I am totally in love with this place. We were there for breakfast around 9 AM in the morning and we were their first customer ☺️. Such warm staff, they served us really well. They come and ask you if everything is ok, if you like your food or not, If you want anything specific with your food. They have preserved their place really well and written everything about the story of how this place has started.

Not being from the area, I asked a local where is best to go as I had a few hours to kill. They pointed me in the direction of Mullins. I was greeting by great customer service and even better food, iced coffee which was perfect and you can tell they do put a lot of care into their food and their relationships with customers. Whilst sitting here there were people coming in just to say hi to the staff! Great atmosphere and if you are travelling through Dorking, it’s definitely worth to stop.

Love how much history is packed into this little coffee shop. The staff was so friendly and happy to have so many people in their cafe. Quick service and the food was delicious. Many veggie and vegan options for food. Indoor and some outdoor seating. They give you a delicious piece of ginger cake with your hot drink it was very tasty.

Coffee in the copse

Rating: 4.9 (19) Price Level:

I’ve no idea how they stay in business but thank goodness they do. They are super hard to find - about 150m off the road. When you get to the sign, don’t go down the single track path but instead go into what looks like a farmyard. Once you arrive though - wow! What a coffee shop. Great cakes, decent coffee and views that are just incredible.

Delightful find when visiting Dorking. Very light and airy cafe with good access for wheelchairs, pushchairs etc and enough space inside for them. Delicious soup and roll, with the option of having the roll warmed. Since I had only ordered a soup I received a complimentary glass of tap water. Cafe is staffed by young people with learning difficulties. I would definitely return when next in Dorking

I visited here worse for wear after coming off my bike. The staff were superb, they patched me up and then served up a fine coffee and cake. The staff and management were very kind and lifted my spirits on an otherwise painful day. Will definitely return when next in the area and hopefully, minus injuries.

What a find!! As soon as you walk in their’s such a warm welcome from the employees. I think it’s fantastic having a cafe in Dorking that’s giving people with learning disabilities the opportunity to work in the community. The service was amazing and the food delicious! I’m looking forward to going back and working my way through the menu! Compared to other cafes in Dorking it’s very reasonably priced. They also sell cards in there that are hand made by people who go to the grange. Our server called Guy was exceptionally helpful, polite and chatty. It really does make a difference getting a service with a smile! Another plus… it’s dog friendly! Can’t wait to go back.

I stumbled upon Aldag Charity Cups & Co during my first visit to Dorking, and what a delightful find it was! Walking down the High Street, my hunger led me to explore a random cafe, and I'm so glad I did. The charming appearance of the cafe caught my eye, and little did I know, it had a heartwarming mission of employing individuals with learning difficulties/disabilities. Although I'm quite particular about food, I decided to give it a try, and I must say, I wasn't disappointed. The flavors were on point, and even my discerning taste buds were won over. The standout for me was the sorbet, a burst of amazing flavors that left me wishing for a bigger serving – it was that good! The staff at Aldag Charity Cups & Co were not only well presented but also incredibly polite. The lady who seemed to be overseeing things was exceptionally sweet and attentive, making the dining experience all the more pleasant. The sincerity of the staff and the positive atmosphere they created added to the overall appeal of the cafe. If fate brings me back to the area, there's no doubt I'd make a return visit to Aldag Charity Cups & Co. It would be for that irresistible sorbet and a refreshing iced coffee. This cafe is a true gem, not just for its culinary offerings but for the positive impact it makes in the community.

Nestled on a quiet corner of Reigate, this local cafe is nothing short of magical. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the warm, inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the gentle hum of happy chatter. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort, with soft lighting, eclectic decor, and plenty of cozy nooks to settle into. The coffee? Simply outstanding. Their expertly crafted lattes and velvety cappuccinos rival anything you’d find in a major city. The baristas are true artists, adorning each cup with beautiful latte art that almost (almost!) makes you hesitate to take that first sip. The cafe also offers a wide variety of teas, smoothies, and creative seasonal specials, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The food menu is equally impressive, featuring locally sourced ingredients that highlight the best of the area. Their avocado toast is a masterpiece, and the homemade pastries — particularly the buttery croissants and decadent brownies — are worth every indulgent bite. They also cater to a range of dietary preferences, with vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options that are just as delicious as their traditional offerings. What truly sets this cafe apart, though, is the staff. They’re incredibly friendly, attentive, and passionate about what they do. It’s clear they take pride in creating a space where everyone feels welcome, whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee or spending an afternoon working or catching up with friends. This cafe is more than just a place to grab a drink or bite to eat — it’s a cornerstone of the community. If you’re in Reigate, do yourself a favour and visit. You’ll leave with a happy heart, a satisfied palate, and plans to return again and again.

Capelberry Cafe

20 A Forrest Rd, Capel WA 6271, Australia | Cafe
P: (08) 9727 1001

Rating: 4.5 (408) Price Level:

Just passing through town. Stopped for a cool drink and a pot of tea. Had the home made pumpkin scones (plain scones with pieces of pumpkin through the dough). Bit different to the normal pumpkin scones but still tasty. Loose leaf tea was so much nicer than the normal or bag tea. Found the only downside was the table service was a bit slow. Saw one couple who had been there before us leave. They had their toasted sandwich as a takeaway.

