selection of pastries and bakery goodies! I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly Recommended⭐️😍

I like to take my family when they come to stay. Staff are really lovely. We love the decor and the music. Great pancakes for the children served on shark themed plates. Wonderful coffee and food also very good all presented in a quirky individual way. Feel like a lot of thought has gone into giving us a nice experience. This is our go-to place to eat and drink in Esher

We just found this gem when looking for somewhere to grab some food in Esher. The breakfast was incredibly good, with exceptional presentation. The staff were extremely laid back, friendly and professional. After brunch we watched the mixologist make some cocktails, then promptly ordered an espresso martini. It was divine. The atmosphere was lovely, the food and drink were exceptional and we will definitely be back for more. Finding a place like this is so rare nowadays. We definitely stumbled upon a special place.

Amazing venue for private hire! We have been visiting Hummings bar for many years now as they do the best brunch by far - nowhere else compares! Last week I had my baby shower at this location and it didn’t disappoint! Since booking the venue months ago the team (special shout out to Ramon & Georgia) have been there every step of the way. Phone calls to discuss plans, timings, the food menu which I was able to customise with the team as well as cocktails, they ensured every detail was discussed and perfect. They also catered brilliantly to dietary requirements. The service on the day was perfection, nothing was too much to ask for, food and drinks were delicious, staff were so friendly and we couldn’t fault the venue or team at all, easy to park in the area, everyone commented on the staff and how much of a stunning venue this is (which makes perfect for private hire as you don’t even need to decorate, it’s so unique with such a cool vibe!) Everyone had such a fab time! I would highly recommend this venue & will be back - huge thank you Hummings for making my baby shower so special & a day we won’t forget!! Yasmin x

We decided to go to Zeitoun for my birthday celebration, and it turned out to be an exceptional choice. The ambiance was absolutely delightful, warm and inviting. It set the perfect tone for a special evening. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was packed with flavour and the portions were generous, leaving everyone more than satisfied. The balance of spices and freshness in the dishes was remarkable, showcasing the essence of Lebanese cuisine. The staff were another highlight. Their friendliness and attentiveness made the experience even better. They were quick to offer recommendations and ensured everything went smoothly throughout the meal, adding a personal and thoughtful touch to the evening. The music was fantastic and added a lively energy to the restaurant. It enhanced the overall atmosphere without overwhelming the conversation or dining experience. Overall, this restaurant exceeded expectations and made my birthday celebration truly memorable. It’s a place I’d happily recommend to anyone looking for delicious food, exceptional service and a charming dining experience.

Had a meal with 2 friends on Saturday night for a friends 30th. I asked the staff if they could bring something out with a candle and all the staff came over and sang happy birthday. The food was out of this world! Absolutely mouthwatering delicious. I can’t find fault in anything that we ordered! We shared vine leaves, moussaka and cheese in filo pastry to start. For our main lamb chops, the cod and mine was the king prawns. Every mouthful was delicious. Added bonus was the Dj afterwards. It was an expensive night but we did have 2 bottles of wine and some cocktails.

The food & coffee cannot be faulted in the slightest... Food tasted incredibly fresh, healthy and very flavourful with generous portions. The coffee is probably the best I’ve tried, incredible taste and didn’t want it to end... Service was okay, needs improvement hence why I gave a 4*. One waiter was very friendly and helpful but 2 of the waitresses were a little unwelcoming. Service was a little delayed than what I would’ve expected. I would definitely go back here for the great food & coffee and recommend.... great local gem!

What a GEM! I've travelled to London for a short conference and was brought to this lovely Cafe. The staff was friendly and so welcoming. They recommended the scotch egg and chicken& ham Cornish pasty. Yum! I had a mocha while my friend (local) had an Americano. I reckon I would be a regular if I lived here. 5 stars 👋🏻 Totally recommend if you are passing through and need a break.

We went here yesterday and I have to say this is a strong 5* all round! The food, the service by every single waiter, the manager made it such a lovely atmosphere for NYE. it was such a family friendly environment with excellent food! They even put on a firework show at midnight for a surprise. They had a DJ which were playing amazing songs and happy to take requests. Considering it was supposed to be a quiet meal we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I'd go back without a doubt! It was £85 for NYE with flowing drinks and a 3 course meal so a normal dinner would be approx £50 per head so excellent value for money! Thanks for a great evening! Excellent food choicrs and a great al a cart menu!

Nice restaurant with great food. One or two members of staff seemed a little tetchy (though not the person who served us, who was very pleasant). We were there 45 mins before last orders and didn't order anything big (plate of food each and a bottle of wine) so not too late but got the impression we were imposing on them. A smile would have been good.

Good pizza, home made pachero, and service was also very attentive. I'm unsure why so many reviews criticize the staff, but we had a totally ok time! We also went on a Monday evening and it was definitely slow (though still 5-6 tables for dinner). Spent ~£24pp.

