(non-trade) I have always had a positive experience using Young's. They are helpful and more than happy to show me products out the back if I as unsure. Owen was particularly helpful and very cheerful, with nothing being too much trouble for him. What's even better it is just down the road from us. Highly recommended!

We have visited Youngs Builders Merchants in Dymchurch about 15 times in the last 5 months as we have recently bought a property in the area. We have purchased everything from mixed paints, decorating stuff, timber and a tonne of pebbles. Every visit, whether we go together or on our own, has been an absolute joy! We have mainly dealt with Liam who is so polite, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He listens, advises and makes you feel like you are the only client in the store that matters. It is such a refreshing change to be spoken to without being made to feel like an idiot. As a woman of a certain age, when you go to a builders merchants often you are not taken seriously. However, Liam and all the staff at Youngs, are SO courteous, respectful always with an appropriate amount of humour. The product prices at Youngs are reasonable (some items have been cheaper than B&Q and Homebase) and not forgetting the delivery drivers who are really lovely too. We actually look forward to going to Youngs - to pick up bits and pieces, have a chat and a coffee, absolutely brilliant place, thank you from both of us 😁

DIYer's doing a decking project. Well known builders Merchants let us down promising Saturday delivery as the web site does that !?!?! Called Young's Friday and they could fit us in Saturday with two jumbo bags of 20mm gravel to Hythe. Good price as well. Confident, polite delivery driver who put the bags down where we wanted. Even with the weekend's heat, able to shift in around 4 hrs. Looks good - shame covering with decking but looked shoddy with just weed fabric. Good coverage- supposed 14sq m per bag at 2 inch depth so 2 bags enough with some left over. Decking is an L-shape overall extending nearly 10m on one side. It is not washed but best description when sprayed with a hose - it is very like local beach shingle.

Very happy with Youngs, we were two amateur DIYers coming in for advice on how to lay an artificial lawn and the member of staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, and took his time explaining and helping us calculate how many materials we needed based on our rough draft. Delivery was also good, 2 days after ordering and the driver was helpfully able to deposit our 4 bags of sub base over our fence with the crane, saving us a lot of wheelbarrow'ing. Would definitely use Youngs again for other garden and house projects.
