The Best Cafes in Dorking, Surrey, United Kingdom (2025)

Not being from the area, I asked a local where is best to go as I had a few hours to kill. They pointed me in the direction of Mullins. I was greeting by great customer service and even better food, iced coffee which was perfect and you can tell they do put a lot of care into their food and their relationships with customers. Whilst sitting here there were people coming in just to say hi to the staff! Great atmosphere and if you are travelling through Dorking, it’s definitely worth to stop.

Love how much history is packed into this little coffee shop. The staff was so friendly and happy to have so many people in their cafe. Quick service and the food was delicious. Many veggie and vegan options for food. Indoor and some outdoor seating. They give you a delicious piece of ginger cake with your hot drink it was very tasty.

We had lunch in the lovely Mullins before Christmas and it was excellent! great food, great service and lovely atmosphere! Thank you guys!

What a hidden 💎 very unique idea and that’s why I love it, it differs from all the standard cafes in the area. It’s definitely the cutest little countryside cafe that I’d recommend to everyone!! The attention to detail can be seen everywhere, you can see a lot of care and thought has gone into this. The cakes are delicious and homemade ice-cream (!!??) was a great hit. The lady who lives there also makes all the food herself which is very impressive. Coffee also came with latte art which is always a plus. Will definitely be back!

I’m so pleased we took a spontaneous trip out to visit brewbird! The most gorgeous, secluded, peaceful coffee spot. The coffee was delicious and my toddlers ADORED their hot chocolate with marshmallows! So many lovely touches, such as bringing over beautiful wooden hearts for the children to colour and hang In the archway to keep them busy. How lovely to see so many walkers, families and doggies coming and going. There was such a lovely buzz. We will CERTAINLY be back! ❤️

If you’re in the Surrey Hills, BrewBird is an absolute must-visit! Susie, the owner, infuses this charming coffee van with her passion and warmth, creating a delightful hidden gem for all who wander by. Her homemade sweet treats (often using foraged local fruits) and savory lunch options are simply delicious. On a sunnier day I will try the homemade ice cream. The little touches—beautiful flower gardens, a cozy hanging love seat, lamb’s wool rugs on the benches, and fresh-cut flower posies on each table—make it an inviting and memorable stop. Plus, the yummy treats for furry friends are a wonderful bonus. BrewBird is a true testament to the joy of local, homemade goodness. Don’t miss out… we’ll certainly be back for a visit whilst out on a stomp in the woods again soon!

Incredible cakes, sweet and savoury tarts, soups and even home-made ice cream. Great coffee two. A fire and blankets on cold days and covered benches on rainy ones. Garden games, reading material and crafts often on-hand. A really beautiful spot and always a friendly welcome from the lovely owners and their gorgeous dog. The walking around here is brilliant, it’s a fun steep path up to Wolvens Lane with great views (and on to Leith Hill and/or Coldharbour from there if you have time). Or there are flatter walks to Dorking and Westcott. Strongly recommend for light lunch or coffee and cake with friends or family :)

Love this little cafe. Myself and my husband have breakfast from here most weekends. Very reasonably priced, very friendly staff especially Nicki, who is always around to chat and help of needed. The food is of a very high standard, especially the bread and sausages. Lovely little independent business. Highly recommended.

Had the best full English I've had in a long time! Lovely location and fortunate with the sun out, lovely sitting outside in the little square. The food is of a very high standard and the service was wonderful, lovely lady looked after us today. Would highly recommend and will be going back soon ourselves.

Decided to stop off for breakfast (early lunch!). I had a bacon & sausage bap ... sausage was lovely! My other half had the full English and didn't speak until he'd finished! Both had tea but lovely milkshakes (with cream) were available. Staff were very welcoming, polite & nothing was any trouble. Definitely will go back ⭐️

I had the pleasure to deal with the team this Saturday 7th September after my rear hub kept trying to kill me, after having a lovely coffee and Victoria sponge I asked for some advice about what might be the cause and without hesitation they offered to bring it in and have a look, after striping the freehiub and removing the spacer and excessive grease I was back on myway and happy to say with a bike no longer trying to kill me all for the pricely sum of a coffee. To me this is everything a LBS should be my first time visiting but certainly not my last thanks team. Henry

Popped in to ask advice on newly purchased cycling shoes. The gentleman in the service centre could not have been more helpful and happily attached the cleats. Highly recommend

It's a bike shop and cafe for all things bikes, a good destination for cyclists and a great little cafe, lovely flat breads and The New York Bagel is an absolute delight, great coffee and a good selection of cakes, sit inside or in their cosy outside sitting area. It's a hidden little gem.

What a great find!! Lovely outdoor area undercover and uncovered to enjoy the sun. It's a great business model with a coffee shop and bike shop in one. They had lovely cake on offer and a great range of coffee's too as well as sandwiches etc etc. There's also a lovely touch of bike locks for customers to use whilst in the shop. Well worth a visit if you're in and around Dorking in the Box Hill/Ranmore Common Area👍👌

I’ve lived in Dorking for just over a year and walked past this little cafe every single day, always looked in but sometimes it’s just a bit busy for me as I start work early, made me even more curious! Definitely waited too long to try it out!! I love their coffee! Not sure but I think it might be Lavazza!? This place is great! I can taste the freshness of the food every time, I just bought an Italian Herb Chicken baguette but I’ll have to save half for a bit later eheh.. I saw in a previous review that they are a bit pricey, I don’t think so at all, the food is delicious and whenever I go there I don’t even look at the price because I know what I’m getting is so worth it!! :D

Fabulous little take away breakfast and lunch shop located on South Street. Great for grabbing a bacon sandwich and coffee on the go. Friendly staff with a five star food hygiene rating.

