The Best Cafes in Ash Green, Surrey, United Kingdom (2025)

So staying in Guildford for a few days. I wanted to try something different other than McDonald's or your standard chain. I found this after searching Google with great reviews, I knew I was expecting high things. Walking in it's a great atmosphere. I order the breakfast baguette with chips. I didn't have to wait too long and the portion size was great and not to much and not too little. There is an outside area with a roof to cover from rain etc. Also, the inside is nice and very well decorated. There is one toilet and it also has baby changing facilities. Overall, I really recommend and worth having a trip too, maybe a short walk from town but well worth it. If I'm back in Guildford, I'll be back.

We love this place. A hybrid of service (counter, table &/or both) which never disappoints; they’re quietly attentive. The ingredients are expensive, the portions are generous & the prices are very reasonable. Coffee is exceptional. We just love it all.

I met friends there on Monday and it was so lovely. The gentleman was so patient and friendly. The sandwiches were huge and so tasty best I've had. We also had cake and the choice was hard to make as they all looked so good. Choice made and they didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend here!

Brilliant place. Well set out. Very dog friendly. Great staff, great food. It has everything you need even a dog washing station and ice-cream. My dog had a venison chew supplied by them. Ate it so fast only managed to get her picking her lips at the end.

We came here for lunch after a walk around Horsell common. My parents have been here multiple times, but this was my first visit and I will definitely be returning. I have coeliac disease, but they advised that the allergens could be found online and that they had gluten free bread and buns to substitute. They also confirmed the chips are fried separate so are safe to eat. Food was delicious and reasonably priced, plenty of choice. They also have a dog menu, which is a nice touch.

Great atmosphere and food. Good portions and reasonable price. However waitering service could be improved. Used cutlery and plates from previous customers were not cleared before we sat down in the cabin. We had to ask for someone to clear it when we were served our food despite waiters being available to clear it. Cutlery was not provided with the food, so I had to get it myself. The station nearest to us was not kept full, I had to ask for the manager for cutlery and to top it up. Tip for improvement: Waiters to clear tables more efficiently by prioritising tables people are sat at before clearing empty tables.

Great place to go for breakfast, then followed by a nice walk along the amazing wetlands! Parking is great and free. There is loads of room outside including awesome outdoor pods which we used last time. The food is really nice and priced fairly. My personal tip is to arrive just after it opens, or around 9:30 - it’s not very busy then, and has a brilliant atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly too.

The food was amazing and staff were great, they accommodated to my dietary needs without hesitation(which are not the easiest to accommodate to!). The food tasted great and the service was top notch. Not forgetting this cafe makes the best coffee I’ve ever had and the staff are always happy to help if you’re not sure what to choose from the menu. Great experience 10/10

Superb breakfasts and coffee, we had dirty breakfast fries, half English, pancakes and eggs benedict. Everyone loved their food, really friendly service and great atmosphere. We will be back to try the rest of the menu 😋

Had been meaning to visit for a while but this morning saw my first visit. It will not be my last. Excellent filter coffee and Eggs Benedict. Great friendly service. What a perfect way to start a Tuesday!!

I go to Natters for a filter coffee and a cake every day and have done so for many years. The best ''Guest' filter coffee is precision made at the table, the cakes (my favourite are Tiffins) are Vegan. The coffee and all their cakes are excellent. The young staff are friendly, kind and hard working. When it's very busy there can be a delay but it's worth the wait. The best place for coffee in the area.

The milkshakes are always amazing here and the breakfast menu and food is great!!! The staff are always so friendly as well!

Went there with friends and family for Saturday brunch 👌 Great, cozy kid friendly atmosphere and very friendly members of staff. We ordered the following: - Egg royal - Veggie light - Toasted croissant with cheese and tomato - Kids Pancake with ice cream and maple syrup - Freshly baked butter croissant ( it was literally freshly baked as they ran out of them 😊) - Chocolate milkshake - Cappuccino - Flat white - Fresh orange juice ( well it wasn’t a freshly squeezed one as I expected)

Small Café, fast and friendly service, good quality food. As it was quite full, atmosphere was noisy, with all the people chatting plus music running in the background as well. Important: A service charge of 10% is added to the prices displayed on the menu

As for the coffee, I always like mine prepared a little differently than most, and they never fail to deliver an amazing taste every time. What truly makes this café special is the friendly and welcoming team. Today, in particular, I was impressed by Bogdan, a kind Ukrainian barista who has been working here for a while. His warm service and attention to detail finally inspired me to leave a well-deserved positive review and write a few kind words about this wonderful place. Such a great coffee shop. My husband is a coffee snob and highly recommends the authentic and variety of coffee here. The people were very friendly as well. Only lost a star because there really isn't any seating (I understand it is limited to their space) but great idea to have two ordering stations to keep the shop from overcrowding. Wish there was one closer to us!

We had a lovely time visiting Canopy Coffee. The smoothies were great, and the toasties were perfect for our lunch stop. Staff were friendly and definitely recommended.

