This was my 3rd stay at Designate @ the gate. My first time was for a hen weekend (12 of us) post covid and we had the most amazing time. Party in the beach garden with great food and drinks. 2nd time with the other half, we had a lovely relaxing weekend and this time with my 2 daughters who loved the quirky/cosy left room. We enjoyed a pack lunch from Kirsty on our walk and ate at The Fishpond and The Remarkable Hare, both recommended. I’ll definitely be back for a 4th time. Love it here xx

Recently hired Designate for my husband's birthday and it was the perfect venue! Kirstie and Andy were excellent hosts- helpful, welcoming and good fun! We all had a great night. Would highly recommend!

Booked Designate at The Gate for my Mothers 90th birthday party. We also booked the three adjoining rooms for some of our family to stay at. Could not have booked a better venue. Kirsty and her partner were so accommodating and could not do enough to ensure the event was memorable! Went out of their way to help us in any way they could. Perfect venue for a family occasion and the outside area is fabulous as were the indoor facilities. The buffet provided by Kirsty was perfect with plenty of choice. The bar was well stocked and carried and extensive range of drinks. Everyone young and old loved the venue and the food . They also felt very welcomed by the hosts. We have organised many family events and this one could not be faulted in any way. 100% recommend!!