Delightful find when visiting Dorking. Very light and airy cafe with good access for wheelchairs, pushchairs etc and enough space inside for them. Delicious soup and roll, with the option of having the roll warmed. Since I had only ordered a soup I received a complimentary glass of tap water. Cafe is staffed by young people with learning difficulties. I would definitely return when next in Dorking

I visited here worse for wear after coming off my bike. The staff were superb, they patched me up and then served up a fine coffee and cake. The staff and management were very kind and lifted my spirits on an otherwise painful day. Will definitely return when next in the area and hopefully, minus injuries.

I stumbled upon Aldag Charity Cups & Co during my first visit to Dorking, and what a delightful find it was! Walking down the High Street, my hunger led me to explore a random cafe, and I'm so glad I did. The charming appearance of the cafe caught my eye, and little did I know, it had a heartwarming mission of employing individuals with learning difficulties/disabilities. Although I'm quite particular about food, I decided to give it a try, and I must say, I wasn't disappointed. The flavors were on point, and even my discerning taste buds were won over. The standout for me was the sorbet, a burst of amazing flavors that left me wishing for a bigger serving – it was that good! The staff at Aldag Charity Cups & Co were not only well presented but also incredibly polite. The lady who seemed to be overseeing things was exceptionally sweet and attentive, making the dining experience all the more pleasant. The sincerity of the staff and the positive atmosphere they created added to the overall appeal of the cafe. If fate brings me back to the area, there's no doubt I'd make a return visit to Aldag Charity Cups & Co. It would be for that irresistible sorbet and a refreshing iced coffee. This cafe is a true gem, not just for its culinary offerings but for the positive impact it makes in the community.

I've visited for lunch and dinner on a number of occasions now, and always the food and service are just excellent. The staff are warm and attentive, without being over friendly. But when you open up a conversion yourself, they are more than happy to engage with you for a chat. The food is without fail both delicious and beautifully presented. Great wine choices too. It's a restaurant that seems to like to play down its presence in the town - there's no shouting about special offers on social media. And they've never asked us to do a review (which is partly why I'm doing one!) But the truth is that it's my absolute favourite restaurant in Dorking or anywhere nearby.

Gorgeous restaurant, much bigger than you expect! As a non-drinker I HIGHLY recommend the peach juice - that was a total delight! The food was great, service was quick, tasty, healthy, fresh. I had the seabream for main which was beautiful and the Tirimisu was gorgeous. My friend had pistachio ice cream which was also delicious! Highly recommend for a special meal or occasion.

The coffee here was the BEST coffee I have had in a VERY long time! Cakes looked excellent too but will have to come back for those another day!

This is just a refreshing break of the hustle and bustle of the High Street, it feels like an oasis of calm, and a friendly space where you can enjoy a cup or two by yourself or with friends. I really enjoyed having a cuppa here

The coffee was excellent and I enjoyed sitting outside watching the world go by. All of the staff were very friendly. If you love coffee then I highly recommend. They also had a good looking selection of treats too.

Fantastic local, family owned coffee shop. As a self confessed coffee snob, this is by-far my favourite coffee shop. The staff are excellent, always friendly and take care and attention when creating their masterpieces. The coffee is amazing- I drink cortado’s and whenever I order one elsewhere, I’m so disappointed! The sweet treats are wonderful. They have a selection of classics (brownies, tiffins, granola slices, pastries ect) but also have incredible fancier options to indulge in (opera cakes, cheesecakes, Mille-feuille, macarons ect). The prices are so reasonable, especially for the quality served. I always recommend this place to my clients. The only danger of this place is that I work on the high street and can’t help but visit once a day 🙃

Great bacon sausage and egg baguette and latte coffee. Very welcoming staff and inside space. Missed our bus so a lucky find for mid day stack. Does Burgers and jacket spuds all at reasonable price.

Really nice breakfast, accommodated 15 of us with ease, had no issue adding another breakfast, or swapping items, all came out within minutes. Just over a tenner each with coffees.

I’ve been a couple of times to this cafe and it’s my absolute favourite!!! The food is bloody lovely and the service is also great! Well worth the money! Highly recommend. Won’t go anywhere else for a breakfast when I want a cooked breakfast! Top notch!

First time to this cafè as I was in there area. Very nice cafè with good social distance measures in place. I ordered ham, egg & chips and was nicely surprised to see I got proper ham (thick ham) not the thin ham from the packs. Prices are fair and food is a good standard. Staff are friendly. If your in the area you should pop in.

We had a wonderful dinner. It has a pleasant atmosphere and tasty food, though it is slightly overpriced. The service was excellent.

Where to start! Absolute gem of a find in Dorking. The food is a 10/10, we eat at a lot of Turkish places, this new find tops them all. Very exciting for us 😅 Staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Music is lovely, sets a laid back mood. Even served Turkish baklavas and authentic Turkish tea to finish. Just wonderful…see you next week!!

Popped in for a coffee. The cappuccino and the frappe were both lovely. Waitress took her time with us and gave advice as to what she'd pick. She was right. Friendly staff. Halloween look inside with a Christmassy smell was perfect to have a relaxing moment.
