“Wonderful restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious. You can taste the quality of every herb and every spice. Beautiful food and so authentic. The spanakopita reminded me of when I was on holiday in Thessaloniki, Greece. The owners are so friendly, so welcoming and we chatted to them for over half an hour. My mum and I had the perfect evening!”

The Small Holding

“21st birthday dinner, This was mine and my partners second time at the small holding and it didn’t miss a beat. On arrival we enjoyed some local English wine on the terrace overlooking the humble yet picturesque farm. The food was outstanding with the highlights for me being the scallop dish and the berry dessert. This berry dessert with garden herb sorbet was the best dessert I’ve ever experienced. The balance of this dish was truly exceptional and a real testament to a very talented chef. The service was excellent with attentive, but not too overbearing, hosts. The hosts are always very kind and we love the conversations we get with them throughout the evening. Each dish is presented and explained table side by either very knowledgeable hosts or the chefs themselves. The drinks served, that were made in house, were just impeccable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and inviting. The music is just the correct volume especially for my partner who has hearing loss, she was still able to hear me and the hosts perfectly. Overall this restaurant never misses a beat, a combination of a fantastic chef team, fantastic hosts and home grown/local ingredients, all in a beautiful setting. We will be back… :)”

The Greedy Goat Cafe ‘I Suppose’
Church St, Ticehurst, Wadhurst TN5 7AA, UK
Phone: 01580 200955
“I've been wanting to visit The Greedy Goat Cafe for a while now! It wasn't overly easy to find and only had a sign out the front to indicate where it was.. but what a hidden gem! The chef apparently was not very well, from the conversation they were having with other visitors (nothing catching I hope..!) But the food was delicious! Beans could have been a little warmer, but everything was cooked beautifully! I'd definitely visit again! Hope the chef feels better soon!”

“Just had a wonderful coffee and browse at Taywell Farm Shop. Perfect for fresh produce, a lovely open air setting and delicious coffee. I’ve picked up some great local wine and a gift for family, after enjoying a fantastic coffee overlooking the Kent countryside. Made all the more delightful by meeting some of the staff who were all welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to visit the coffee shop (round the back of the Farmshop) for more!”

Food For Thought
Imber Court, High St, Cranbrook TN17 3DF, UK
Phone: 01580 712878
“I've read a couple of bad reviews about this place and fortunately many others very positive. My personal experience has been very positive indeed: sat down for a coffee, relaxing atmosphere and lovely, available staff. I need to say coffee quality is above average (Illy coffee is advertised) and cost was as expected for being in the main Cranbrook strip. Oh, and they accept dogs, which is a strong additional 'plus' for coming again.”
