You may have seen this eclectic looking salon as you drive down Hermitage road… and once you walk through the door, the beautiful differences continue. The place is not only unique in its decor, but also in the ambience and feel. There is a genuine warm welcome by the staff inside and they seem to ‘jump on board’ with whatever hair creation you want, from a simple trim to something more elaborate. What also impresses me greatly, is they are not afraid to deploy unconventional cutting techniques to get the look you want. In addition to that, their knowledge of hairdressing/ barbering is exceptional and will be honest with what is good for your hair and what isn’t whilst doing their best to achieve the look you want. From the moment i walked into Farleys i absolutely loved it.. what a cool salon . I had my dreadlock maintenance with Michelle and I am so happy with the service I received. Sam did my style cut. Heavenly hair wash and a lovely cut with a bouncy blow dry. Very pleased and hair feels lush. Lovely creamy hot chocolate and a great community feel as we chatted to the client and stylist next to us too.

I used to be a regular in London but I've not been to a Toni & Guy salon for 10+ years and I have always wanted to go back because I've always been more than satisfied with their service. I am finally able to return to Toni & Guy and I couldn't have picked a better branch than Hitchin. The lady on reception was friendly and the guy that washed my hair gave me an incredible scalp massage! Anne Marie was my stylist and listened to everything I said during the consultation and looked at my pictures for reference. We both agreed on the best cut for me. She really took in to account my unruly curly/wavy hair and created a cut and style that I truly love. I am so happy I have booked in for another appointment with Anne Marie in 6 weeks. Thanks to the whole team for making it such a great experience! It reminds me of why I love Toni and Guy so much.

I had my haircut for the first time at this branch with Donna and it is honestly the best haircut I have ever had! Donna knew exactly what I needed and what would suit me, I never knew that my hair could look this good. Super happy and highly recommend!

I got a full head of highlights, toner, cut and blow dry by the amazing Charmaine yesterday and I am absolutely in love. She always does the best job, and knows exactly what I want with my hair and does it to perfection! The atmosphere in Alta is amazing, everyone is so lovely!!!

I was looking at a new hairdressers and this was the perfect one! For started the atmosphere was warm and comfortable and the staff were all so lovely! I had Char do my hair and she was with me the whole day getting my hair to perfection for me. She was explaining everything in detail trying to achieve the best possible. 10/10 recommend Glo & Blo always. I've used their sunbeds occasionally (best beds around in my opinion), and I use them for laser hair removal which is 100% pain free for me. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. So quick and easy, great results, and top service!

I've been coming to glo and blo to see Katherine for years for my lashes and waxing and today went for a full body massage as a treat for my birthday from my husband. I haven't had a massage in at least 15 years! The room and music was beautiful and Katherine was as professional as always and has made me feel so relaxed and distressed. Absolutely best service and atmosphere from start to finish! I’m a huge fan of Jordan and Maisie for years and years now and followed them to Chop It, Hitchin. So pleased I did. Jordan advised me my current haircolour and money-piece and I received and still do receive lots of compliments for it. Looking forward to my next colour and cut. The salon feels like a beautiful living room and going for a treatment is like catching up with friends. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

I have never had such a good hairdresser as Jordan at Chop it like it's Hot. She has been cutting my hair for more than 2 years and I've always been completely delighted - never had a bad hair cut from her, and my hair is awkward hair. She really is the best ever. Not only is she a fantastic hairdresser, her personal skills are amazing too. She listens carefully to my preferences, takes everything on board but isn't afraid to gently add in her professional advice and knowledge which is welcome. As well as being great professionally, Jordan is a lovely bubbly caring person. She and Maisie have given their new salon a fantastic welcoming vibe and they deserve all their success they have found. 1000% recommend.

Absolutely loved my first visit to Chop it Like it's Hot! Maisie and Jordan were both so lovely. Jordan did my mum's hair who was super pleased with it! And Maisie brought my vision to life of a pixie style shag with baby fringe. The entire vibe is great in there - super chill and not intimidating at all. Already got my next appointment booked in!

A week ago I got my hair cut short from very long and it didn't turn out well. I wanted a trendy choppy cut but looked more like my 80 year old mum :-(. Maisie at Chop it Like Its Hot was recommended by 2 friends with fab short cuts by Maisie herself. So today with her expertise and magic scissors and clippers she has transformed my hair into the trendy choppy cut that I have thus far just dreamed of and I LOVE IT! Best short cut I have EVER had and the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable. Maisie is so friendly and welcoming and knows exactly what you want when you try to explain how you want your cut to look. This gal gets short hair! The salon has a lovely laid back friendly vibe, the coffee is great and there's even the cutest resident dog to make a fuss of. Thank you so much Maisie, life saver! Looks like, after literally decades of disappointment, I've found my forever stylist! See you in 5 weeks x

Had a gorgeous relaxing facial today, time taken to do before & after photos which really showed the quality of products used, & could see a real difference. Zoe is very welcoming & your made to feel very comfortable unlike some salons, very professional & won’t hesitate to go back.

Added to this the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere in the salon is creative and relaxing . The establishment of this new salon in Hitchin is very exciting as Zoe brings with her a wealth of varied experience with her. The best find ever. A jewel. Today was my first visit. I had a colour and cut with Julia and my goodness I was not disappointed. She is one skilled lady! Julia was extremely respectful to a previous bad experience I had at another hairdressers, so I was a little apprehensive, but Julia listened to me, addressed my needs and smashed all expectations. I have never had my hair look so good. She's a true perfectionist. I left feeling the best I have felt in months and my hair looks amazing and in a much much better condition - its never looked so good. Julia , Liam and all the team are great here! I spent a long time finding a hairdressers I like when I moved to Hitchin. Having tried most in the area and previously getting my hair done in the city I finally settled and even though I’ve moved away I still go back. The salon is a lovely friendly chilled place. I have nightmare hair that’s prone to knots and has been all my life but Julia highlights/colours and styles it and it always look fabulous when I walk out (even if I do say so myself 😜) thank you

I absolutely loved my experience here! I came with my mother for our consecutive appointments with Julia and we were both very pleased with the result, and how friendly she was (as was her apprentice!). I've never had anyone style my curly hair as amazingly as Julia did, and she even talked me through how to style it myself in the future! She really listened to how I wanted my hair, in terms of length, and I ended up with exactly what I had wanted! She also did a side fringe for my mother, which turned out looking lovely! I would highly recommend this place!

I have been going to Clare for around 2 years now for lash extensions and gel nails, and I could not recommend her more. Clare is such a positive spirit and provides a comfortable, luxurious salon experience. Her nail art is amazing and she is able to bring any idea or picture to life. Clare takes a genuine interest in all of her clients, making them feel valued, and she feels like a friend now.

I’ve been using Clare for about 6 years, for gel nails with some fabulous designs, and eye lash tint, Clare then introduced me to eyelash lift and I haven’t looked back, and she always does a wonderful job on our eyebrows too. Highly recommend her.

I was trained by the talented Claire in gel nails, her training was so amazing, nothing missed, and very comfortable settings. My manual was packed with information. I’ve also received ongoing support after my training which I needed and found so helpful. I’d highly recommend Claire for any training she offers.
