Today was my son’s GCSE results day and I was surprised at such amazing results. school prepares you for a grade 5 whereas Excel Academics pushes you to get a grade 9. My son improved by 4 grades in English literature by working with Rachel to overcome his weaknesses and also improved by 2 grades in maths. They are always available to help students and regularly monitor their progress while also informing parents of any strengths and weaknesses of their child. All the staff are very supportive, helpful and experienced in teaching. I really recommend Excel Academics for a bright future for your children.

My daughter attended excel only for a short period of time and gained a lot. The tutors are amazing. She thoroughly enjoyed every lesson and always had something to share when she got home. She passed her 11 plus due to the hard work positiveness and dedication excel had to offer.

I’ve been coming here for more than 5 years and Rachel is just amazing. Her lessons are very good and interactive as she makes sure each student reaches the best they can achieve and she is always there to support you personally. The other tutors are good too as they got really good grades in their GCSEs and A Levels- so Rachel makes sure her students get the most out of her service.

If your child needs a tutor I would highly recommend this centre. The tutor was professional, and approached every lesson with high quality resources and teaching tips, different to those given by teachers at school. My son attended lessons to support him in the run up and throughout his GCSE exams and it helped build his confidence when it came to answering the questions.

My son struggled with confidence in maths and was worried about his upcoming year 6 SATs. Shazia and Kay at Kip McGrath really helped him on his journey, I watched him go from an anxious young boy to a boy who shines with confidence and believes he can achieve anything within weeks of tuition at Kip McGrath. If you’re seeking a tutor to support your child with the grammar school entrance exam, I’d 100 percent recommend Jack at Tutor First. Jack provided a complimentary session to assess if our son had the academic ability for the school and exam, midway through year three. We decided to commence sending our son to Jack for one hour a week from the start of year four. Initially, Jack supported our son with foundation work, with a particular focus on handwriting. Most importantly he built a great rapport with our son. Jack’s approach was very tailored and he was also very good at advising how we could support our son at home too. Over the past two years, there’s never been lots of homework or pressure, just constant support and encouragement. Even in the weeks nearing the exam, it was very relaxed. What impressed me the most, besides Jack’s ability to understand his students, was his commitment to mental health support and creating an inclusive, supportive and fun community. With Jack’s support our son met the standard required for the grammar school.

I was sceptical about online tutoring for my son who is due to sit his 11+ in September. I need not worry though as the sessions with Mandy are engaging and inclusive, the workbook convent and approach is fantastic. George has gone from strength to strength at school with the additional learning and has grown in confidence so much that whatever the outcome of his 11+ i could never regret using heckmondwike tutors. My daughter was tutored by Mandy, she loved the classes, which were well paced and interesting. Regular tests are available to assess where children are amongst their peers so as to manage expectations of success in entrance exams. An end of year exam was also available to sit under strict conditions at Morley town hall, I found this really helpful to prepare my daughter for what to expect on the day of the proper exam. My daughter aced her sats which I’m sure was in part due to the tuition, so even if they don’t get into grammar school I don’t think it could ever be classed as wasted money. She did however also obtain a place in HGS and was thrilled and is thriving at the school.

I found Mark incredibly good and efficient teacher. His quality of making children complacent during the time when controlling nerve is a challenging task is superb and remarkable. I feel big difference in my son skills compared with his first day. Amazing tutoring service! Unlike many I’ve tried before, their ethos and actions align. There’s always someone available to talk to and reply to you when you have any issues. Teachers are very knowledgeable in their subjects and have many years of experience, not only in their subjects but how GCSEs are marked and what’s needed for the child to understand the exams set up.
