Top Cafes in Monk sherborne, Hampshire

Absolutely loved this pub. Great friendly owners and staff with REALLY good food. We ate there Saturday night and had a delicious authentic lucknow curry and went back on Sunday for what was one of the best roast dinners I’ve had.

Visited The White Horse following a Google trawl for a place for dinner during our weekend at Paulton's Park. Lots to choose from but settled on this pub as it looked like a true pub.

Very pleased we did. The menu was extensive (and then some) with lots of pub classics, winter warmers, fish dishes and an array of fab sounding curry choices. Enough to keep someone coming back for months! The children's menu was also very decent.

The service was efficient and welcoming and the pub had a real old fashioned drinking pub atmosphere (but with food as a key element). Have noticed some reviews staying service was slow, but we were booked in for 6pm and had no such issues. We were very impressed. However, when it came to us leaving some tables had been waiting for a while so perhaps service can be slow at peak times. I wouldn't complain about this though as food of this quality takes time! Plus it gives you time to have a other beer!!

The 'toad in the hole' was fantastic and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Our girls also happily put away the children's offerings and a pudding too.

Would happily revisit, but unsure when we will be in this neck of the woods again. Will however be highly recommending this to those we know in the Southampton area.

We were up on a weekend break & looked at reviews of local eateries. We were not disappointed with choosing to go here.
The staff were friendly & accommodating & the food was lovely. Jeff the cat topped it off.
I would not hesitate to return here on another occasion.
If I was to be fussy my only negative would be that it was a bit chilly. But that is being really critical.

This place is a fantastic old school pup/restaurant. As soon as you walk in the door there's a lovely open fire and you can almost smell the history in the place with the ghost of the past travelers easy to see 😉
But it's not the building or the wonderful atmosphere that's the talking point. This place is all about food. ( The menu is seasonal and subject to change)
All the food is cooked fresh from an extensive menu that caters for all. There's a Monday to Saturday menu of multiple choices and for anyone with an appetite I would highly recommend you try the ribs or if you get the chance the belly pork. The curries are all authentic and some really pack. a punch. The clam chowder from the starters Is off the chart.The Sunday roast is without a doubt one of the best you'll ever have from a pub/restaurant. The two landlords john and Gaye have been at the establishment for well over a decade John is the head chef and a lovely man who will mingle when he eventually gets a break from the kitchen. And Gaye is front of house making sure the whole thing runs like clockwork. lovely little gem hidden in the heart of Hampshire this place is well worth a visit for its food and its lovely warm atmosphere. The portions are ALL very generous so you'll go in hungry and come out happy 😊 They do have disabled access ♿ and cater for all.

Excellent food, especially the curry. Great choice of beers. Very friendly approachable owners and staff, loads of fascinating memorabilia to keep you busy reading.
