I would highly recommend Satchel Learning. Richard is very supportive and provide great feedback about my son progression. Both myself & my husband are working full time and we struggle to identify what & how to teach my kid ( I.e - School teaching methodology etc) , then I contacted Richard. I can see real improvement and progression in my son’s education…He teaches both Maths and English. It’s making our life easier. Satchel Learning has been great in helping my son prepare for his 11+ exams in a short time frame as we started quite late. This is the second time I have used the satchel classes for 11 plus tuition for my children since my first experience with satchel led to my daughter gaining a very comfortable place at crossley Heath grammar school. Please note this was the only tuition she used. Richard’s planning of the materials tailored to my child’s needs is really helpful and improved my child’s weak areas and most importantly my son loves coming here. As a parent I am always assured and updated my child’s progress but Richard is always supportive of any queries/ help I need. The English gcse classes are also quite popular and I will be putting my child’s name down for these gcse.

My daughter was tutored by Mandy, she loved the classes, which were well paced and interesting. Regular tests are available to assess where children are amongst their peers so as to manage expectations of success in entrance exams. An end of year exam was also available to sit under strict conditions at Morley town hall, I found this really helpful to prepare my daughter for what to expect on the day of the proper exam. My daughter aced her sats which I’m sure was in part due to the tuition, so even if they don’t get into grammar school I don’t think it could ever be classed as wasted money. She did however also obtain a place in HGS and was thrilled and is thriving at the school.

Today was my son’s GCSE results day and I was surprised at such amazing results. school prepares you for a grade 5 whereas Excel Academics pushes you to get a grade 9. My son improved by 4 grades in English literature by working with Rachel to overcome his weaknesses and also improved by 2 grades in maths. They are always available to help students and regularly monitor their progress while also informing parents of any strengths and weaknesses of their child. We are satisfied with the service (tuitioning) of the EducateFirst Tuition Centre. Our daughter is among other children who came to learn, listen and think about a range of topics. She learns to respond to every question and listen to other children answers. It is definitely interactive learning due to small groups and calm environment. Compare to online home learning with lot's of distraction around, our daughter works better with other children in a group.

Let me start by saying that it is really hard to get a good private tutor these days. Most of them don't know the first thing about teaching and are just trying to make a few extra quid on the side. But I can say that the tutors at this centre are brilliant. I made an appointment to visit the centre and then went ahead and signed up after I saw how engaging the students were and the staff were very helpful. So far it has been a good decision and even the wife was impressed with how much the kids enjoyed it when she went to pick them up. The tutor showed the work done in the lessons and we could see that this was worthwhile. We are committed parents and plan to continue with the tutoring at the Educate First tutoring centre in Huddersfield as long as it continues to benefit the kids.

If you’re seeking a tutor to support your child with the grammar school entrance exam, I’d 100 percent recommend Jack at Tutor First. Jack provided a complimentary session to assess if our son had the academic ability for the school and exam, midway through year three. We decided to commence sending our son to Jack for one hour a week from the start of year four. Initially, Jack supported our son with foundation work, with a particular focus on handwriting. Most importantly he built a great rapport with our son. Jack’s approach was very tailored and he was also very good at advising how we could support our son at home too. Over the past two years, there’s never been lots of homework or pressure, just constant support and encouragement. Even in the weeks nearing the exam, it was very relaxed. What impressed me the most, besides Jack’s ability to understand his students, was his commitment to mental health support and creating an inclusive, supportive and fun community. With Jack’s support our son met the standard required for the grammar school.

My son came here for extra help on Maths GCSE as he needed a grade 5 to get into the course he had chosen but in his mock exams he kept getting a 3. After joining this place his next set of mock exams he jumped to a grade 4 and now he has got his actual results for GCSE and he has Ma Sha Allah smashes it with a grade 5 which was the highest he could get. My son was upset that I had signed him up for coming however once he got to tuition time he settled right in and made a friend. Staff had a positive attitude and welcomed Zinny and put him at ease, Zinny would ask if he was going everyday and was upset on days that they were closed. They had plenty to do and everyday was exciting with new things to do. It was brilliant as I'm unable to do activities everyday with him this was a brilliant as he could let of steam and run around. My Son absolutely loved the summer club even though I was bit anxious before sending as he’s got additional needs but he was absolutely fine, he was happy & excited going to the club . Staff was amazing they kept him engaged in all the activities he likes & also were really good communicating & supportive with him. They let him involved in group activities . They made sure he was having good time 😊 Thank you again for having this club & opportunity for all the children. My son can’t wait to come back again as he still talks about the club & remembers .

Tuition Time has helped me massively throughout my academic journey. I started in year 6 to help me pass my sats and with the help of the amazing teachers here i managed to pass them. I then joined again later and i am now in year 11 to help pass my GCSEs. The teachers once again have not let me down and supported me both academically and in my social life too.
