Sharon & the team are fantastic. Very supportive and care deeply about the children's education. My daughter started at Kumon almost 12 months ago and has gained in confidence, independence and improved her overall maths and English.

My two daughters started with Sharon at Kumon in 2021 after missing a lot of time in the classroom because of COVID. It took them a while to get into the swing of it, having homework everyday but very soon they started to exceed where they should be at school and grew more confident in their approach. As their confidence grew they started to really enjoy it! Sharon and the team have been wonderful and really supportive, even helped my eldest in her year 6 SATS. They are now both excelling in Maths at school, scoring way above average in progress tests.

My daughter joined Kumon 9 months ago but had a 4 months period of serious illness and missing classroom time. Sharon and her team were very supportive during this time. I did not think my daughter would catch up on her learning because of the nature of her illness. I had also noticed a change in her focus and attention. Sharon was amazing with her! She did not overwhelm her, she gave her enough work to get her confidence back. During days when she was tired, Sharon was so encouraging and occasionally said ‘she was doing better than she expected’. Now, her confidence is back. She has benefited immensely from the daily work that Sharon has set for her. She is excelling both in Maths and English. Her confidence in reading has grown considerably. I can’t thank you enough Sharon and the Team.

Our kids started with Kumon at the ages of 4 and 7. We were just coming out of COVID and like most children, their learning was negatively impacted by it. We signed up for Maths and English. In my experience, Kumon has helped them learn the basics and has given them a strong foundation, especially with their times tables. They are now smashing the Times Table Rock Star tasks set by their teachers at school. We also noticed a significant improvement in their reading abilities as they were able to move through their reading books at school very quickly.

For me one of the standout features of Kumon is the emphasis on self-discipline and independent learning. This has helped my kids' confidence in tackling challenging tasks at school(feedback we received at parents evening) and at home when doing their homework.

I must say that Sharon and the team are dedicated and play a pivotal role in the success of the program. Their unwavering support, encouragement, and also the personalised feedback reports that Sharon sends to us regularly are significant to the overall positive experience.

I also love how they celebrate their achievements, Sharon always has a box of prizes which encourages and motivates the kids when they move on to the next level.

Lastly, as a full-time working parent, I appreciate the flexibility that the Kumon Urmston Centre offers, allowing the kids to attend classes at a pace that suits our family's schedule and multiple extracurricular activities that the kids are involved in.

Sharon has gone above and beyond getting to know both kids individual interests and personalities so that she can engage them in their learning. Whilst the Kumon method is designed to encourage children to work above their age range our reasons for choosing Kumon were to consolidate the basics that were missed during covid and to build our kids confidence in subjects they don’t find naturally easy. Sharon instantly understood this and has adapted the programme to suit each child and their learning needs ie. lots of regular encouraging messages to the one who lacks confidence and shorter worksheets for the one that is dyslexic as Sharon quickly recognised that he tires quickly.
Kumon isn’t just for those wanting to support their children in achieving high grades at school. We have found the repetitive ‘over learning’ style of Kumon is perfect for dyslexic children and also helps build a childs own belief in their abilities. Plus having set work to do at home takes the stress away for us parents to try and figure out where our kids learning gaps are and what we can do to support them.
I can’t thank Sharon and her team enough. She is responsive to all our (many) questions and regularly provides updates on our kids learning. Her positive and engaged nature is also reflected within her team evidence by the safe learning space they have created at Kumon.