Lovely food and coffee in a beautiful old building. Upstairs there are sofas. Be aware that the staircase is a bit steep and there are low beams. We have been here a few times and I would recommend their pancakes. The atmosphere is great however if you go in the winter, make sure you wrap up warm as it is a very old building and the heating isn’t great. In the summer, they do also have a bit of outdoor space. I would definitely recommend.

In my opinion one of the most underrated places to get a coffee in Surrey. The head barista really knows his coffee and they have a great selection of cakes. I asked for an espresso but was told it would be more like an aeropress/drip style. I was happy with that as I have one at home. I was recommended strength 6 and have to say it was very tasty. For cake, I had the white chocolate, pistachio loaf which again, was very nice. Service was friendly, fast and informative. Can’t ask for much more. Highly recommend.

What an incredible, yet somewhat accidental find! Pinnocks is the most wonderful little cafe in the heart of Ripley. I wanted only to find a quick cup of coffee but what I found was an exquisite beamed ceiling and slate tiled floor, lovely farmhouse tables, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful foods, perfect for a light lunch. There’s the gentle hum of conversation, a fresh produce delivery brought through… and what I was offered was not just a cup of coffee…At risk of sounding like a line from Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually…. This is SO much more than a cup of coffee! There are 7 different beans to choose from depending on your ‘roast’ preference. I chose Ethiopian and received a mug… Normally I prefer a cup, (because I’m a fan of delicate drinking!) but this wasn’t a chunky hunk of china. It was plastic and yet it didn’t detract from the coffee taste at all. Absolutely delicious! I cannot think of a better place to escape from the rain and enjoy an hour or so…I might be coming back for tea…

All round great food and service, had a breakfast and price is about what you expect to pay these days. I haven’t tried anything other than the breakfast off the menu. I have visited a few times and it’s very consistent on quality and service as a cafe goes. Well worth a visit if you are hungry for some good honest food.

As a tourist, this Café seems pretty nice to eat a typical English breakfast. Many variants are available and you can even customise your own breakfast. The place is pretty busy but the turnover looks fast so I easily found a place to sit down. Great experience !

I love that you have such a great choice of small plates and large dinners along with a good selection of yummy cakes.

We had a great experience here the other day. This cafe restaurant was busy so we had to park a newlands corner across the road. The staff were friendly and even though it was busy the service was quick. We both ordered burgers for lunch, which cost £16 each. My own burger was the plucky pheasant beef burger, with cheddar and chilli jam. This was a mighty burger, that had a great taste, texture and was filled with toppings. It came with crispy french fries and a salad. Loved this burger! My other half ordered the Southern fried chicken burger which was also good, though not as epic as the beef burger. Worth knowing this is a dog friendly cafe, and at busy times like this there were about 10 dogs in the tented area where we were seated. All well behaved and a joy to see 😀 Updating based on our second trip here, as ever great atmosphere and place to get some excellent food. This time around I had a Moroccan lamb sandwich which was superbly tasty, my other half had the chicken panini which she wasn't too impressed by. The salad dressing looked a bit strange but worked well flavour wise . We sat indoors to order lunch, it was cosy, the staff were friendly as usual and food arrived promptly.

Great up-market cafe. It was pretty busy when we arrived although there were tables available inside and some more in the attached marquee. The food was very good and filling. The atmosphere was good too. Definitely worth a visit.

oh my god! The menu is amazing and the food was so delicious we had to take away some. too good to waste : ) the ambience is also very relaxing and great however could do slightly better in service for hot food. Again, the Chef is a very good cook. loved it.

Great Coffee in a decent place. They serve a variety of breakfasts, Mediterranean food and pizzas 🍕 as well.

After visiting our gorgeous daughter and her equally lovely partner, we stooped by to get breakfast before the drive home. The good things: breakfast - there was plenty of it; coffee, which was very good; excellent service; a chance to speak the few words in arabic that I know with lovely Iraqi staff, and; the baklava - which is frankly amazing. The not so good really turned on the scrambled egg..... tautology though it may be to say it was very overdone, I stand by it. More like placed inside a blast furnace, while being beaten/ clubbed/ ground and diced by marauding savages with an attitude. The result, was pea-sized pencil-eraser textured pellets, which troubled even the tines of my fork. I know in the Middle East there is an historic fear of salmonella-contaminated eggs, so the method is to cremate them and anything in them to death but locally-sourced UK eggs are safe. So, please, please, please, scrambled egg should be barely set and only folded gently (not whipped) in the pan, which itself should sit on the moderate side of a medium heat, not the high side of a high heat.

I cannot think of anything negative to say about this place. The members of staff are lovely, warm and enthusiastic. They make you feel extremely welcome and I plan to return. The food was excellent, the portions are generous and there were many delicious choices available on the menu. There is lots of seating available and plenty of space outside. The interior of the place is nicely decorated. I recommend with place 100%.