We arrived early on Halloween and had the place to ourselves. The crew doted over us and made us feel like the real deal. As the place filled up they didn’t skip a beat. Families with small children, so called grown ups like us alike, the place was bustling with laughter and good times. The food was classic Italian and done to perfection. I had the carbonara and it was silky smooth and delicious. My wife’s clam spaghetti was fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly. And the truffle pizza did t disappoint. Last but not least, no words to describe the deserts… so I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Good prices, amazing food and friendly service. Loved it!

Coco Cafe at Claygate station - Great coffee and outstanding service from Sean & Shadi!! You are always welcomed with a smile and treated like a friend. A fantastic local coffee shop that does the best coffee in the area. If you like home made soups and Persian food, then you must come here.

Ok, so I know we might be a bit biased, but honestly it wouldn't make any difference even if we didn't supply them their coffee. You see, Sean and Shadi who own Coco Cafe really are the best when it comes to hospitality and running a coffee bar. They really care about their customers and treat you like one of the family. They'll get to know how you like your coffee when you become a regular customer and you'll not even need to ask…it will be ready for you just in time for you to catch your train! They offer a choice of organic, rainforest alliance and regular types of coffee….all freshly made for you and there's some great food on offer if you're needing something more. You won't go wrong with this great husband and wife run cafe!

Popped in here yesterday for a quick bite to eat and noticed at the bottom of the menu, "ask about our Persian dishes", so I did. Only one choice was available by then, so I tried it. A very good decision. Dried barberries with chicken and rice. VERY NICE! The welcome here was very friendly and pleasant. I would certainly return if I was in the area again, although it should be noted that while there is some outside seating, the seating inside if VERY limited (3 stools and a shelf). I was perfectly happy with this, but be aware that if there's a group of you and it's raining you would have a problem! Thank you Coco Cafe for a great welcome and a great meal.

Had to take refuge in this lovely little place as I’d locked myself out. My daughter and I arrived as food was finishing but Nathan very kindly offered food if my daughter wanted it. We ordered coffee and a milkshake and my daughter loved the strawberry cheesecake milkshake. The atmosphere was lovely. Nathan didn’t even rush us out when it was time to close as he knew we were locked out. He was very hospitable and made what could have been a pain situation very pleasant and relaxing. And I even managed to keep working with use of the shop WiFi. Thank you very much Nathan.

José Pizarro The Swan Inn

2 Hare Ln, Claygate, Esher KT10 9BS, UK | Spanish Restaurant
P: 01372 462582

Rating: 4.4 (746) Price Level:

This suburban pub is well kept with light and airy modern interior decor and farmhouse tables and furniture. It feels cosy and welcoming as soon as you step inside. What is a surprise is that the menu for those who have not heard of Jose Pizzaro is a Spanish tapas lead one. There are traditional Sunday roasts available, but we headed out there for the tapas, and we were not disappointed. All the popular dishes are here served with their own special flair.

Really lovely place. I'm a fan of Jose's London restaurants, but this was my first time trying the Swan Inn. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Spanish food and great wine. The pork ribs with cassoulet were my favourite dish, but everything was top notch and the service was excellent. They are very dog friendly too. It was well worth the one hour drive from Brighton.

Food was beautifully cooked and our waiters were friendly and helpful. Service was a bit on the slow side considering the restaurant was only half full. The temperature in the dining room could have been warmer but a very pleasant ambience. It was Burns Night and we were given a shot of malt whiskey which was a lovely gesture.

Returning to The Foley for another stay was a real pleasure. Since my last visit, the pub has been beautifully refurbished and now has a warm, stylish, and inviting atmosphere that makes it a great place to unwind. Richard provided a warm, friendly, and professional welcome at check-in. My room was spotless, spacious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—great for a good night’s sleep. There were lots of breakfast options. I had a full English breakfast, and it was delicious. The staff provided excellent service, going out of their way to ensure you felt well looked after. We had a really lovely experience here after some very hit and misses (more commonly misses) in the surrounding area while staying here for a week. The lady that served us was French and brought with her that air of hospitality as a career rather than a job that continental Europeans have that makes for really nice service. Efficient, polite and warm but unobtrusive. We hadn’t booked but were seated easily although it was a fairly busy Thursday night. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating available and a kids play park. I was so so happy to see the menu. A few carefully curated items rather than a huge menu (which I always avoid where possible as you just know it’s either done badly or isn’t fresh). I was surprised to notice that despite the appealing choices on the menu, literally everyone around us seemed to be eating burgers or fish and chips! Each to their own I suppose but I had the confit duck, my husband the lamb cutlets and his father the mussels. We all thought our food was incredibly tasty and were so happy we went on and had puddings which were also yummy. We would definitely be regulars if we lived in the area highly recommend!

Stooped by The Hare and Hounds for a quick bite and pint after returning from Richmond Park for a stroll. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality and speed of service in the food department. So well cooked, just like your mums roast potatoes. The price is misleading. It seems a bit cheap for the quality! Not every day you can say that! Well worth a punt if your in the area.