I was happy to see the hiking institution has reopened! I had a bacon, sausage and egg bap, here are my thoughts. Bacon - decent amount and decent thickness. Egg - It's an egg. Sausage - cheap catering sausage with no flavour. I understand that a place like this operates on thin margins but if I'm there, I've driven over an hour to go hiking. I'd much rather pay a little bit more for decent sausage! I have bread either side of my pork, I don't want anymore in my sausage. Service was good, friendly and quick. I'd recommend that the server ask if the order is to go (it was), if I want butter or spread and if I want any sauce on it. I'd also suggest that when the bap is wrapped, it is wrapped so that the bottom of the bap is in the middle of the foil to catch the yolk. It's a little thing, but it's attention to detail. I was happy enough with my trip and will stop again if I'm out that way. I wish these new owners the best of luck and hope they can make it work.

This place is legendary and thankfully re-opened. Under new owners, so be nice to see everyone backing this local business. Very glad to see they still do a vegan breakfast. It will be great to see more vegan cakes and savoury options, but it’s early days. Wish the owners all the best.

A specialty cafe with a healthy menu, calming décor, wood tables, local merchandise, smiles of the servers. My sausage sarnie came with red onions in it of which its sweetness went well with the pork, the sourdough freshly moist, the meat freshly juicy. My wife's avocado on toast was wholesome but the avocado was cut in halves though garnished with red pepper. I would prefer it being smashed and seasoned.

Manor Farm Tea Room

Wood Lane, Seale, Farnham GU10 1HR, UK | Tea House
P: 01252 783661

Rating: 4.7 (623) Price Level:

Stopped here on a charity cycle ride from London to Poole. What an amazing pitstop for 15 minutes. Internally, the cafe is incredibly cosy, with a quintessential English feel to it, in a quiet, bucolic setting. When it comes to cakes, they offer all the classics, and by the taste of the granola bar I ordered, I reckon they have the recipes bang on. I also noticed a wide selection of teas, which I will have to try next time. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area and “gasping for that cuppa!”

The Dabbling Duck

Middle St, Shere, Guildford GU5 9HF, UK | Cafe
P: 01483 205791

Rating: 4.5 (1223) Price Level:

Had a lovely breakfast at the dabbling duck. The staff were all very friendly and service and food could not be faulted. There was only one fly in the ointment. We sat inside the cafe as did a lot of dog owners. My friend has allergies and is a bit wary of dogs so it was a bit off putting to her. They were also all a bit over excited and ‘talking’ to each other which made it hard for us to converse. I’ve no objection to well behaved dogs but not everyone feels the same for various reasons and they are not necessarily just being intolerant. The Dabbling Duck has a large heated marquee outside as well as covered heated outdoor seating. Would it not be a good compromise to welcome dogs only to these areas and keep the small inside seating area pet free. Other than that small niggle it was a lovely brunch before a bracing walk in beautiful countryside surrounding Shere.

Pinnock's

Pinnocks, High St, Ripley, Woking GU23 6AF, UK | Coffee Shop
P: 01483 222419

Rating: 4.7 (778) Price Level:

What an incredible, yet somewhat accidental find! Pinnocks is the most wonderful little cafe in the heart of Ripley. I wanted only to find a quick cup of coffee but what I found was an exquisite beamed ceiling and slate tiled floor, lovely farmhouse tables, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful foods, perfect for a light lunch. There’s the gentle hum of conversation, a fresh produce delivery brought through… and what I was offered was not just a cup of coffee…At risk of sounding like a line from Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually…. This is SO much more than a cup of coffee! There are 7 different beans to choose from depending on your ‘roast’ preference. I chose Ethiopian and received a mug… Normally I prefer a cup, (because I’m a fan of delicate drinking!) but this wasn’t a chunky hunk of china. It was plastic and yet it didn’t detract from the coffee taste at all. Absolutely delicious! I cannot think of a better place to escape from the rain and enjoy an hour or so…I might be coming back for tea…

In my opinion one of the most underrated places to get a coffee in Surrey. The head barista really knows his coffee and they have a great selection of cakes. I asked for an espresso but was told it would be more like an aeropress/drip style. I was happy with that as I have one at home. I was recommended strength 6 and have to say it was very tasty. For cake, I had the white chocolate, pistachio loaf which again, was very nice. Service was friendly, fast and informative. Can’t ask for much more. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place for cyclists to stop for a cup of coffee and a snack, or a full on brunch. Plenty of seats outside and 2 floors inside. There is a place to park bikes outside, too! Plenty of room all in all and no need to book in advance. Wide selection of cakes, pastries, scones and sandwiches, salads, what have you. Absolutely everything was delicious, and I loved your porridge. Thanks a lot, will definitely be back!

Lovely food and coffee in a beautiful old building. Upstairs there are sofas. Be aware that the staircase is a bit steep and there are low beams. We have been here a few times and I would recommend their pancakes. The atmosphere is great however if you go in the winter, make sure you wrap up warm as it is a very old building and the heating isn’t great. In the summer, they do also have a bit of outdoor space. I would definitely recommend.
